Silsbee 21 West Brook 16 End of 1st

Ok Rah Rahs. Bost is a good High School QB. Not in the stratosphere of RJ. We have some good athletes on defense, they are just lost as a goose. The DC keeps changing things up week to week. But that’s BFs fault for hiring a kid out of school, who had no other experience, than at Chumperton. Last but not least, I said we would compete for the 4 seed, and that’s what we did. We beat Nederland, so it’s not a wash. Issue is the next few years do not look any better, unless BF finds himself a QB. He has a few that have played QB and done great, but he will need to make that change. If he doesn’t, we will be in the same boat for the next few seasons. He has had the opportunity to move a few kids up and finally did this week. But more than likely they will ride the pine. Congrats to the seniors on this team. They have beat Nederland, and in the BF era, that’s success!!!!

When you insist on running a 3 man front with 2 linebackers that might weigh 170 pounds you need to be checked. Teams run up the middle on us at will but we will still litter the field with DB's.

Actually, Jasper is like a remarkably average looking girl that you take out for dinner at the Cedar Tree and you realize that she can't hold a fork or a conversation. Then she mentions that her fee-yawn-say has been in jail since the Spring and that she's five weeks pregnant... but she's not worried about it... she can take care of herself. And all you want to do is skip dessert and drop her off at her bruncle's house and hope nobody noticed the two of you out on the town. I've given credit to Officer Barbrady and the Dawgs for renewing their matchup with Silsbee.... I also suspect that Jasper will (as always) have some good athletes rise to the occasion. I don't see Barbay making any substantial changes... Jasper is kinda like us in the fact that they aren't a qb factory.... I don't know how you can cultivate state championship talent under center, so that leaves you completely reliant on a rb.... that will still work down in 3A D2 where Newton lives, but it doesn't fly against squads like y'all run into in 4A. It eventually catches up, if for no other reason than not being able to defend a passing attack because you just don't see one often enough. But the dawgs will finish near the top of District and hopefully make a round or two further than they did this year.

Crosby will field the better team Friday Night. Seeing both they are more talented on both sides of the ball and the Crosby defense IMO is the best in the area. However Crosby sometimes has the tendency to under perform during a game in district, but they seem solid right now. Hats off to Nederland come in and punching BH in the mouth, but Crosby has more balance this year on both sides of the ball than I can remember. Goodluck Coogs I think you guys have a shot of a good play off run this year. Ned should have a decent shot as well, playing good ball right now and plays well as a team.

Yes they held the lead until the about 4:26 to go in the 4th then fell behind by about 7 or 8 points then turn up the heat and had a chance to win just keep building and they will be fine.

I think Crosby wins this one 38-17. Hope the dogs prove me wrong. No matter the outcome I hope both teams can have some success in the playoffs.

PNG just needs a true defensive coordinator not a new to the coaching ranks that was giving the title.

Calpreps has it Lindale 35 Kilgore 31. Don't know much about each team besides the D1 RB for Lindale. In my opinion first team to 30 wins. This game is a toss up. Should be a shootout.

I’m a firm believer in football being about x and o’s.. no matter what offense you run, it’ll come down to blocking, executing, and sound defense. Nothing wrong with going under center. That don’t mean you’re just a running team.! Plenty of teams that run just as much as Jasper and go out the shotgun in spread. There are teams that go under center and pass just as good as anyone. Jasper will need to evaluate the personnel and make sure that the kids are ready physically and mentally to run that offense and be sound enough on defense to make it work. Like I’ve said before, I’m not a big fan of the Jasper staff, but I have no problem with their scheme and think a tweak here and there that I can work and get them a deep playoff run...

Inject tenderloins (usually weigh 1-1/2 to 2 lbs each) with Creole Butter turkey injection and let sit to marinade for at least 30 min to overnight. Season outside of tenderloins with Tony’s. Roll in flour only when you’re ready to deep fry. (I season the flour up a little with Tony’s too beforehand). Drop in the hot grease at 350 for 10 minutes. Let rest for 20 minutes. Slice approx 3/8” thick on this bias. Center should be pink. Eat plain or dress with a little of that Giblet Gravy. Good Lawd. Lip-smackin’!

PNG must move athletes around, go both ways if you need to & most importantly GET A DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR WHO WILL MAKE SOME KIND OF ADJUSTMENTS!!! Otherwise, keeping only stellar athletes on offense will not benefit you over an entire season. This PNG team has to be able to occasionally stop other offenses from scoring!!!

There is one player on the HJ Varsity that has not played every year since his freshman year at HJ
