  2. To me La Porte is a much better version of Huntsville. By the way La Porte Go make a name for yourselves this year. You guys have a great program and great sportsmanship. It was awesome watching the players from each team helping each other up and giving each other pats on the helmet after good plays. Well coached kiddos over there.

    Huntsville @ PNG

Just watched PNG's demolition of Lake Creek...really impressive Bailey and those WR's are locked in...combine that with two excellent backs and what is still a very good OL and the PNG offense is REALLY hard to stop. Huntsville physically can push PNG a bit....RB Brown and QB Adolphe are outstanding, but consistency is still an issue with them IMO, the two really good teams they've played...they've lost...so I'm not sure Huntsville is on that elite level right now....

Houston finishes the season with a win and an 87-75 record. That's 12 games above .500 which by my calculations is "above average". In the American League (15 teams), only 4 teams finished with a better overall win/loss record. That puts the Astros in the top 1/3 of the league, not "middle of the pack". In the MLB (30 teams), 9 teams had better overall win/loss records. Houston is in top 1/3 of all of baseball in win/loss record for the season. Not "middle of the pack". All this while having the worst season for injuries of any baseball team in MLB history, Pretty proud of that effort considering those circumstances. Proud to be an Astro Fan!!! (and not a pessimistic sports fan).

  6. feels like the district championship will come down to PAM and BH. RSS could sneak into the playoffs for the first time in a LOONG time. This is going to be interesting the next 3 weeks.

They're getting things set after our game. Similar to last year. Many of the adjustments discussed were made. Berneathy treats pre-district as a learning period. Although, I know he'd also prefer winning the games vs losing them. I hope we keep playing each other--pending realignment issues--as the last game before district. It's a good, physical test where each team can learn a lot about their needs before the 'real season' starts. Even though it's physical, both teams play clean. So, unless it's just an accident, injuries aren't really a concern. Can't say that about every team.

Alvarez, Meyers, Parades and Pena were all out at the same time during a portion of the season. Sousa and Garcia were most definitely above average at the time of their injuries. No debating that fact. Numbers don't lie. But in your mind, all 28 active players on an MLB roster should be way above average. Let me know when you see a team of that caliber. smh

    11-5A D1 2025 Season

Week 1 District Scores: Kingwood Park 24 Kempner 3 Pasadena 6 Crosby 69 Friendswood 21 La Porte 57 New Caney Porter 10 Angleton 56 District Standings: Angleton (1-0) (4-0) Kingwood Park (1-0) (3-1) La Porte (1-0) (3-1) Crosby (1-0) (1-3) Kempner (0-1) (3-1) Friendswood (0-1) (2-2) New Caney Porter (0-1) (2-2) Pasadena (0-1) (1-3) Weekly Rundown: Thursday night, Kingwood Park ended Kempner's undefeated streak. Friday action saw Crosby dismantle the Eagles for their first win of the season. Crosby's previous opponents were a combined 9-1 before this week's contests. So, they had played a strong schedule of opponents. Angleton's opponents were a combined 3-9 before this week's action, and that may have played a part in the Wildcats getting off to a slow start against the Spartans. The score was 7-3 Angleton at the half. But, the Wildcats turned it on in the 2nd half, and exploded for a 49 point surge for the easy win. La Porte faced a tough Friendswood team, and started slow. La Porte led 21-14 at halftime with a Mustang KO return for a TD, and a TO that led to a short field and score for the Mustangs right before the half. The 2nd half--similar to Angleton--was all Bulldogs, with only the 2nd team giving up a late TD. The 2nd team La Porte O also punched in an impressive 80 yard drive for a score against the Mustang first team D. This Week's Key Game - Crosby @ Friendswood. Both teams are eyeing a PO spot, and this game could determine possible seeding with Kingwood Park watching the outcome.

This post seems familiar. The atmosphere has been cleaned up a bit, ever since the Thanksgiving Day 2019 incident. WRT the game, PNG shouldn't need too much home cooking I'm hoping. BTW, without checking the internet, I think this may be the first time to play Huntsville in Port Neches in quite a while, if ever.

What a truly remarkable run by the Astros from 2017-2024: - 8 consecutive trips to the postseason - 2 World Series championships - 4 American League pennants - 7 straight trips to the ALCS - 7 AL West titles - 99 playoff games - Countless champagne celebrations

  26. Kingwood has a good club. Shame of it is, with King the way they are this year, Kingwood may be the odd man out, even though they could probably make PO’s in multiple other R3 districts.

    Dayton @ Nederland

Normally I pull for BigNed and or PNG and Crosby in the post season because normally Dayton sucks . Year in year out Ned always fields a good team - you hear all the down/low dome&gloom disparities then when you see them play all that chatter goes out the window.Dayton finally has a decent team and a good coach ( were getting there) I predict this game will be a Dog fight - ( no pun intended) hopefully with no injuries.

  43. 1000% agree. My point about Trump is that he wanted (or needed in some way) to point the finger at one particular drug company. It just looks like a witch hunt which I personally believe it is for whatever reason. I think it's simply another headline grabber moment for Trump. No real substance behind this move.
