    CNN and ABC

Mt. Rushmore In 1996, Bill Clinton visited during his re-election campaign. ABC News called it a place where American ingenuity and American creativity came together and formed an amazing American accomplishment. In 2008, when Barrack Obama campaigned there, CNN called Mt. Rushmore a majestic site and every president should visit it. In 2016, Bernie Sanders campaigned there and said he was humbled to be in the presence of 4 of the greatest American presidents. CNN described the scene as awe inspiring In 2020, Trump visits......CNN called at a celebration of white supremacy and Trump will stand before two former slave owners on land wrestled away from Native Americans. No agendas here, right?

  2. Memorial has done a great job since it opened up. it also has been a small fish in a big pond, spending most of it's time playing in the now 6A where schools were often twice the size of the Titans. When PA had three school, the enrollments of their opponents were comparable. Lincoln was also blessed to have hall of fame level coaching and a few guys good enough to play basketball at the highest level. Coach Coleman did an excellent job to get the Titans to the promised land. That was a great group of kids and coaches and the town should be proud. The program is solid and most towns would be envious of the success they continue to have.

  3. “Systemic racism” Mr Cardinal is when the killing of Aubury happened in Georgia and the killers weren’t even arrested although all the evidence was there. The killers were protected by the system. “Systemic racism” is what you mentioned on another thread about HBCU degrees being looked at as lesser. I feel like you are allready aware that this exist but you are trying to downplay it. But just in case you needed help figuring out what it is those are 2 of many examples. Nobody has time to sit around and make shit up. These are real life situations blacks have to deal with. Are we completely hopeless? No. Do we sometimes make it harder on ourselves with our own decisions? Yes. Does pouting and being angry help? Hell no. Does all these sentimental changes they have going on help our cause? No. But systemic racism very much exist and people like you are very much a part of it because you pretend it’s not there while defending it

    10-4A-1 Who wins it.

Correct. 1st HH, 2nd Lumberton, 3rd LC-M, 4th BC I think that’s how it went. Lumberton had same district record as LC-M but beat LC-M head to head.

  7. If he wasn't going far away, I wish he was headed to Lamar. At least I'll get to see him twice a year. Talented kid. I hope he makes a lot of programs regret passing on him, including the one in Beaumont. If he was offered Lamar, I can't blame him for wanting to get away from home. Lake Charles is far enough away from Silsbee to force you to find new friends and grow out of your comfort zone. A talented kid that grows up in your backyard, you at least gotta ask, even if they're dead set on leaving home.

  8. I just can’t shake the feeling that this Tiger team will take a step back from the last 2 years due to the graduation of Martin and Taylor. I hope I’m wrong and Arline becomes that impact player that they’ll need. I think playoffs are a given, and hopefully these group of Tigers will be I’m their groove when the playoffs start.

  12. That dude graduated. Nice kid off the field. Lumberton did what it had to do to put the game out of reach. Remove some of the mistakes, maybe it's a different game. And I acknowledge mistakes are a big part of the game. I just don't believe Lumberton is heads and above anyone in this district.

  13. They didn’t catch him in the act of driving. They caught him sleep in the parking lot. He offered to walk home. I think they could have made sure he walked home and held his key till the next day or even better offered him a ride home. But I understand there are not a lot of cops who want to go above and beyond to “protect and serve”. Most just want to “do their job” and “reach their quotas”. So I understand they probably legally had a right to arrest him and he made a costly mistake by resisting. They did what they had to do at that point. After trial they will probably be acquitted because they were “legally” in the right.

  17. 1. The 3 instances you mentioned have been handled correctly so far and will go to trial. Were the teenage protesters being violent or vandalizing? The video I saw they were actually i their car. I didn’t even know they were protesting. The 2 policeman who killed the guy fleeing from them legally had the right I believe. They weren’t really in danger at the point of the shooting but they couldn’t just let him get away. He put his own life in danger with his actions. Now did they really have to try and arrest a guy for being sleep in a parking lot under the influence? I don’t think so being that he offered to walk home. But in the end they decided to arrest, he resisted, he got shot. I think the charges will be dropped after trial. As far as the 4 policemen in Minnesota, trainees or not, they took the job. Don’t take much training to know not to sit there and watch a guy murder a guy in handcuffs. They’ve obviously been trained wrong. If that’s the case they can plead their case in court. I’m all for it. Bring light to the whole crooked system

  19. 1. Aubury’s case was clearly a murder. Nothing was stolen from that house. The 2 killers were not officers at the time of the killing. They had no real reason to try and arrest him because they had no proof of their suspicions. They chased him all around the neighborhood before the portion of the video that was leaked. He changed directions several times trying to escape them. If not before then I’m pretty sure by that time he has a right to “stand his ground”. That “attack” perceived by people like you who want to see it that way was last minute survival instincts after being chased around the block and not being able to escape. The guy who recorded later stated that the shooter uttered “f*****g n****r” after shooting the victim. That proves the killing was racially motivated although they don’t have a hate crime law in Georgia. But that’s not what makes it “systemic racism”. Systemic racism is the fact that they would have never even been arrested and tried if the video had not been leaked 2 months later. This is the one time this type of thing came to the light. It has happened on other occasions and was never uncovered, 2. You just stated all lies about HBCUs. They have the same standards of other schools. They hire teachers of all races. Students are well equipped for whatever field they want to go into. Their considered second class institutions because blacks are considered second class human beings. It’s always been that way in America. At one point we were considered 2/3 of a human. Not sure that way of thinking is completely gone

