My money is apparently on whoever will suck up & play the Super’s kid.7 points

Sounds like a problem if true. May find it harder to lure big name like they seem to want to do with just throwing around $$$ if there’s an Admin issue. That’s 2 name coaches in a fairly short span that thought it was a dream job to wind up not staying all that long. Not a coach. But, if I was one, I might be a bit leery.3 points

My sources are saying this was a very political move. Supt was upset over his son's playing time. Job has been offered to PN-G's Joseph and Vandegrift HC. Both have turned it down.3 points -

Good luck to Abseck he has been a good coach for the Eagles. BH will always be a place where Coaches come to grab some cash before retirement, so this was expected at least from me. Don’t care about the drama all schools have it, but BH is always trolled by its haters 😃. Looking forward to the next retiree👊2 points

I don’t have any insight into why Abseck left. But my two cents: Based on watching my family members deal with the BH administration (I’ve got nieces and nephews in BH school district), I wouldn’t want to be employed there. It’s all petty politics and people letting power go to their heads. I’m getting this secondhand, but the “I can’t believe we have to deal with this” kind of stories I’ve heard add up to a giant red flag.2 points

Do we have to win state to contend with Barbers Hill? Id say we have had more playoff wins in the last 10 years compared to BH. The lack of athlete's is the problem not the two prior coaches.2 points

Westerberg didnt have Kyler but Allen was still unreal after he left...14-1, 16-0, 14-1 in Gambill's first three years....Westerberg definitely wanted the paycheck at BH, but Allen is such a meat grinder now...I think he was just tired of managing a job like that....last two BH coaches have departed under what most would say are less than amicable terms....very interesting situation...they'll still get a good coach because they do pay well, they do have good facilities and a good set up..but a lot of candidates will be turned off also2 points -

Vidor in the state rankings this week!!!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Vidor boys basketball team and Coach Joseph Hoyt. The Pirates come in at #21 in state in class 4A this week. It's their first state ranking since the Brian English days at Vidor. Very well deserved and most definitely earned. Congrats and keep up the great work!2 points -

This is probably the right answer. I wonder if that would be an interview question?1 point -
Hopefully BH will get a consulting company since that seems to be the popular thing now. BH is an attractive job, but the area can’t compare to the hill country IMO ,so leave those coaches alone. 😎 Find someone with kids in the intermediate to JR high age group, so they stay a bit. BH needs an up in coming in other words.1 point

People don't like the long drive, then you have to pay for lodging 2-3 nights if you want to see them all. Add in $20 parking and $9 cokes and it's not worth it. Could add up to over $500 easily.1 point -

Also under Texas law of nuisance abatement, the property can be shut down for a year. I am not talking about just a business being removed but the actual property itself being closed for business.1 point -

The police per se have no official presence at those venues. The locations are responsible for their own security and they sometimes hire off duty (not OT) police officers. Those establishments that allow such behavior are breaking state law. They cannot stop an incident from happening, which is typically beyond their control, but by law if it cannot be handled like a bouncer removing someone, it has to be turned over to the police. Many of those locations tend to cover up what happens on their property, including outside of the doors which they are also responsible for. If they have an alcohol license, which is almost a certainty, they are violating their license agreement and can be shut down and/or fined. I have personally gotten a couple of alcohol licensed locations, suspended and on one occasion had the bartender sentenced to two weeks in the County Jail.1 point -

District football projections for 2025-2026

Posted on X; Troy Rice 22 points, 10 rebounds. This should be his numbers every district game, he is just an incredible asset down low for Silsbee. A force down low that should get his opportunity every game. A player that can dominate every district game in the paint.1 point
