Jasper is Open... Crumedy leaving for FB Travis
The409Guy and 2 others reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
Think he applied there once before. Here too and we know how they both turned out. Now that the world has seen the results of the most talked about coaching hire SETXsports history. Maybe a former coordinator of a big rival would work for Jasper. Shoemaker was a 4th place finisher in 6A but just dropped to 5Ad1 in a tough district with the College Station and Pflugerville teams. I've also seen some prospect rankings that included some of his players. Not sure if he'd be interested at this point.3 points -
SCOTUS Rules Against Trump Administration IEEPA Tariffs

I don't like government interference in private lending markets. Protecting against predatory lending practices? Sure. Setting rates? No. This Administration has already interfered way too much in the free enterprise markets in my book. This is not what I expected from a supposedly conservative, free market Administration. We've got free trade manipulation, government purchasing majority stakes in private corporations and basically nationalizing them, and desires to limit the credit lender's ability to minimize risk in their own practices. While I don't think limiting some people's access to 'easy credit' is a bad thing, it's not government's job. The only thing government manipulation has ever done is interfere with the free market, and they have a horrible track record of picking winners and losers.2 points -
You’re making my post out to be more than it is. It was just a simple eye opening stat that I posted. I am aware mostly everyone’s 401 is doing well. Over the past 50 years, $79 trillion in wealth has been redistributed from the bottom 90% to the top 1% according to that "bastion of socialism" the Rand Corporation. And a large portion of that transfer of wealth has been since Covid. There were hundreds of thousands mom and pop businesses that were put out of business because of the plandemic.2 points

Pork Butt was $.99/lb. last week. I’m smoking it tomorrow, vacuum packing what we don’t eat for stuffed spuds, brisket enchiladas, & barbacoa tacos. We gat about 4 different meals for about $12.00 total for the main course. 😀2 points -

That’s an overreach… but i do like having a health department around to make sure that things are sanitary around those restaurants… food temps, extermination schedules , etc. But I doubt the guy who’s forced to buy a permit, then gets fined/shut down by the health department feels the same way.1 point -

Pretty sure he didn't apply for PN-G and Nederland jobs here recently. Also didn't apply for the last two Beaumont jobs when they were open. I think Toby has now pretty much has decided there is only one job here locally that he would leave Shoemaker for.1 point -

SCOTUS Rules Against Trump Administration IEEPA Tariffs
LumRaiderFan reacted to OlDawg for a topic
No. You don’t appear to see. The 9% was artificially inflated. The Feds raising the interest rates lowered the inflation rate more than anything the Biden Administration did. Somewhat similar to Trump. This Administration has hurt inflation coming down more due to tariff policy. The Feds maintaining a higher interest rate than needed are also affecting the slower pace of disinflation. The Fed is slowing down the drop on purpose. They want to ease into 2%. Not crash. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that if the Fed target is 2%, that 1/2% is a major change one way or other when not artificially inflated. If core inflation were to hit 3%, the Fed would immediately raise 50 basis points. That’s how big a 1/2% change is when the rate is close to target.1 point -
He definitely would’ve made a huge difference… as well as an another player that saw significant minutes off the bench last season and just decided not to play this year. They did get a couple guys to play that played last year halfway to the season. I think Joubert even having this team close to a playoff spot after what it lost from last year speaks volumes.1 point

SCOTUS Rules Against Trump Administration IEEPA Tariffs
DCT reacted to TheMissingBand for a topic
Tariffs have a place… but understand that it takes careful thought and planning to effectively administer them, fully understanding all of the potential outcomes. BUT, if you put a unilateral tariff on a foreign country from which your citizens seek to purchase goods, you’re simply forcing your own citizens to pay more for the things that they want and need. Secondly, your tariffs WILL result in a reciprocation from your target, quite simply put, they’ll stick one right back on the things we’re trying to sell to them, tamping down demand for the products that we export. It’s not a surprise to people that understand micro and macro economics that our trade deficit last year was the third highest ever recorded. The tariffs raised the cost of imported goods that Americans wanted, while simultaneously chilling the demand for American products abroad because other countries simply slapped tariffs on goods we’d like to export. It’s not a secret that the last president who took us down the tariff rabbit hole was named Herbert Hoover. [Hidden Content]1 point -
