  1. Not sure Republicans would do it anyway. They’re as bad as the Dems now. They may say they want cuts. But, they’re perfectly content to sit back until someone else does the cutting and takes the heat. House Freedom Caucus is the only group even trying to hold a budget. They’re the Ron Paul’s of this generation. Everyone calls them crazy troublemakers.

  2. UIL rules have changed that doesn't allow some teams to play warm up games these days. Teams now have game limits and once they have reached those limits, you are not allowed to play any extra unless it's for district seeding or play in games. Most teams these days play tournaments that are pool play which allows teams to play more tourney games. That adds up over the season. Also several play in multiple holiday jamborees which adds to their totals. Really the only teams that can play warm up games these days are teams that have to wait till football is over to start their basketball season. Sometimes that's two to three weeks after everyone else has started. Usually that is only in the 3A and down classifications. We still have some teams that will play warm up games this year. I have already received info on some of the games. I will be posting a Seed/Play In/Warm Up Game Info thread on Wednesday morning.

  4. I’m so tired of the games from both sides. Budget for 10% more on a program, cut it back to a 5% increase from previous year, and proudly announce the program was cut by 5%.

  9. As of early 2026, the Trump administration has significantly reduced the federal workforce, with reports indicating a decline of approximately 220,000 to over 300,000 federal positions since the start of his second term There’s some of your cut spending, how many presidents have talked about shrinking the government, and look here but of course….no credit given

  11. Our spending is a National Security Issue. Our government can’t even pass an audit if it wanted to because it’s so big it can’t even police itself. The spending fraud is staggering.

  12. The problem that we’re in now is that with 39 Trillion in debt, we can’t stand anymore tax cuts. “Trickle Down” is a proven long-term failure. Yes, it gives the economy a short term bump, like when Reagan cut taxes and primed the economy in the early 80s… but it lead to the tax increases under HW Bush that had to happen. We’re about 10 years too late on increasing taxes to slow the growth of the debt, and it’s gonna look like the austerity period in Greece around here if it ever happens. Unfortunately, we’ve got the Bankrupter-in-Chief calling the shots and everybody on both sides of the aisle in Congress knows that the only way to keep their job is by promising gifts to the voters who are largely selfish and stupid. Tariffs aren’t the answer, tax cuts aren’t the answer…. We’ve got to cut our spending and that’s harder than ever now that the interest in our debt is the second largest component of our federal spending. At this point more tax cuts are like getting a payday loan to buy a steak when you’ve already got them all over town. Cut spending, but not just on the other guys’ projects… cut something you love.

  13. Hopefully not. Partial gridlock (POTUS one Party & Congress the other) is typically good for the Market and the economy as a whole. Business can plan. No wild swings one way or the other on policy. Settles people down on divisive social issues. Sort of a ‘cool down’ timeout. Impeachment is historically very bad for the economy. Why would anyone want the people to suffer when POTUS couldn’t run again anyway? That would be the epitome of stupid.

  15. Silsbee assistant coach Ira Brooks will be coaching his last home game tomorrow night. Coach Brooks will be retiring at the end of this season. Coach Brooks has been coaching at Silsbee for 32 years. He has been a mainstay and key component to the success of the Tiger Basketball program. His JV teams have always been successful and have won many district championships even when several freshmen and sophomores were playing varsity. Coach Brooks has earned the respect and love from many coaches in our area. He has been a fantastic coach but an even better man. He will be missed. Congrats to my friend Ira.

    Vance / Rubio 2028

Trump has done well on the 80/20 issues - If Democrats want to be competitive they need to get away from abolish ICE and any gender related issues. Also, if They take control of house and/or senate and try the impeachment road, that will be a positive for Vance and Rubio.

  17. I’m with you. I’ve raised hell with him about his support for the “party of austerity” for years. The really rich folks know they’ll get to keep theirs (even if they have to convert to gold) and don’t really care about anyone else’s financial ruin.

  20. Hard to justify what you can’t see. You sure have a lot of faith in our DOJ, I personally don’t. The victims attorneys sent over a list of names of the clients telling them not to unredact their names because they didn’t want them public and what did Bondi’s DOJ do? They released all the names of the victims that they specifically said not to release. I have ZERO FAITH OR TRUST IN OUR DOJ!

