  1. Game over. 21-14. That was PNG's game to lose. They played their hearts out and surprised everyone, including me. That interception on an unnecessary deep pass, and the underthrown 4th down pass were what did it to us. Good game PNG! FBM knows they escaped tonight.

  2. FBM survives. Great game Png, I thought for sure FBM would hang 70 tonight. For the 1st time this season Png played GREAT defense. Nothing to hang your heads about tonight!

  3. The UIL cutoff numbers is responsible for winners and losers every reclassification. I know that, and have argued that very point. However, perception is reality. To the mob (parents and fans), the only things that matters are playing time and wins. A coach that goes 8-2 with garbage competition and some decent kids is a hero while a coach that goes 2-8 in a gauntlet with no players deserves to be fired. You’re not saying anything I don’t know. Why do you think I get ridiculed when I say things like, “WOS can’t get out of the region when Carthage is in it”? I’m bashed by the locals for even mentioning stuff like that. This particular topic, he’s relatively more successful (on paper) than his predecessors. The resume doesn’t include strength of schedule.

  4. PNG had a chance, played great. Two big plays, one being first possession, line up for FG, which Faircloth should’ve known wasn’t going to help in this game. Bost running on this team and try a trick play with the kicker? Come on man. Second play was PNG running down Marshall’s throat, and instead of burning clock like they did all night, someone decides to throw deep pass against DB’s that are more athletic then your WR’s. WR gets bullied out of bounds and DB gets int. That’s the two plays that were the difference. If PNG continues to run and short passes, you might score with very little time and go for two. My .02 congrats to PNG on great game and of course Bost doing what Bost does being a gamer.

  6. PNG came so close to a statement win. Sad for the team. However, I think we established pretty clearly which district is better. FBM hasn't been challenged all season and it showed.

Must be nice to be as woke as some people. Now that Biden has been “elected” we can start moving toward Utopia (insert sarcasm here). I’ve had it (COVID)- I just don’t see the mass hysteria and restrictions were ever justified.

  11. Good job Coogs. Hope this is just a prelude to a deep run. We may rag on you during the season, but I’ll put on the red now.

  14. FBM doesn’t look as invincible as they have in past years. Even with Roschon, we couldn’t move the ball at all in 2018 against them.

  16. 35-0 Crosby. 11:40 in 2nd. Willowridge has 4 possessions and only one first down.

  17. How many times has PNG finished 4th or lower in District under BF in 12 years? Twice. This year and 2012. go back and see how many times the former coach finished .500 or less in 15 years...I’ll save you the trouble, it’s 7. Finishing 4th or less twice in 12 years does not make a standard. FBM alot to PNG not alot.

  19. It seems to me that the dogs defense has shown a tendency to get better as the game goes on and after that one personal foul late in the game, I think it just pissed the defense off because they just jacked their intensity up another notch.

  20. I went back and watched the 4th quarter play where PNG threw the interception. Bost went for the homerun, but if you watch closely, Vaughn was wide open in the flat. Just take what the defense gives you, burn up all the clock, and punch it in with under a minute left. And heck, I'm going for 2 against the 3rd ranked team in the state. On the road with nothing to lose.

  21. I want to know where the hell that team last night has been all year. Granted FBM wasn’t what they have been but, if PNG had played like that all year we probably would have been District Champs.

  31. Crosby had higher level individual players when Rio was coaching but Prieto has more overall talent. I don’t think it’s surprising he’s getting the results he is. Rio also had good defenses between 2014-2016 and had a pretty good defense in 2018 until Howard got hurt and the backup qb couldn’t move the ball and became a turnover machine. But yeah, I do think this philosophy gives us an extremely good chance to beat Texas High next week.

  38. Could it be, despite all our struggles in district, PNG’s defensive line is the best FBM has seen since district started? The D line actually looks pretty good so far.

  46. I know this isn’t gonna be a popular response on this thread but I ain’t sure if the Tigers are going to be as successful in their district this year as most on here think. I haven’t seen Bridge City yet this year but I’m familiar with what they had coming back. The 4 teams in question Silsbee, Lumberton,Bridge City and LCM will beat each other up on a regular basis. The difference will be stealing some on the road and it takes young teams awhile to learn to do that. I haven’t seen much mention of LCM , they can be the most dangerous of this entire district. They have a solid PG, two very good shooters and if they get some post presence they could be the favorite. Lufkin will be a good measuring stick for the Tigers. They are pretty solid. Just my opinion for what it’s worth.

Only his senior year - Vidor had him for three years, I think, and both PNG and Nederland handled him fine. His senior year also coincided with PNG having one of its worst teams in the past 20 years. Vidor's offense is only truly effective against a team that never faces that kind of offense (like Vidor beating PAM in 2016).
