Iowa Colony of Alvin Isd.  4A Div1 which bring the number of schools there to 4

It's going to be interesting to see what Manvel looks like in a few years? They have a crazy building boom going on there just like the rest of the metro area but they already lost a huge chunk of high end athletes to Shadow Creek when they opened and now the south side of 288 has been cut out of their attendance zone too.

The West Fork Gators are competing at the varsity level in 20-4A for all sports besides football. Saw their volleyball team yesterday in the Tarkington Tournament.

I wonder what there enrollment was at the first day of school?

835

So, that number would land them in 4AD2. Is that the number (or around the number) that would be utilized for realignment? Also, what current grades comprise the "835"?

Might be advantageous/convenient to align at 4AD2 and then end up with 4AD1 or 5AD2 numbers. Their facilities appear to be spectacular.

West Fork will probably be 5A Div II.  The UIL has a formula for new schools that don’t have 4 grades.  If they use the same formula as last realignment, WFHS will fall in 5A Div II.

This school is only 9th and 10th.  Their feeder school is Woodridge Forest MS off of Northpark.

What formula does UIL utilize? WF is tracking to have 1210 (3 grades) students next year and 1651 (4 grades) the following year. Do you think UIL would put them in 5AD2 at the first alignment with Varsity football? Seems a bit harsh for them with no SRs the first year.

Also, how has WF impacted the enrollments for Porter and NC? Wondering if NC stays in 6A?

From UIL 2022-24:

5. Schools that opened during the current alignment period and are currently participating in activities will take the number of grades they currently have and enrollment will be calculated as follows:

a. Enrollment = Grades (9 + 10) x 2

b. Enrollment = Grades (9 + 10 + 11) x 1.33

More than likely:

NCHS will be 6A one more alignment

PHS will be 5A Division 1

WFHS will be 5A Division 2

I appreciate the clarification. Based on the formula I would agree. I am curious if NC has any chance to drop. They look like they are going to be the smallest team in the district.
