Carthage fan here apologizing for the error made in my very first post on this site in the Sinton thread. I posted the score of a 2008 Rockdale-Carthage playoff game as being a WO-S-Carthage game. I was relying on a website which listed all Carthage playoff games, which go back to the 40s. The lesson is not to believe everything you read! WO-S is on quite a roll. Says a lot about the character of a team to overcome the adversity of starting a season 2-3 by winning 10 straight to get to the state championship game. Expecting a great game Friday between two schools with impressive pedigrees…and some great athletes.

Here is my 2 cents that probably means absolutely nothing.... First, This is one of those things I wish he would of kept his mouth shut.... It would have probably served him better. Someone's death is not the time to get the last word..... However, Trump has been delt some bad hands since 2016. He has been accused of being a Nazi, Racist, Pedophile , mentally unfit, crook and probably more I don't remember. There is now evidence, and pretty good evidence that he was set up to fail by the Obama administration, the Hillary administration started the Russia hoax, Biden admin and certain states used Lawfare to try and bankrupt him and send him to jail, and at his age, would of been a life sentence.....and in this political climate there was 2 assassination attempts on his life, one being an inch from ending his life..... Reiner was a very loud critic of Trump, he helped launch a committee to investigate the Russian hoax (and never admitted it was a hoax), called him unfit to serve, called him a Fascist, claimed Trump was gong to end Democracy, wanted to charge Trump with TREASON (death sentence), wanted Trump to spend the rest of his life in prison..... There was some bad blood between the two, and if we are all being honest, our opinions of people do not change when someone dies. Again, he should of kept his mouth shut, but I can see his motivation to speak out.

Rude and crude is one thing. But making comments like that when a man and his wife are murdered by their son? That's so out of line and disrespectful. Makes him no different than the folks he was criticizing for their comments after Kirk was killed. Very two faced. We are not debating policies here. Just be a descent human being. Something I expect my president to be. Just needs to be more respectful. Not hard to do.

Completely unnecessary from Trump. Just doesn't make any sense to do that. It certainly isn't very presidential.

Y'all really sound like some losers talking about "why doesn't Carthage opt to play up?" Like, why would they do that? They are squarely in the middle of D2 numbers. Because they are successful? The schools mentioned that opted to play up probably did so for travel purposes, not because they thought it would be fair to the rest of D2.

Orangefield handled HJ more easily than they did BC earlier this year even though they were both convincing wins for us. However, HJ had their football guys and BC didn't. BC is a different team with Mungy on the floor and he is the catalyst that gets Bush going. No knock on HJ at all, but I got BC by 15.

HJ has been up and down as expected, but they're starting to click winning 5 of their last 6. I would be surprised if this one is "ugly."

Looks like all of current 12-5A D1 stays except Buda Hayes. They're now 6A. So, it would be an 8 team district if it stays as is. That makes R3 have 33 teams again--including Lufkin. Three districts of 8 & one district with 9.

That would be the 4th district then...the current 12-5A. I'll have to see if any of them moved a classification. I didn't check that.

With that logic, would you have a problem with a school just 4 off from being in a lower division "opting down"....you know, for "travel" purposes? (I realize it's not an option). UIL should just make people play in the classification they are supposed to be in. It's ridiculous to "opt up" to get an easier path.

Kingwood Park may have thought they had escaped D1, but no such luck. Crosby, what can I say? Say hello to North Shore, Summer Creek, Atascocita, and C,E. King! Some teams will have to face both Randle and Iowa Colony in district.

In SETX, schools only opt up to play against lesser competition. Travel is not a factor.

Well in Bridge City's case, it was to get an easier path to the playoffs. They opted up to avoid having WO-S and Silsbee in their district.

I think it’s time for a different way to count the kids. The state knows exactly how many kids are in each school because they send “x” amount of dollars per kid, per day to the school districts. So, by knowing how much money is sent to the school districts you would know how many kids they have in attendance.

That's for classifications, not divisions. I know of several schools that played DI football but played DII basketball and baseball in the playoffs. It was determined by what schools qualified for playoffs. Barbers Hill and Port Arthur Memorial all play 5A DI football. Both played in the 5A DII basketball playoffs. Beaumont West Brook and Beaumont United were the DI representatives in basketball out of that district. Heck, there were even some cases where a school played DII football but ended up playing DI in basketball playoffs.

Reiner has spoken about Trump his entire political career (as you have pointed out) speech that could easily cause a crazy to take a shot at Trump. He put money behind the Russia investigation, has said Trump is unfit to serve, said he was destroying democracy and wanted to serve as an authoritarian, as well as targeting Republicans in general, with the same hate speech. If you want to be spoken about kindly, maybe not try to ruin someone’s life with lies.

The difference is one was a political assassination, while the other was an internal family matter. Neither should be condoned. Just like disrespecting either death shouldn't be condoned.

I agree. SP is too lazy on defense. Also, no real structure on offense. Particularly when they get down. It's mostly one on one trying to shoot three's. Big Sandy will give them problems in district but SP should win it. As for playoffs, they will go DI. Being that they are in Region IV, hard to tell how they will fare. They are fortunate that they are in IV and not III with San Augustine. Port Aransas and Mumford will be strong out IV.

This I know. They also had Brock ranked above Carthage. And the DCTF Computer AI algorithm that everyone loves had them 3 pts better. Point is they play on the field for a reason. Nobody laying down and taking it from Carthage this week. It will be game.

Welp surly, I don't care what your team has done throughout the season or playoffs. This is my opinion. Why does Carthage play in high school D2 anyway when clearly, they should be playing UT or D1, and not WOS according to some people. Nobody is blaming the coaches if we are unsuccessful. I along with others don't care who says it over and over in order to get a reaction to start crap. We are blessed to have talented young men who have and will continue to win and represent Orange. Then, there are other schools who will never ever win district and their only reason for coming on this site is to create a stink and antagonize others.

The Stangs got their hands full for sure. I knew that when Carthage beat Texas Tech in a preseason scrimmage. Don't sell the ponies short, they'll bring it for sure. Bring it home Mustangs.

It took some of the kids from SOC to demand better facilities. It's documented.

I didnt say anything about if someone said something to 75 its ok for him to kick. I literally said if he did it he should have had a flag throw and penalty called. Learn how to read and understand what you are reading. Its called reading comprehension. I dont have a video because unlike most people, I put my phone away at a game and watch it but numerous people have said they saw the same thing. It is what it is and I have firmly stood beside the fact you cant let refs win the game for you and have calls made. Win it by being the better team. You are putting your feelings on what happened. Those kids didnt deserve grown adults and other kids to berate them and cuss them out. Their fans should have taken the W with class and they dont. I remember walking out to our car after our loss to Port Arthur in 23 and same thing happened from some of their students. We were cussed at for no reason. We were simply walking and out of no where had teenagers cussing us out. So it doesnt surprise me you support the same from SOC fans. I won't lump all of PA together just because of how you are behaving and acting towards PNG fans. I know some of the fan base for the Titans are not like the others. I hope PA wins and makes it to state. I still stand by going to the State game and cheering in my purple with pride for the 409.

I can stand up to it because I know what former players endured playing png. Doesn’t matter. Even some of png fans are separating themselves from people like u. If those kids did do it, I’m sure fans and players said something to them first. Oh and I didn’t have to be there smart guy. The Humidor Cigar Lounge streamed it for all to laugh at PNG and cheer for SOC lol
