Congratulations to Coach HH and the entire staff for representing SETX and 9-4AD2. Coaches have stuck to their process and now that they have better talent they have achieved higher results. Coaches have produced high level game plans and made strategic in game adjustments as they have since they took over at WOS. Now, all roads lead to Carthage who have a better player at nearly every position other than MLB and possibly a DL spot. Friday's outcome will not be the result of incompetent coaching, and it will most definitely not be because WOS ran a "50 defense" instead of a "50 defense". Regardless of the final result Coaches and WOS players have done a great job and even more so given the poison from segments of the fan base.9 points

Rude and crude is one thing. But making comments like that when a man and his wife are murdered by their son? That's so out of line and disrespectful. Makes him no different than the folks he was criticizing for their comments after Kirk was killed. Very two faced. We are not debating policies here. Just be a descent human being. Something I expect my president to be. Just needs to be more respectful. Not hard to do.5 points -

Let it go man, why do yall insist on disrespecting that man? What did he do to yall? It's his team , his players, his coaching staff, his support staff! Nobody else deserves credit for what this team is doing. Would you go to work and put forth that effort for a week, a month, a year? And then have someone get the accolades, or the money, or credit for the work you've done??? Are there any other coaches that you think their accomplishments are due to something they may have learned or picked up from someone else? What individuals doing any kind job do you know, that didn't learn something from someone else, including yourself?? The only coach I see on this site who can't get credit for the positive things that happen during his tenure is Hickman, but let one bad play happen, one loss, one miscue, and it's 1000% his fault, maybe he learned those bad plays from someone too5 points

Here is my 2 cents that probably means absolutely nothing.... First, This is one of those things I wish he would of kept his mouth shut.... It would have probably served him better. Someone's death is not the time to get the last word..... However, Trump has been delt some bad hands since 2016. He has been accused of being a Nazi, Racist, Pedophile , mentally unfit, crook and probably more I don't remember. There is now evidence, and pretty good evidence that he was set up to fail by the Obama administration, the Hillary administration started the Russia hoax, Biden admin and certain states used Lawfare to try and bankrupt him and send him to jail, and at his age, would of been a life sentence.....and in this political climate there was 2 assassination attempts on his life, one being an inch from ending his life..... Reiner was a very loud critic of Trump, he helped launch a committee to investigate the Russian hoax (and never admitted it was a hoax), called him unfit to serve, called him a Fascist, claimed Trump was gong to end Democracy, wanted to charge Trump with TREASON (death sentence), wanted Trump to spend the rest of his life in prison..... There was some bad blood between the two, and if we are all being honest, our opinions of people do not change when someone dies. Again, he should of kept his mouth shut, but I can see his motivation to speak out.4 points -

Carthage fan here apologizing for the error made in my very first post on this site in the Sinton thread. I posted the score of a 2008 Rockdale-Carthage playoff game as being a WO-S-Carthage game. I was relying on a website which listed all Carthage playoff games, which go back to the 40s. The lesson is not to believe everything you read! WO-S is on quite a roll. Says a lot about the character of a team to overcome the adversity of starting a season 2-3 by winning 10 straight to get to the state championship game. Expecting a great game Friday between two schools with impressive pedigrees…and some great athletes.4 points -

I could care less what Reiner or any other of those Hollywood folks have to say about politics or people. They are idiots and not important to me. POTUS is important to me and what he says or does or how he carries himself in the position of the office is important to me. I believe there is a higher standard. At least there should be. Bottom line, Trump was wrong for making those comments. It was completely unnecessary. It's not what I want MY PRESIDENT to do. Show some respect. show some class. It really isn't that hard to do. I hold Trump and any President to a higher standard. That's how it should be.3 points -

Numbers 4-7 are spot on. There’s no question many things were changed those first two years and the facts show it didn’t turn out for the better. Beginning last year they got back to more of what made Mustang football so successful and the results are speaking for themselves. He and his staff have earned more respect. I just feel very badly for the kids that played those first two seasons. All their young life they dreamed of wearing that silver hat and following in the footsteps of those that played before them and they were caught up in an experiment that went wrong. Many don’t actually place alot of the responsibility on Hickman and his staff for that, it mainly fell on the previous superintendent Ricky Harris. He wanted so badly to show the world that WO-S could be successful doing things differently and with a different style and we all seen how that turned out. Good luck to Hickman and his staff and the Mustangs on Friday. Orange is proud of yall.3 points -

Welp surly, I don't care what your team has done throughout the season or playoffs. This is my opinion. Why does Carthage play in high school D2 anyway when clearly, they should be playing UT or D1, and not WOS according to some people. Nobody is blaming the coaches if we are unsuccessful. I along with others don't care who says it over and over in order to get a reaction to start crap. We are blessed to have talented young men who have and will continue to win and represent Orange. Then, there are other schools who will never ever win district and their only reason for coming on this site is to create a stink and antagonize others.3 points -

Bryan didn’t miss a midrange jumper that whole game! It was tight the entire game too! Great matchup with that 6A team! They were also a good free throw shooting team and super athletic. BC has improved at the line throughout the season. Only going to get better! They seem to be fixing the little mistakes made earlier on. Small defensive mistakes keep catching them. Overall, very proud of those boys. They held their own against those big schools. Great shooting, finishing and teamwork by Denison and Bush. Silveira had an incredible game against Montgomery. Mungy was just Mungy…can’t say enough there. Bush had seven 3s in the championship and finished the weekend averaging 20.2ppg. Congrats to Bush and Mungy on All-Tournament Team.3 points -

