    JUNETEENTH

That’s it! I am not voting for Trump in 2028!!

  2. The way he handled himself in 2016 with Covid, Russia Gate, Sexual harassment charges from the 1800's, then aftermath of Jan 6th, New York, Georgia, survived two assassination attempts and the man still played golf and won the popular vote. In comparison, this is a walk in the park. While he makes the final decisions, he's got a ton of advisors and support staff. My prediction is Iran makes a deal and we don't get involved (although there is enough support to warrant it) and Russia/Ukraine is done before Christmas,

I think we’re at 15 now. We could stand for a few of them to be recognized days, but not Holidays. There’s also been talk about businesses rotating the Holidays… these four this year, those four next year, etc. I don’t think Trump spoke out of turn- I think he was whistling at a group of his supporters who aren’t happy that the last two federal holidays were gifts to the African American Community. But he’s not alone- I had a black co-worker make the argument only black people should have Juneteenth off, lol. Fanning the fires of racism never goes out of style, I guess.

  6. Absolutely not. Article II in the Constitution makes the president the Commander-In-Chief of all US military forces. Article I grants Congress the authority to declare war but doesn’t define a war. For example, when Obama authorized the military to invade a sovereign country, Pakistan, for the purpose of killing or capturing Osama Bin Laden, he did not seek congressional approval nor should he have. Is capturing a terrorist a “war” requiring Congress to approve beforehand? Should there be a debate for a few days and a public vote to authorize such an action? Sorry but that is nonsense. After America withdrew from Vietnam, Congress enacted the War Powers Resolution (or Act)… which is probably unconstitutional but that’s not the point at the moment. The WPR requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of a military action and to keep Congress informed for the next 60 days. They can then decide to declare war, authorize further action or demand withdrawal. The act also allows for a 30 day withdrawal period. Note that the Korean War, Vietnam War and two Gulf Wars have been conducted without a declaration of war. So since 1945 the US has conducted at least 4 major wars…. without Congress having declared war. But wait!! Now they want to declare a war in order for the Commander-In-Chief to act? 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah, let’s start NOW!! Forget 80 years of not declaring a war. In any case, the WPR allows the president to act and notify Congress within 48 hours. They have been notified. The WPR allows the president 60 to conduct military actions and 30 more days to withdraw without congressional approval. Next question?

I read a first hand account from a former slave who was a child when Juneteenth occurred. He said that everyone was summoned to the main residence, helped prepare a big meal, then their former owner announced that they were free. Welcome to stay, but free to go. The man said that his family left the same day and traveled as far as they could, then realized that they had no money or food… it wasn’t easy. I think it’s a very worthy day for us to celebrate.

  9. Lufkin lost half of that 2024 team. New Coach Abseck, new system for the kids from the past 30 years. Building and changes take some time. We will see how this season develops. Absecks first indoctrination to play IN Longview, if you have never played there you will never forget the experience, it will live in your head forever. They will crush your spirit if they get that chance. IMO if PAM with all that talent doesn't win district and go at least 3 rounds you have to wonder how that goes for their program in 2026. Lots of talent on that team. I came away from our game last season at PAM knowing we had hung on to beat a really talented group of kids. Sometimes you just don't know what makes the difference. Barbers Hill was talented last year and loaded with skilled sophomores, that talent is still there, AND if key injures had not occurred for them last season we will never know. A new coach and optimism for them, Abseck had built something there and in many ways BH will be the benefactor of that this year. Thought a young 2024 Westbrook group looked good at times, you could see the flashes of talent, and with the right coaching could be a surprise in the district. If Beaumont United finds their offense, I thought their D was quite decent last year, another new coach. Galveston Ball may have graduated some key guys but there is some talent returning for them this year and a new coach.. I don't know much about them and Baytown Sterling.

They have the 2nd most quality starts with 35, given up the 3rd fewest HR with 71, has the most K's as a staff with 716 (only team in AL with 700 or more). Lead the league in opponent on base average with .217 and lead the league in WHIP with 1.14. Houston doing all this with several key players on the IR.

  22. For a surgical strike that needed to be done, and required speed and secrecy for effectiveness and safety, I agree with POTUS authority. For any prolonged authorization, Congress needs to approve. Sadly, in our current state of affairs, we have too many sympathizers, grandstanders, purposeful leakers and--quite frankly--people exhibiting almost traitorous behavior to put a strike like this up for debate. When even the IAEA says Iran has nuclear material for offensive war use, and has sanctioned them for violations, it's time to do something.

  28. I've heard two scenarios for the "up to two weeks" decision. But first, let's not confuse some here. He said up to two weeks, could be tomorrow. Anyway... 1) He may want to take the full two weeks to possibly give the Shah's son enough time to start the movement to regain control of Iran. 2) If nothing is done by two weeks, it was stated that Israel has probably assured Trump that they will/can take care of the nuclear site. As an addition: I heard that Israel could possibly drop the 30,000 pound bunker busters by refitting a 767. So...

  35. Only thing I'm 101% sure about is this district going undefeated 1st round of the playoffs again. 😎🤷🏾‍♂️ Below is my prediction from last season: I don't see anyone going undefeated in district play this season. I think if healthy we go at best 9-1, at worst 8-2, maybe 7-3, have to see how that Dekaney game goes. I have a similar prediction for this upcoming season, but swap out Dekaney for Hightower. 39. Donald Trump's business dealings with other countries while he was president have been a subject of significant scrutiny and raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest and violations of the Emoluments Clause. Key Points: Refusal to Divest: Unlike previous presidents who have typically placed their business interests in a blind trust, Trump did not divest from his extensive business holdings, the Trump Organization, while in office. Foreign Government Payments: Reports indicate that Trump's businesses received millions of dollars from foreign governments during his presidency, leading to allegations of violating the Emoluments Clause, which prohibits the president from accepting gifts or emoluments from foreign governments without Congressional consent. Congressional Report Findings: A House Oversight Committee report revealed that Trump's businesses received at least $7.8 million from officials and governments of 20 countries, with significant payments from China, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Lack of Divestment for Second Term: In anticipation of a potential second term, the Trump Organization revised its ethics policy, allowing for a broader range of transactions with foreign partners and counterparties, including foreign governments. This raises further concerns about potential conflicts of interest. Lawsuits and Legal Challenges: Several lawsuits were filed against Trump regarding his business dealings and potential Emoluments Clause violations. However, these lawsuits were ultimately dismissed as moot by the Supreme Court after he left office, meaning there was no definitive judicial ruling on the matter. Delayed Disclosure of Foreign Trademarks: Trump waited until after leaving office to disclose hundreds of foreign trademarks he owns, including a significant number in China. This delay raised concerns about the lack of transparency regarding his foreign asset holdings during his presidency. Examples of Potential Conflicts: Examples include the Trump Organization's trademarks granted by foreign governments, such as China, and real estate projects with connections to foreign governments, particularly in the Middle East.

I think Trump said it best when he was confronted by a reporter about being a King. He basically said everything he tries to do he has to go through hell to accomplish.....That does not sound like a King to me...... You also hit on a point about what the 2024 election was about. ICE is actually following the laws set up and passed by congress. Democrats protesting that I believe are not going to do well in the mid-terms. They are trying to create something that does not exist.
