I think if you had true football capitalism it would not go the way you think it would go lol The process is imperfect because its based on human judgement which is imperfect and thats not taking into account the process where humans willfully aren't honest on the forms....BUT based on the rules today that opens the door for circumvention of the rules in place. If I were in charge I'd try to get rid of judgment as much as possible and make it black and white...no more transferring for athletic purposes questions on the form..its residency and residency alone...BUT I'd have more robust compliance arm of the UIL to check into residency questions and not leave that to the schools... The only question is..where do I come up with the money to pay the salaries of this compliance arm5 points -

I get out plenty and talk with many people in the coaching industry. I know exactly how wild the DFW area is with the transferring but my point is all these players were ruled eligible by all ruling committees. As for the complaining. My point was the vast majority of it comes from the team who loses to the team accused of cheating. Is it justified? To a point, yes. But knowing who some of you are on here that have posted or liked comments on this thread (including you) and what their school association is, my point has been proven. Like I stated before, policy needs improving.5 points -

**AUG. 13-15 SCRIMMAGES**/Post info and updates here
KF89 and 2 others reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
You know as well as I do that scrimmages are run mostly not like real games. In controlled scrimmages there's no kicking game involved, there is no returning of interceptions or fumbles, no tackling of the QB (so no sacks that would put the down and distance different), plays are limited to a certain number therefore a team could be driving but reach their limit of plays, since no kickoffs ball always starts on the 30, 2nd and 3rd teams play (which in most cases they never see the field in games as an entire unit), the play clock is not used so therefore there are no delay of game penalties, etc. etc. Most importantly, there are no won/loss records that include scrimmages. Now, if all high school scrimmages were run just like NFL preseason games, then I could see where one could claim a win or a loss. Even the NFL doesn't keep up with scrimmages between two teams which happens a lot. Most times two teams that play a preseason game will scrimmage each other a day or so beforehand. There are no scores or wins or losses accounted for in those. Even when high school scrimmages are "game like" they are never 100% game like. Most times there is a running clock and the play clock is not used accurately. Let's be honest, there are just too many variables that come into play or not come into play in controlled scrimmages where a win or loss can be claimed. I think it's find to state that one team "dominated, had the upper hand, put a hurting on, etc." on the other team. Particularly when it's obvious that one team is much better than the other or in some cases the team is much worse than the other. To put a win or a loss in a scrimmage is just not an accurate way to assess a scrimmage in my opinion.3 points -

There are no winners in a scrimmage. It’s ludicrous to think otherwise. The rules are different and what could be a touchdown in a game is a whistled dead call in a scrimmage. A scrimmage is a practice against another team and try to work out any issues that it exposes. I suppose that when the team practices on Tuesday afternoon, you would ssy that they won practice! 🤣🤣🤣3 points -

wbfan and 2 others reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
Just spoke with an High Island school official. HI will be playing in TCAL for all their athletics. Doesn't mean that some of their athletic teams will not play UIL teams in non-district because they will play some of those schools. Just won't be participating in any districts in UIL athletics. High Island will have a varsity football team this coming season unlike last year. Will remain a 6 man football team.3 points -

In regards to Faith Family, I think that's a case of apples and oranges. Charter schools should never be allowed to play UIL or at least have to play 6A. There is a reason why Faith Family no longer plays UIL. As for the Houston teams, that can be viewed as the same as SOC. But like I said, the complaining still came from the losing team. Personally, I didn't have much issue with Silsbee losing to Yates or Washington (we did beat them more than they beat us). I did have issue with Faith Family. They never belonged in UIL.3 points -

Coldspring at Teague 8/13/26
AggiesAreWe and one other reacted to 59n Sports for a topic
Coldspring traveled to Teague Thursday night to start officially start the Chad Allen era in Trojan nation. The energy Coldspring showed with the new staff was off the chain. Running the spread the offensive schemed looked good with Quivey averaging 4 yards per carry. looks like he may be the leading rusher for the Trojans. They have a battle for the Qb spot and that will be interesting to see how it plays out. Having several receivers that can be play makers I look for the trojans to be able to throw the ball around through the season. On the defensive side of the ball the Trojans looked fair. seemed overall a little small but athletic, The 3/4 front they ran seemed to let the Lions gain few extra yards per carry, but it was the first scrimmage of the season. I am pretty optimistic on the Trojans this year and think it will be a battle for them to make the playoffs and could come down to the final game of the season for the Trojans.2 points -
Caroline Leavitt has done a great job of covering and protecting Trump. Air Force 1 was a suspect terror target. He boarded a military plain and allowed the rest of his staff, including her, to take off. She steps down a week or so later. She may have realized her value to Trump. Just a theory.2 points

for sure, if it's legit. I truly don't know. Hard to trust stuff coming out of DISD sometimes... In 2025 DISD had only 11 Ds and 2 Fs out of over 200 schools. I find that pretty unbelievable. To put that into perspective, BISD had 7 Ds and 7 Fs with only 23 campuses last school year. That said, if DISD's score are truly accurate then that's a definite eye opener to how dysfunctional BISD has been.2 points

Sounds like someone wants some cheese with their whine! Graduated from EC many years ago, and when you have a school that is all around strong in everything from athletics to UIL to FFA, etc. the school sales itself. Why would people not want their kids go to a school that is as well balanced and competitive in every aspect of school life.2 points -

Did a little digging since we always have this question come up. Here's the history between La Porte & Port Arthur. La Porte vs Port Arthur History This year’s District 9-5A D1 game will be the 34th all time meeting between La Porte and Port Arthur. La Porte first faced Port Arthur Jefferson in 1922. This rivalry dates back 104 years! This season will be the 34th game played between the two cities. Port Arthur Jefferson closed in the late 90's and Port Arthur Memorial became the school in Port Arthur in 2002. Here is the breakdown of the last 33 meetings! Americans still waiting on their tariff check but instead it’s been sent to the big corporations that gouged us to compensate for the tariffs that were implemented. DOGE disappeared like a fart in the wind. Still waiting for the concept of a health care plan that would do away with Obamacare. Of the 250 years of debt Trump has created 25% of it in 5 1/2 years and he still has 2 1/2 years to go. Average Americans are still waiting on affordability but the Iran war took precedence. I’m team limited government capitalism. It’s the team that has created more ‘haves’ than any other system in the world, and many—if not most—of those who think they’re ’have-nots’ would be ‘haves’ in much of the rest of the world.2 points -
Fairly simple for the coaches who are “sick of it”: 1. Regulate it through their membership on the DEC. 2. Don’t sign off on transfers. **The reason they don’t follow these steps is because they have similar in their own programs. Every school in Texas receives players and loses players.2 points

Not the players huh?!?! So, when Vidor was playing against players like James Brown, Leeland McElroy, Tiki Hardeman, Adam Dunn, Clint Stoerner and a ton of other players... Vidor had a chance if they had better coaching?!?! Or when Vidor's heaviest offensive lineman is 200lbs playing across from D-lineman that avg. 250... not the players, huh? Or when Vidor's fastest player runs a high 4.7 and their opponent has multiple players run 4.6 or better... not the player's, huh? Better coaching would have those players running faster and putting on more weight and would of had them competing against players who had great high school, college, and pro careers, huh?!?!1 point
