Got an out of the ordinary call Wednesday night, an old naval friend settled in Brenham and haven’t seen him in 10 plus years!!! His son is on the football team so we are going to eat at Judice’s on Nederland Ave then heading to the game together, still rooting for PNG but man this excites me.

Orangefield folks wanting a coaching change is down right hilarious. Also wanting an offensive philosophy change is pretty funny too. Smalley has done amazingly at Orangefield. It would be the Bobcats loss not gain if he decided to leave.

Sometimes the other team is just better… regardless of what the offensive scheme is.

IMO, some Silsbee players talk too much. But, from what I have seen the last few games it seems it's part of the other teams game plan to get Silsbee to talk too much. Bottom line, Silsbee is good enough to let their play talk for itself and this other stuff is completely unnecessary. I get having your teammates back but do it smartly. The rep has been established and the opponent will try to exploit it to their advantage.

You can’t focus on doing your job if you’re jawing at the guy across from you. Lack of discipline is gonna sink this ship.

Miles Robison is a very good coach that probably doesn't get the respect that he deserves, because of the location of his school. Year in and year out his teams play hard-nosed consistent ball and he/his staff get the most out of what they have to work with in each particular season. Keep on keepin' on Coach!

Are we talking about the kid from bc a couple of weeks ago? Seriously, though… it’s the Silsbee parents fighting each other in the stands, Silsbee players going after each other in their loss to Cuero last year. “These boys are like family… they’ve lost teammates … they’re protective of each other… other teams pick on them because they’re so good… the other team did it first… are you sure the other team wasn’t using slurs? The kid hurt himself flying over the bench…. It was a freak accident.” These are just the excuses I’ve heard from Silsbee fans on these boards this year. It’s nothing new, and it’s one of the big reasons…. Scratch that, the biggest reason doesn’t have any football hardware in the trophy case. You can get away with it in basketball, but the penalties in football are just too harsh to overcome.

Stayed home for this and listened to it. It gave me flashbacks of the 04' playoff game against Westfield. It also gave me flashbacks of the infamous "Mud Bowl" game years ago against Port Arthur. Thankfully the guys were able to keep grinding and turn things around.

Didnt Ofield win the district last year? Lets be honest here its not like Orangefield has been power in football. Coach Smalley seems to do a good job with the program, and the other programs have really flourished under his leadership. Sounds like there may be some delusional bobcat fans.

You really dont understand the Slot T. The only position where the Slot T benefits from a large OL is Strong Tackle. The rest of the positions rely on quickness and precision. There is no "pass blocking" with 8 in the box. Pass pro in the Slot T relys upon deception. I will be willing to bet the 1 dimensional offense works well for Franklin, Liberty Hill and Bellville tonight. Shepherds' version looked pretty good last night. OF had no chance from the start against Woodville. OF was completely out-manned.

I’ve said before and will continue saying.. anytime a 4 beats a 1, sending 4 teams to the playoffs is justified.

Other than the 4 schedules I am still missing, the other 80 schedules have been posted in the schedule sub forum above the basketball forum. They are posted by districts. I will be posting a weekly schedule each week which will be pinned at the top of this forum. Game threads will be posted as well. Some will be consolidated like todays and tomorrows. As the season progresses and we get into district play, there will be more individual game threads posted. Again, anyone that has access to the 8 schedules I am missing, please post here or email them to me.

While remembering what is a crime or the definition of a crime (elements) is in one state might have no bearing in another state…. Criminal Mischief is or was called vandalism in some states. A few other crimes have older terms that have been modernized. For example in Texas (and probably most states) the term rape doesn’t exist but sexual assault or sexual abuse, contact, indecency, etc. does. It is because it is now seen as a felony assault and not just a sex crime. Disorderly Conduct is in some states or in common usage is called disturbing the peace. In another example in Texas law, what is now called Disorderly Conduct-Fighting, used to be called Afray So there are very few actual new crimes but there are sometimes a change in title or other wording. Very rare is a new chapter in Texas laws but this year an entire new chapter in the Penal Code was created called Terrorism There is no such crime as organized criminal mischief in Texas. There is Organized Crime but Organized Crime is not a crime in itself but an enhancement of other crimes. Organized Crime is what under federal law would be called RICO or the racketeering statutes. It is gang or Mafia type crimes. In Texas Organized Crime is not a crime in itself but an enhancement in another crime AND the ability to charge everyone involved. It takes three or more people to be Organized Crime. An example of both enhancement and charging other people, who may not even know each other: A guy gets an idea of committing crimes and recruits a couple of other guys to help. The guy with the idea is A and he gets B and C to get involved. So A gets B to break into homes while people are at work. B will bring what he takes to A. A will later give it to C to sell because C has more contacts with people that would buy stolen property. B does not know C. The only connection they have with each other is knowing A. After C sells the merchandise, they split money. So B breaks into homes and stores stolen property with A who gives it to C to sell. Then… they get caught. What basic crimes do we have? B breaking into homes (Burglary) has committed a Second Degree Felony because breaking into a home has that penalty. It carries a maximum of 20 years in prison. If when arrested, A and C only had a few items whose value (let’s say $2,000) is just a misdemeanor. Normally they would be charged with a Class A misdemeanor with a maximum of up to a year in the county jail. So B is looking at a maximum of 20 years and A and C a year in the county jail for receiving or selling stolen property. But…. Organized Crime then comes into play. IF….. the state/DA can prove that all three were working together to profit from the Burglaries then all three can be charged with the Second Degree Felony of Burglary-Habitation. So much for a year maximum in jail for A and C. That is because under Organized Crime, everyone involved can be charged with the most serious crime. But wait, there’s more. Remember there is also an enhancement in penalty so the Second Degree Felony goes up one level to a First Degree Felony which carries a maximum sentence of 99 years in prison. So A and C, through Organized Crime, went from a misdemeanor of selling known stolen property to a First Degree Felony or the equivalent of the penalty of Murder. Clear as mud?

Just survive and move on. It's not gonna count any more and less so long as we get a W. Have to see how much damage has been done in the injury department afterwards.

A 3rd place finish and getting manhandled in the first round is not something to be happy about, especially when you’re the largest school in that particular district. Lots of questions going forward about whether or not Smalley leaves etc. it’s a proud community with loyal fans and good kids. Hope for better days for the cats going forward. I believe they’re saying is “We Believe”….that wasn’t near enough tonight.

Me and @BMTSoulja1 was talking awhile back about that. We knew about the BMT Bowl before MCM.

Bosha wasn’t even the best player in that district. Q was better in HS (and continued to be in college). Bosha is definitely after Donahue, Spears and Prudhomme (in no particular order). Probably some others I’m missing as well.