  23. 'White" militias walk around bearing arms all the time. A few years ago a well armed group walked around in 3rd ward in Houston looking to start a fight with the BLM group. I guess blm has a headquarters over there somewhere. The black panthers showed up at the state building in Sacramento, Ca. That was mostly a photo op. Just gave gay FBI director Hoover a reason to hunt them down like dogs and kill them. I just found out that the guy who supplied guns to the panthers was an informant. So the authorities armed the panthers then turned around and labeled them as dangerous, so they could shoot them. Farrakhan: if folks on this msg board hate him that tells me to listen to him from time to time. I am strictly 7th day adventist christian. I didn't like the way they treated Malcolm X. HBCUs. Prairie View U is doing good things. More than just blacks are benefiting from that college. I have younger friends who have degrees from Prairie View that are living the American dreams, with jobs, and nice homes in places like Cypress, Tx. It is not all bad. My mom was a PV alum. and a teacher. What modicum of intelligence and literacy I have I owe to the good Lord, to my mom, and indirectly the HBCU PV. One of the best HBCUs is Oakwood U in Huntsville, AL. It is a predominantly black, 7th day adventist private HBCU. It sits on 100 acres inside of Huntsville, Al. Some of the best preachers and teachers to grace this planet have come from Oakwood. Not to mention doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, etc. They don't play organized sports, which are a waste of time & money. They do not have any of this clown show marching bands either. Also J Edgar Hoover was black. So was Prez Eisenhower, for what that is worth.

  27. There’s so much garbage info floating around these days from all angles. I know that there’s been a lot more testing lately, and I’m hearing of more and more people that are infected. I can think of five that I know right now and several awaiting results. That wasn’t the case a month ago.

  28. I heard this earlier and it makes sense for this topic. Some may recognize the lyrics... I'm ready to meet him Our Father who art in Heaven I'm not ashamed to ask for guidance at 27 No longer afraid to knock on your door Not scared anymore to lose my life in the war After what I just saw, I'm riding with the Lord 'Cause I really can't afford to lose my head by the sword For now that I've seen what I need to see Please take me where I need to be "What have you learned?" It's better to tell the truth than to lie "What have you learned?" To love my life until I die "What have you learned?" Violence isn't always the key "What have you learned?" You can't always believe what you see "What have you learned?" It's better to forgive and forget "What have you learned?" Give as you expect to get "What have you learned?" That I can't go on without you "What have you learned?" I must have been a fool to ever doubt you I'm ready to meet him 'cause where I'm living ain't right Black hate white, white hate black, it's right back to the same fight They got us suspecting a war But the real war is to follow the law of the Lord

  29. Things are bad and I’m afraid they’re about to get worse. The only light that I can see is if the mortality rate stays relatively low. We’ve seen a crush of new infections, but there hasn’t been an increase in deaths.... yet. Too many people pretending that things are all back to normal a little too early. I know of two kids getting tested mid-week last week... they’d been sharing a vape pen over the weekend with somebody who came down with it on Monday. I also have some extended family that all loaded up and went on vacay to Tennessee. Families from Jasper, Cypress, and Lum all went and stayed together. Some of them are awaiting test results right now. You just can’t do that right now. I was at a SMALL weddin(<40 people) last week and people kept encouraging me to “go meet all of his family.” Nope. Maybe when this plays out. I don’t even want to be around the people that I know right now.

  30. I just think it’s hilarious that we’re having a debate or that I have to defend black organizations from existing. When they only exist because they wasn’t included. White ppl do attend hbcu. Don’t be mad at facts hbcus bet pageants was founded so we can have a lane in which we were not represented. I can say We when I’m discussing the black community because I’m black so I am we. We do not mean we think the same. this is no longer a debate it’s pointless arguing.

  33. Bottom line food for thought. Sports have been one of the Few things Americans can come Together and just be Americans. A lot of stuff is getting politically on both sides . It’s gone take reasonable people on both sides to come up with reasonable solutions. If we wish to have our sports be about sports again.

My wife and I were engaged when they were coming out. We bought the first one as an audio book when we were going somewhere. Then we would go get the new ones as soon as they came out. If we didn’t have somewhere to go, we would find somewhere. I remember vividly having to pull over to the side of the road during the last one (somewhere between Jasper and Zavala as I recall). I remember discussing the John Coffey/Jesus Christ comparison. Great memories. My wife devours anything King as soon as it’s released. And we both agree that 100 years from now, he will he THE great American novelist (not that he isn’t already). Hemingway, Fitzgerald, etc are great, but no one has been as great AND prolific as King. Nobody.