  21. Orangefield school board has set a bond election for May 2 for improvements to athletic facilities. The improvements will be turf to football, baseball and softball fields as well as expanded seating, additional lighting and additional parking. Also new pressbox at the football stadium. These are much needed upgrades. Hopefully it will pass this time.

  22. Is that kinda like where there is smoke, there is fire? Good thing there’s zero smoke around Epstein. Lol Where is all the video footage of his pinhole camera at his front door at his place in NY along with footage from his island and ranch in New Mexico. There is so much I believe that hasn’t been released and scrubbed. The CIA and FBI are running the show imo. You are surely free to have your opinion. But I am not buying it. Heck Mr ShipwreckedCrew may be CIA or FBI.

  25. How ? - there are several law suits currently in progress challenging the cuts he did make. If he made more, it would get even worse. Congress won't do it because Republicans don't have enough votes with Republicans in left leaning districts.

  29. Y’all literally did this to us. Canceled pensions, ran up debts, etc… Baby Boomers were self entitled jerks who took full advantage of the American Dream and made sure that no one else coming behind them will have a shot at the same thing. And there’s never been a more “Nero” president than the boomer that’s in office right now… tearing down the East Wing of the White House to build a gilded ballroom during the last shutdown. The fact that you would bring up Nero and not recognize the resemblance of DJT to Nero is just more proof of the disconnect between boomers and everybody else.

  35. State Representation, among funding for other things, etc., is apportioned by the official census once every 10 years. It doesn’t matter if a person is legal or illegal. All that matters is they are present, and fill out the census honestly as far as their residency. Citizenship is not currently a question. In effect, someone in the country illegally CAN affect representation which CAN affect Electoral votes. Basically, the number of people in a State is less important than the number of people in a State that actually participate in the census. Sounds silly. But, that’s the way it works. That’s why there’s always a big push to make sure illegals know they won’t be deported if they fill out the census, and everyone else is pushed to participate. States want their representation, Electoral votes, and funding. California had fewer people fill out the 2020 census than the 2010 census. The reason why doesn’t matter. But, we know from data that CA had one of the largest migrations out of State of any State in the Union. Texas was reversed in the period 2010-2020. Lastly, for someone to assume all Latino/Hispanics are homogenous and automatically vote Democratic is—at best—naive—and at worst—a bad stereotype. That’s wording it as nicely as I can.

    Drug Murder in Silsbee

I'm not certain where you get your information but it is off! First thing is the drug deal was set up in Silsbee. Jeremiah Grant, Bruce Newton, and Kyriq Wyatt. This was set up as a robbery by these 3 from Silsbee. Wyatt and Newton have been charged in this case and awaiting trial. Text messages showed these 3 set this robbery up. Luckily defense attorneys was able have phones checked and found out this was a setup. If not for good lawyer or police work, these 3 would be going to jail for murder. The 3 from Groves went to Silsbee to purchase the drugs. Grant sold the drugs to the driver Decuir. Once he had the money Grant pulled his gun on Decuir and demanded the weed back. When he didn't give it back, Grant pulled his gun and shot Decuir. He then turned his gun towards the back seat at Pfeffer and Pheffer shot him before Grant could shoot him. Emily wasn't pregnant nor has she ever owned a gun. Pheffer and Emily was at home asleep when Dequir called and asked Pheffer to ride with him to Silsbee and Emily went with her boyfriend. Where the group from groves made the mistake was hiding the weed and throwing Grant out of the front seat. Dequir was shot in the chest and was able to get out and help move Grant out onto the street. If they would have called the police right away, I don't believe Ranols or Pfeffer would have been charged with anything. That was clearly self defense and the jury felt that way too. Moving that body and drugs cost himself going to jail. Pfeffer more or less was found guilty of moving the body and drugs and having a gun during a drug deal. It seems like the other 2 that set this robbery up should have went to court at the time or before. Needless to say what in the hell was people going to Silsbee to buy drugs from someone they didn't know?
