Speaking of PNG, this is interesting for anyone who wants a nostalgia trip. I don't specifically remember the year or score, but I know Silsbee won the first game I attended against Jasper. The game ended in a tie, but Silsbee got the win for some reason. I know it was a very low scoring game. Randy Matthews was QB that year. Games over off 7th street were crazy. Even if you didn't go and lived on 2nd street or something, you could hear nearly everything if you opened your door, and sometimes you didn't need to do that. Bet a lot of the people who lived even closer were glad when the games moved.

If you hadn't posted that, I was gonna change my screen name to @BMT_Smash_Mouth. Guess that's ruined now...

It's like one school made halftime adjustments and 1 didn't. After going up 21-14, they were outscored 28-7. That's neither here nor there. I'm hoping for a win to send them back to 5A on a positive note...

Good evaluation. It’s close to my bias opinion 😀 I think BH is the most complete team and PAM is the most raw talent team in the district.LP can cause match up problems, just ask BH. I mentioned once that they seem to be to BH how Vidor was to Crosby. Can’t explain it, but they give us fits. I hope we all three represent in the 1st round well.

I had a lot of different emotions during and after the game last night. Excited, happy, and relieved to name a few. It was the 1st major championship that I was able to celebrate with my son. (he always asks me why I like the RANGERS and the COWBOYS, since they haven't been very good in his lifetime, he's only 12) I woke up this morning and checked my phone to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Sure enough, the RANGERS are the World Series CHAMPIONS!!!

I agree. The hype they put on the kid was detrimental. I urged them to slow down and give him some time to develop, but some did not appreciate it. I happened to be outside the upper level suites at AT&T last year. Todd Dodge and a few friends left their suite to go to the elevators. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed a young man and his mother hurriedly walking up to catch Todd Dodge before the elevators opened. Mom introduced her son to TD, and enthusiastically told TD about all the great things the son was about to do. TD was very polite and listened, and wished them well. At that moment I felt that a bar was being set too high for a Freshman from a 3A school in a weak district. As I said before, it seemed unfair to him. JMO, that's all.

I am the Mayor of Silsbee..... I am retired now after running the newspaper in Silsbee for over 30 years and another 18 years or so in other locations in Colorado and Nebraska. Anderson Land, the Mayor of Jasper, and is also a very familiar voice on KJAS, called this week with a friendly wager that if Silsbee loses I will have to wear a Jasper Bulldog T-Shirt to the next Silsbee council meeting and he will wear a Silsbee Tiger shirt if Jasper loses. I am pretty confident that this is Silsbee's year so I jumped on the proposition. I've never worn that wanna be maroon color that Jasper holds so dear. The thought of it is well "revolting". At any rate it is always fun to have our friends from Jasper County in for a visit and to be able to trade a few barbs with them. I'm looking for a great game Friday night.

I don't know man. In high school especially at the small schools sometimes a really good rb or a really good dual threat qb can make all the difference in the world.

I have watched 4 games for Brenham this season. I also watched some highlights from others they have played. PN-G has the size advantage on both lines. Looks from video to be a fairly large advantage between the Indians O line and Brenham's D Line. Any team can win any week in the playoffs. That being said this Brenham team doesn't look as strong as last seasons did. Brenham fans please travel safe to the Reservation and best of luck. You guys have some of the best fans in the area. I have nothing but respect for your fans, and program. I look at Dayton the same way. That being said I do hope the Indians win this one. See you in on the 10th.

I can agree with that, but I didn’t feel like DCTF should have had PAM ranked at #4 all year either. I believe they have the team to be that high, but not the coaching staff. It takes both. Went from #4 in the state to most likely 3rd in district. Proof rankings don’t mean anything.

I went last year to watch PNG and stayed across the street from six flags. I’m not lying when I say that I slept with that thang on my nightstand, son…. I was ready. I’ll be looking a little further out if comes around again.
