Coaching is important, but without players, it can only go so far; coaching is about getting the most out of what you have and building culture

Nederland and PNG generally have the same type athletes.  Not a lot of D1 guys walking the halls of either school. It’s all about system and culture for both schools.  That’s coaching.

Also, a willingness to be coached, taught, instructed, and being part of a unit.

Good coaching is important. Ask my buddy @WO-S 89 about coaching. Two tales of first year coaches.

Ouch !!u know I been watching all these teams play. Even in a losing effort. Like cuero,Silsbee,Newton,PAM furthermore  shows me. That our program here in orange is fixing to take a nose dive.

That Silsbee and Cuero game concerned me about the  coaching a little. WOS yall have bigger problems. LCM should have a better year. Yall lost several kids to the Bears

Will they be there to keep naysayers at bay, to make real time adjustments, or just support in general?

I would think just being the son of Gary Joseph would be enough pressure. Hall of fame expectations. Im sure his dad will be there for questions. Im sure Todd would be there to advertise his business on recruiting coaches.  now every school will go through him to get a great coach!😜

Ik. That's why I see the down fall coming even more. I don't have a problem with a new defense and offense.but, the kids are getting lost bcz there not been taught basic football and it's showing.great teams kno how to make adjustments.and scout other teams tendencies.and play to the kids strengths that they have.i have zero faith in this current coaching staff.it is what it is.im just gonna continue to support all the local teams. And accept that w.o will never get back to the team they once were.until changes are made.

    • but will he be doing contact football drills mid-season?
    • That was an awesome video!  I feel so proud of these young men.  They proved the doubters wrong.  Bellville should be proud, too.  I know it didn't end like they had hoped, but we've been there, so we can definitely empathize with them.  Great season, Brahmas!
    • Meh.. Everyone knows this. The kid that got injured wasn't lifting weights. Supposedly he was hit with a helmet in his elbow. In my opinion the kid shouldn't have been put in that situation. AD should've told the Varsity baseball players to sit that one out. I have no issues with the lifting or conditioning. However, anytime helmets/pads are on there is a higher risk of injury. This AD showed a total lack of respect for HIS baseball program.
    • Maybe.. however..  Many athletic director / head football coach have lost their job despite the athletic program as a whole being successful.. if the football team struggles.  On the other hand, when football teams are doing great but the rest of the program stinks.. AD/HFC still keeps their job. WOS.  Newton. .. programs as a whole were fairly weak during those many years of football power and very few people even knew it.  Or cared. Yet, AD/HFC kept their jobs for years. Meanwhile, I remember an AD/HFC at Barbers Hill lost his job after every program in the school won district championships and even had several team sports (baseball, softball, girls hoops, etc.) making runs at state.  But the football team was mediocre.  Fired. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that perception is reality.  And the perception is that your athletic program can suck as long as football wins.. it doesn't matter how strong the athletic program is if football sucks.