To all my stangs brothers and sisters on here.its great to be back in Texas!!;great win I see.wos#1 fan probably one of the insightful people you may know on here.brings me to a scripture prov 12:1 to learn, you must love discipline;it is stupid to hate correction.it leads to wisdom!! With that been said HH has truly took on the assignment head on and won.it real doesn't matter what happens in the state game because he has already over achieved.cant blame someone for trying something different!! Even he will tell you he got back to what the kids know and the discipline that came with it.first few years he was trying to hard to fit in with the kids.where in practice kids pretty much did what they wanted too.ive seen it with my own eyes.i have even seen a player dad want to fight him because the kid lied and said a coach told him that he was the worse player in w.o history.and what no one on here knows.I know him really well and talk with him to leave that alone.so, HH didn't deserve that.!!at the end of the day the community wasn't exactly wrong about something's.even then instead of folding he went out and got an unsong hero who no one gives any credit too.is the new DC who is in sink on what they need to run on defense.so, no one on here could say they saw this coming!? #4 Jefferson has always been different every since little league.and his cousin Terrance Brown #34 helping him along the way.so, HH has to get a lot of credit once again.he learned not to change things just add too it.and that works. DRH and CT discovered something that brought the best out of orange,TX kids. the thing about this if you never saw the program from practice, games,to Saturday meeting and so on.and listening to what the board members had to say.some are truly outsiders watching the game.and the biggest one is never played here.a pair lips will say anything!! LLDRH !!!3 points

Yes, WOS coaches did not become "competent" or "smart", "all of a sudden". The program has been rounded into form with the same quality coaching that has been present and in practice since Day 1.3 points

I really hope Randle sends SOC and their coach packing. I honestly feel bad for their kids. Football should be a place to learn discipline. Have some role models. Their coach is 3/4 of the way across the field trying to fight other coaches and players. The UIL is truly cowards.3 points

He wasn't just a coach a leader.i don't know anyone who wouldn't have loved to play for him.i know many say we were spoiled for all the years we were winning.and now today's game has changed.but, the toughness he and CT expected out of all of us was unmatched.looking on FB it is sooo many ppl.sending love and support.and if y'all get a chance look at what Kevin smith wrote about him.its truly a sad day for all of us.as them kids get ready to play in the semifinals.we all gotta give the current staff credit for going back to the way things were.trust me they even tackling more in practice and even hitting the sled again after practice!! I truly believe HH learned the lesson of it wasn't broke don't try to fix it.LOL,OC well any way!! Congrats to Coach! I think he’s going to revitalize the program. He’s done the exact opposite of what Willis did on his side of the ball. The last couple of years he’s taken the talent Crosby has produced and put together some very salty units. Numbers may not always reflect it due to how inept our offenses have been which kept them on short fields and constantly losing the time of possession battle. Don’t be surprised if you see him rob one of the coordinators from North Shore, CE King or Summer Creek or one of those guys in those “co” positions. That’s where Crosby being basically 15-20 minutes away from those schools gives us the same advantage it does with the transfers. Being from East Texas I’m sure Coach Williams has some connections out there too. My only hope would be that the administration supports him financially and gives him at minimum the same three years they gave Willis to show improvement. He’s only 36 years old and this will be his first head coaching job so I expect some growing pains having to cut his teeth at the highest level of high school football in the country while playing with the short stack. We hit big time on the last two coordinators we hired so here’s to hoping we go 3/3.2 points -

I saw a video of Paul Hogan (Crocodile Dundee) talking about gun control some years ago. He said their gun laws were stupid. You could still possess a firearm, but the gun frame had to be in one end of the house while the unloaded magazine had to be in the other end. How that can be enforced is beyond me. They had a government ban on certain guns and a buyback program. Obviously, their gun “control” failed miserably at Bondi.2 points

Friend, those of us who know Mustang Nation in and out know how some in the community were feeling about the loses the Mustangs had for several years. That was then and this is now. Outsiders are looking for BS to start and hope others will join in. This week we focus on The Kids who have done their part along with our coaches in having a very successful season gain. If we continue to let the others bring negative thoughts towards us, then it will trickle down to the team. We know who we are, and as Flo the old girl form Mel's diner would say" Let them all kiss all our grits" the entire bowl. 99 I'm trying not to get you to edit me but it's getting hard Imma keep it cute LOL.2 points

This is exactly why you want originalists in the Court vs. liberal revisionists. Originalists interpret intent & principles that apply across the decades. Those who say the Constitution is a ‘living document’ are full of it. Free speech (1st Amendment), right to bear arms (2nd), illegal search (4th), etc. principles remain the same as original intent whether the Framers knew about social media, specific firearms or not. Same with the other bedrock principles. The principles remain the same, and are just applied to current. Anything above that, and judges aren’t interpreting—which is their charge. They’re legislating. Which isn’t their arena.2 points

Going between La Porte & Beaumont, Port Arthur, Port Neches, Nederland, etc. isn't a bad drive as long as I-10 isn't messed up. Any further west or south of La Porte gets to be a mess as you get into more of the metro congestion. La Porte is kind of the end of the road on the east side before the metro-mess. Just don't let @Big Daddy Cool drive, or who knows where you'll wind up. Louisiana is a good bet.2 points
