Hopefully he will do some play by play on SETX or Texanlive. Gary Stelly is one of the best. I recall listening to games all the way back to 1988 (I’m sure there are some earlier). When I couldn’t make a game, Gary was the next best thing! I wish him and the KOGT folks nothing but the best. I will miss my daily visits to KOGT.COM My fondest memory will be listening to the 2000 WOS VS CAL ALLEN game on replay. Stelly was mucho annoyed by the constant “go, go, go” by the Cal Allen cheerleaders. His call of the game winning score still sticks with me.

KOGT has been the only pipeline of local news with weekly visits with the judge, LIT Orange, county and city meeting minutes, police reports, local business promotions, charitable events, etc. Dang, as I’m listing them its becoming more evident that Orange County will hurt without KOGT. Furthermore, KOGT promoted many school events other than football. They broadcast, baseball, basketball, softball as well. These are programs that attract less attendance but still attracted a radio audience. It won’t take long after their closing to realize the true impact.

With are schedule and the teams we have beat a loss to Carter by 2 points I don't see us moving at all. Carter also lost to Bishop Lynch. I don't see the top 5 moving at all.

The polls don't matter. Remember FF lost to Argyle last year and Gonzaga got blast by Baylor. Silsbee will be #3 or #4. They will still be #1 in Region 3. I dont believe there is anyone in Region 3 who can beat them including Yates and Booker T.

Silsbee battled with Carter and Carter has as much height as Washington. I don't know if any of their bigs are as good as BT's Lewis. So I feel a bit more confident should those two teams square off.

Playing Carter then playing an arguably even better Bishop Lynch team in one day is tough. I don't really like the idea of "good losses" but hopefully we'll now get better and improve going forward. Sadly we don't have the parts we need to fix some things. I think we're still a year away from being serious contenders.

When they played Kimball Morris was without a doubt the best player on the floor but NLR just had an all around better team The Guard Smith and they’re Big Man was good though. . Kimball shoulda won that game and I believe BU definitely can win this one

I disagree. Several local schools have the potential to make a deep run to state in the next few years. If the right talent comes along and no injury bugs. Vidor and LCM could have potentially went even farther without injuries. We all know a turnover or two can make a difference as well at that level.

Your program is as strong as any I can remember. I grew up with Cuff's mom and that side of the family has done a lot in athletics in Southeast Texas for a long time. He's got the genes for sure. Your Dawgs will bounce back and hopefully ours will be improved enough on offense to make things interesting when we play Carthage again.

The coach the Mustangs had last year is an assistant at Hardin-Jefferson now. It appears the new coach this year is having some buy-in issues with some of the players.

Yes they are. They had some missed opportunities to close the deal but came up short. Credit SOC. That was the biggest all around High School Football Team I’ve ever seen in my life. What a great experience for both teams. Hate it that the High School Football Season is officially over.

Todd passed away due to complications from COVID. Todd was a fighter having overcome a heart transplant several years ago and he loved what he did for SETXSports. We are trying to keep up with everything, but we discover every day something else Todd did that we never knew about. For 16 years SETXSports.com has been the only place where you could get information about all sports in Southeast Texas, not just football. The help we need is people posting scores. We are working to get things like standings and records updated, but that takes scores. We have very few people that cant be everywhere all the time so we coaches and parents to send in the scores so we have data to work with.
