weather played a factor last week and LCM scored 7 points against a defense you said was "poor", and that was "going to get tossed around by LCM's offensive line". I didn't realize it, but was told HF's primary back sat out the first half from a suspension in the playoffs last year. he only played two quarters and finished the game with 102 yds of offense and two TDs, despite the poor conditions. I think Silsbee will be moving the ball fine, on the ground AND through the air, and the LCM o-line better pick it up as well. That wet turf isn't going to slow the game down for y'all like the mud did for you last week at HF.

Go watch a Vidor practice and then you'll understand why.... the only passes thrown at practice is by a coach to the DBs.

Iowa Colony is a poor man’s Fort Bend Marshall right now. A couple alignments from now they’ll start to look a lot more like the Manvel teams during the Jalen Preston era. IC has a ver good sophomore RB but offensively they struggle to throw the football at a decent percentage and their offensive line is average at best. However, they do have sophomore QB who already has several power 4 offers to play WR at the next level. He’s going to be a problem running the football for Crosby all night. With the weather being what it is, the talent of IC’s two main ball carriers and Crosby defensive alignment which allows for lots of running space, I wouldn’t be surprised to see IC put up 300 yards on the ground tonight. Lots of RPO’s with quick shows out to the flat to get their guys in space is probably what we have to look forward to tonight. Crosby also helps the opponent’s defense with our offensive play-calling which keeps us in the field most of the night as demonstrated in the Dayton game. I hope win so the kids can get some confidence but Iowa Colony has a lot more talent than Dayton and after a week of watching film I can’t point to any reason we would? Rough times on 2100

Pitching will be ok. Verlander has not been as dominant but nothing that a little run support can’t handle. Arrighetti had one of those games (the inning from hell) that all pitchers have experienced. I say he’s in. Picked up another 1st baseman. I happen to like Singleton but they say he hasn’t panned out. To me, Dezenzo is a bust. Bats need to wake up. Too many lineup changes to get any real chemistry. Go Stros!

Seeing as how this s the easiest non-district schedule Crosby has had in a while it’s going to be disappointing to go 0-3 against it due to our inability to score in Willis’ system. It’s something that permeates all levels of the program. There will be games that the kids make more plays than the others but until we change our fundamental approach in relation to our personnel Crosby is going to struggle to be any more than a .500 program. I didn’t think it would get this bad but these are the results of the concerns I voiced on this board when we made this hire.

They haven’t looked bad either game. The Border Battle is always unpredictable. Tonight, they incorporated more short passes & even attempted one to the big TE. It was a catchable ball he missed. But, good targeting & good to see them incorporate it. Still haven’t seen many delayed screens—which I think could be very deadly with their run game. We’ll see what they continue to mix in. They did introduce a frosh WR tonight who looked like he could become a very exciting player. Fast, with moves, hands, & height. Will be watching him in future games. Looks like he could become a playmaker if given the chance. The D has been burned by long trick plays in both games so far. Otherwise, they’ve done a decent job of bending. Deer Park & Kingwood both have good sized teams. LP’s OL is big. But, the D is relatively small. The secondary all look to be very short. No worries. Still preseason. They’ve lost 2 games by a total of 10 points while tinkering with the O, and had a chance to win both at the end even with the tinkering.
