#7 needs to play both ways. Nederland has a kid do it every year. #18 was a 1st team all district player last year and plays about 50% of the offensive snaps. He is big and athletic. There is no reason why he cant get some time at LB or DE. No offense to the kids playing on the D line but we have 2 kids over 200 pounds on defense and they expect 3 DL to take on 5 OL.

If you have time, go watch just the highlights from the Crosby/BH game, and then any footage from the BH/PNG game. The Crosby D line blew past the BH line like they weren't there at all. The Crosby D line players don't appear to be particularly large. I don't know what scheme Crosby was running, or how many down linemen. But then look at the PNG game -- almost zero penetration all night. Even though the BH O line is big, there is a way to beat them and it doesn't require being as big. PNG is getting outskilled on D line, not just outmuscled, whereas the Crosby D line outplayed, instead of outmuscling, the BH line.

If PNG makes changes on defense, this game might not be a good one to decide if the results were good. Kpark is not a very good team at all. On the other hand, if PNG struggles, like I said, KPark is not very good at all.

They will be scouting both.

#16 is a sophomore and he came in at LB and was delivering some blows. #8 is all heart. He is going to play his butt off every play. There is no reason we cant run a 4-2-5

I thought the same thing about Lindale's RB, he looks really similar to Limbrick. But Vidor cannot key on him every play but they'll have to play near perfect defense and play disciplined football if we want to stay in this game.

You have been on here long enough to know we never have Thursday games in the pickems.

There are a few kids on defense delivering licks -- It adds to my frustration about the defense, because the players clearly want to be more aggressive.

I don't like singling out a player but for high praise I will. #8. That kid is in on almost every play. We need more of that.

I know nothing about WS besides what max preps has. Their district is definitely the favorite against all of our teams. I can see HD being competitive for the 1st half then falling behind in the 2nd half. Hope I’m wrong.

Because of a few posters I generally pull for ANY team against HD - but that’s not fair to the kids who don’t play a roll in it. I just have a feeling they win this week.

Paul pewitt seems to be struggling to get where they were last year. I believe Elysian Fields will be the toughest team in hemphill and Newton first three game bracket. Then dangerfield in 4th game. Although I wouldn’t bet the house on them being around they tend to play all over the place never know if there going to show up week to week. Hemphill will have to have the football Gods on their side to get thru EF first round. Newton should roll first couple games. Then things will get a little tougher in the 3rd and 4th rounds. I look for Newton to play EF in the 3rd round and Daingerfield in the 4th round. Good luck Newton.

Couple of things. Good for HJ and Liberty. And shame on the other 4. Like i said, based on the facts of this case (as now verified by the young man’s father), the action taken by the DEC is reprehensible. I’ve seen it in the past too often. Men who say they got in a profession for the kids prove the opposite. Or at best prove they only got into it for “some” kids. Once residency is proven, that should be the end of the story. But it’s not because decisions are made “for athletic purposes.” Except not by the kid or his family, but by the school administrators who voted against him. That’s right. They, in effect, blackball a kid for their OWN school’s athletic purposes. Well done hypocrites. Well done.
