Glad you finally are recognizing it and owning up to being part of "blaming the kids" echo chamber! So, this also makes you a firm believer that there is no difference between the Vidor coach and the Carthage coach! Just the "kids!"
If you can’t admit that there are obvious cases of a team with enough talent for deep runs… and a team without enough talent for a deep run, then you’re very deserving of all the posts that are obviously making fun of you.
True or false: The Carthage coach could beat Katy within 7 years spent at Sabine Pass.
Give a one word response. True…. Or…. False

It was an extreme example on purpose...the point is, just saying that any coach should be able to win no matter the talent level is ridiculous.
But.... that's exactly what is being claimed. By a specific person I mean.

I will use and extreme example, but let's just say the KC Chiefs play Sabine Pass in football? If Sabine Pass loses, is it the coaches fault exclusively or do maybe the players/level of talent have something to do with it??
Just labeling your argument as "blaming the kids" is easy and frankly lazy IMO...if you portray someone as putting all the blame on the poor kiddos, it's easy to paint those folks as villains...the bottom line is that sometimes you just don't have the Jimmy's and Joe's...you need good coaching AND good players to have serious success
Sounds like you're a kid blamer. In 7 years time or less, an elite coach would beat the KC Chiefs with Sabine Pass. I said what I said.

Back in the day, a lot teams ran this offense or something very similar. So the answer to your question would be yes.
Now if you need to narrow your question to more recent years, then so be it.
It wouldn't matter. Because (insert exception here)...

Liberty was opportunistic and got A LOT of breaks and apparently they were good enough to take advantage. They almost lost the ball, but didn't, about 40 times it seemed. And they turned a bunch of those favorable bounces into points.
The first quarter was almost too good, shades of the best of McCain/Adams/Bush days. I guess a letdown is always possible after a quarter like that and it came and it was a humdinger. Outscored by Liberty in the 2nd quarter? And halftime didn't fix it much they came out flat and the lead shrunk to 13 in the third, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one getting the funny feeling in the pit of my stomach.
The line was what? 36? A 45 or even 50 point win wasn't out of the question. But I had a feeling something would happen. I didn't know what, but something. In the prediction thread I said around 30, maybe a few more.
I haven't followed Liberty at all so #3 was a complete surprise to me. He was all over the place against the No. 3 team in the state. Is he always like that? Based on his performance tonight I think he could start for almost all 4A teams in the state, including the Tigers, or if not start then be the 6th man. I'm watching him warm up, non-descript, wearing glasses, kind of nerdy actually. And he's introduced as a start. Hmmm, I wouldn't have figured that. And then he comes out and basically keeps his lowly 4th place team in the game till they can catch their breath. I wonder if there may have been a basketball camp or two in his past.I heard that he's a legit distance runner. Like.. D1 cross country scholarship.

Go get the coach from Anahuac!
"Go get the coach from...."
As stated countless times: Most "not so great schools" don't pay enough money to attract a quality, well known, big name coach. And if you want a coach that's NOT ON THE APPLICANT LIST, you need even more money than that. The amount you didn't have to start with I mean.

I think PN-G will struggle to win district next year.
Nederland will continue to struggle because they just do not have the athletes. They can replace the coach but they will not have the athletes and will continue to struggle regardless of who coaches them. Coaches can not just snap their finger and say you and you are now athletes, it just does not work that way.
The natural athletic ability of R. Johnson is a good example how one or two good kids can change a program.Surely you jest. I have it on good authority that there are coaches capable of winning a state championship in any school within 7 years.... regardless of their players' athletic ability. They call this seemingly mythical group of men "Elite". I know it may sound silly.. but it's true. You sound like one of those kid blamers. (Disclaimer: This only exists in the sport of football)

Yes. But that wasn't their problem. It was their half court defense. Got killed inside and was out rebounded 46-28
I watched the second half of the game on NFHS. Their half court defense was definitely bad. Also, Kountze missed several what I consider as unnecessary deep 3 point attempts.. and their free throw shooting cost them a few possessions worth of points.
Buna broke the press easily. It turned into vastly more offensive points than it did turnovers in Kountze's favor. I know that's what they do but it definitely wasn't working. Not sure Kountze's answer for when they can't score from their press. Seems like it's "give the ball to the PG and let him create". Not sound in my opinion.. but, meh. I don't really care.
Best of luck fighting it out for the last spot.

Wouldn't it be fun if Orangefield lost tonight.. and Kountze lost... Wouldn't that force two seeding games?
By the way.. EC's ace should get MVP. Disclaimer: I HATE when they do "co-superlative"

Maybe sometimes schools with bad traditions settle for losing coaches or schools settle for losing coaches and that starts bad traditions. Like Vidor
I think that people are assuming that any school just has the ability/budget to hire whoever they want. Just how big do you think the applicants list is at schools with bad traditions? It's not a coincidence that you don't see the Surratts of the coaching world applying to coach at schools that don't have a tradition of winning... and schools can only hire a person that's applied.

Not arguing your point but Tyrone Swoopes’ team went 1-9 his senior year and he had an Alabama offer. I tried to find it but couldn’t but he may have been the funniest high school team photo ever. If you have seen it, you know.
There are always exceptions. I usually refer to the norm.

The best player on the best team will likely get district MVP.

I think Daniel Marsh graduated in 08, they were solid that year. They beat Kountze at Hardin and made the playoffs .
Having a good player doesn’t constitute a program turning around. It just means they had a good player(s).

Go do your HW…. he took over that program in 99 i belive and 01-02 took them to the regional tournament right before he left for Kountze
How was 02-03? And if they had a good team in 07-08, then that’s not turned around. Then what happened 08-09?

Joubert got it turned around before he came to Kountze
I remember In like 2008 they were decent
and made a few playoff appearances from 2009-2015 (they knocked my son out of playoff contention one of those years )
“Turned around”? I guess. And I thought he was at Kountze already in 07 or so.

That’s like saying someone’s team is 1-9 and a kid on there team has 230 tackles and doesn’t get all state
Bad teams don't usually have many with accolades.. because more times than not, if they truly had good players then they would've won more games.

So you are saying someone’s team stat is 16-0 and 14-2 will help someone get all state? Shouldn’t be
No.. I'm saying that someone's running back on a team that played 16 games is probably going to have more rushing yards and more rushing touchdowns that the running back on a team that only played 10/11/12. If it's about total stats for the year then teams with more playoff wins will have an advantage.
And believe it or not.. even those teams have a best player.

I would go embarrassing… his stats were better or a little less than 1st teamers. I know corbitt did not have more yards or touchdowns than dischler.
I just checked the stats of the 1st teamers (per maxpreps). Pendergrass had 3,200 yards and 40 touchdowns. The McGill kid had 2,557 rushing yards and 35 rushing touchdown. also had 382 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. The other two kids were 16-0 and 14-2.. so they probably had better total stats.
Maybe you're wrong.

pretty embarrassing to say the least… 2,400 yards 28 Touchdowns all on ground
I don't know about embarrassing... surprising to not even be honorable mention All-State. But I wouldn't say embarrassing. What were the stats of the Anahuac kid?

Yea that program hasn't been good in some years......
Has it ever been good other than a handful of 1-2 year(s) runs of decent players?

Fine.. even though you’re the one that claims any coach can go anywhere and win regardless of the talent.
We’ll stick to classifications. True or false: The Carthage coach could spend 7 years in Sabine Pass and beat Mart. Taking into consideration that SP doesn’t change their academic requirements for transfer.
