Lumberton lost 4 starters last year and another kid that played tons of minutes. I think what Coach Mitchell has done this year is pretty impressive with a pretty young group. Brock is dang good but I think Lumberton flat out plays really hard and that’s a testament to the coach.

I agree, but I think the Fannett coach has done pretty good with what he has right now and having 2 starters out losing to a good sheperd team by 3 points is a testament to the coach making sure his kids play as hard as they can and not making excuses. That’s part of coaching is getting the kids bought in and tigee has done that.

When we ALL stop choosing up sides based on skin tone we'll be in a whole lot better place.

It took Art Briles 6 years to start his 4 State Title run. During that time he went 16-0 3 times. The point is, Westerberg has done it before. With Barbers Hill he may need time. You said: "5 seasons is plenty of time to build a program." Maybe yes and maybe no! If I were the Eagles faithful, I would be proud to have an elite coach like Westerberg! With this guy, you KNOW it's possible to win a State Title. When you hire someone who has never been a head coach and has never won, and possibly never been involved in, a State game, well, you really don't know what you got.

It was a 19-6 4th qtr in favor of Ned, that tells me United sat all starters. Ned had only scored 17 points thru 3.

To tell you the truth, I don’t really care what they say. Having all the answers and all the moral high-ground must be exhausting. Me personally, I struggle to be a good husband, dad, employee and just do the best I can on a daily basis. Lovejoy had this team dead to rights and they returned a kickoff, blocked a punt and then shut down the Lovejoy offense. Aledo has a switch that other teams (minus my cougars and possible LH.) Just don't have. When Aledo gets down not a single kid on that team thinks they are going to lose, and that's a powerful tool. There only loss this year is to 6A d2 finalist (edited). A great program, great coaching staff, and great team is what we have to play this week. They have more tradition and more championships than every team we played this year combined... no seriously.. Crosby has to play their best game of the year, they need to be lights out. No Dropped passes, no fumbles when your up by 8 with the ball in the 4th quarter. Mistake must be fixed and we have to play a near perfect game to beat a team as vaunted as Aledo.
