No state championship in 9 seasons? It's believed that one should get 7 seasons max... Sounds like it's time to bring in an "Elite Coach".
(rolls eyes sarcastically)
All jokes aside.. fantastic job.

4th and 10 at midfield with 6 minutes to go.. not sure I go for it there. But that’s me.
Hero/Zero moment.

Damn we got swept
2nd consecutive year.
This is also why it’s justified sending 4 teams.

Using eligible players? Just wondering...

Yes they do but nobody wants weather to be a factor in the championship game.
Besides, usually Sept-Oct. is much nicer temp than mid Dec.
And I get that too. But there's no guarantee that weather won't factor in the week or two before the state championship game for some schools. Especially for the extreme North teams. I'm sure outside weather in Austin Tx in December is like a walk on the beach for Canadian High School compared to up there.
I'm an "Ice Bowl" type fan.. weather is just part of it. But I still like it at Cowboys stadium.. nothing to do with inside/outside. But because it's the nicest field in the state.

Given the choice of indoors or outdoors, a vast majority of the coaches will go with indoors.
I am so glad basketball left that God awful place.
Oh I get it.. but, don't most (if not all) high school football teams play outdoor every week all year? And just to be clear... I personally like them playing at Cowboy's stadium because it's the nicest venue in the state. I just mean to all of the, "Needs to be Dallas! .. Needs to be Houston!" crowd... why wouldn't the state just say, "Ok.. fine then. It's Austin."

Why not Austin? The University of Texas has been and is the home of several other state championship activities..
It is the state's capital..

Even if you live in the boundaries and meet the rules can’t you still have to sit out a certain number of games?
15 calendar days from the date of enrollment.. assuming the previous athletic directors check the PAPF that the student didn't move for athletic purposes. I believe.
That's only for varsity athletics. Kids can transfer and begin playing with the sub varsity team immediately.

BREAKING the 12-2A Division II DEC has ruled Sabine Pass must forfeit district wins over Colmesneil, Hull-Daisetta and Evadale for using ineligible players No word on if Sabine Pass will appeal to the UIL
Finally went and got em an athlete.. got a little taste of success.. and got caught.
Can't win for losing.

WOS in a close one. By close.. I mean less than 70.

Well that takes away the possible 3 way tie, EC, OF & Anahuac.
Here's a fun scenario. Let's say EC loses to OF.. and Anahuac loses to CS. If Hardin could beat CS and then beat KV... there would be a 3 way tie for 2nd between Hardin, Anahuac, and EC. I believe Hardin would get the 2 seed in that scenario lol.
That would be quite a situation.
But.. Hardin would have to beat CS. And Anahuac would have to not. Those are both up in the air.

I’m not from WOS… never talked bad about the coach… but if you can see that this Silsbee team isn’t near what they had last year and that WOS is playing better this year then I can’t help you lol
I’m not saying you’re wrong.. just that perception is reality. And the perception is that the only reason WOS wasn’t their “usual self” last year is because of the coach (based on what I read for months). And according to your comment and many others I’m seeing… they’re just a better team now.. one season later..
See what I mean? It’s very typical for the sideline experts to pick and choose when to give credit to the coach and when to give credit to the players. It’s exhausting.. and predictable these days.

Worse Silsbee team… and better WOS team
Typical response. Silsbee won last year.. because of an idiot coach. Obviously. It was flipped this year because: “Worse Silsbee team… and better WOS team”
Got it.

Yes he's the same coach
You realize that I’m aware it’s the same coach, right? And the only reason I keep asking serves as a reminder that countless “sideline coaches” were calling for his termination… just a season ago.
That’s why. My pettiness has no bounds.
Few things are more satisfying to me in sports.
Coincidentally.. it will take several seasons for me to forget how the coaching staff was treated last year.

I gotta ask … this is the same coach as last year?

BC is much improved and Smalley is one of the top coaches in the area
Lumberton is young and back to the friendly Raider days and by the way has the coach that left after the talent was gone have a win at Palestine. NO
The previous AD at Palestine made $136,588. Maybe it was better to lose where he'd at least get paid. I don't know what Lumberton pays their AD.. but they aren't burning the world down in football either.

Crazy how much changes in such a short period of time.

I think most folks expected HF to be very good this year, So can't say they are over performing.
Ranked very high in preseason polls and picked by all the experts to win district.
They were my preseason pick to win district. Now I have WO-S winning district.
Do they have the same head coach that all of their fans wanted fired a year ago? Or did I miss something?

I would think that Anahuac should win.. However, Hardin has faired surprisingly better than I would've thought. If I had to put money I'd go with Anahuac but I'm predicting Hardin to give them more than they want.

The first of many games where Tarkington administration will question whether or not the added high school enrollment was really worth it.

Also, it's difficult to govern in bigger cities (like the Metroplex) due to apartment complexes. Kids can literally change their permanent address easily and often. It's difficult to determine if they've moved for athletic purposes instead of their family relocating for whatever reason. Unless it's actually said.. which is unlikely.
And becoming a student that live within the school district makes it less of a red flag.
