  1. Stop acting like you’re the only one who knows anything. What I said rings true. They could never envision Biden’s invasion of 20 million migrants. They didn’t have drug smugglers, paid human traffickers, and violent criminals coming across the borders (which were much smaller then). Times were totally different then. Even though they had open borders and encouraged immigration, they were concerned about the non-contributing immigrants being worthy of becoming Americans. The immigrants back then weren’t blood suckers looking for a handout and toting flags of the country from which they seek asylum. You’re the one who needs to read and use common sense. Here’s an excerpt of Washington’s and Madison’s opinions: RELATED: The Trouble with the ‘Nation of Immigrants’ Argument No, not because “diversity” is our greatest value. No, not because Big Business needed cheap labor. And no, Madison asserted, “Not merely to swell the catalogue of people. No, sir, it is to increase the wealth and strength of the community; and those who acquire the rights of citizenship, without adding to the strength or wealth of the community are not the people we are in want of.” Madison argued plainly that America should welcome the immigrant who could assimilate, but exclude the immigrant who could not readily “incorporate himself into our society.” George Washington, in a letter to John Adams, similarly emphasized that immigrants should be absorbed into American life so that, “by an intermixture with our people, they, or their descendants, get assimilated to our customs, measures, laws: in a word soon become one people.” #share#Alexander Hamilton, relevant as ever today, wrote in 1802: “The safety of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common national sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of the citizens from foreign bias and prejudice; and on that love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education, and family.”

  2. Well you can take Bryant out of the equation. He is no longer in the running for the Silsbee basketball job.

  3. 2016-19 wasn't too bad. 2016 State runner up 2017 State Champ 2018 State Champ 2019 Regional finals The fact that Silsbee will be Div. II in basketball helps now also.

  4. Nothing wrong with immigration. But—as was famously said—you can’t have open borders and a welfare state. Milton Friedman Cato Institute is libertarian. Their slogan is basically ‘build a wall around the welfare state, not around the nation.’ I think most people with a lick of common sense understand the two can’t co-exist without restrictions. So—as a liberal—you either have to give up your big government spending, or open immigration. You choose. @UT alum

  5. The majority of the crap he catches on here is a result of the nonsensical posts from his groupies, not the energy he brings. One district championship and a handful of you guys started inserting him into every conversation about elite coaches or elite job openings that came up. Never seen anything like it on this site for another coach. The last four years have at least calmed some of that down. But to get back on topic: I personally don't see Silsbee hiring a guy who coaches a completely different style than what they run, and has had minimal success against them.

  6. He is just a basketball coach looking to advance his career in basketball. English is not leaving Nederland just yet so the head basketball coach position is not open for Bryant to apply for. Bryant will not go to Nederland and bring his sons without being the head basketball coach.

  7. Was that when Silsbee was playing with the JV essentially because they had so many out for Covid?
    2 points
  8. Even if he did apply, I do not think Silsbee is looking to hire a guy who is going to try to coach in a style he has never coached before, that is an elite job, they will get someone with a better resume that already knows about coaching their style of basketball.

  10. [Hidden Content] When I drove by last week, there looked to be another large video screen on the outside of the south side of the stadium. Not sure if it's for advertisements, scheduled event info, or what. But, it looked like another video screen to me. I took some pics of the complex. But, I cant seem to get them to upload. Too big & I can't compress enough. Maybe, they'll do another drone flyover soon. Still planning on going to the Spring game. So, maybe I can do better then.

I call BS! Harvard isn’t a private school if they receive $9 Billion of taxpayer money or more per year. If you accept public money, you’re not private. Getting tired of hearing them cry they’re private. Feds dole out about $40 Billion per year in grants to colleges/universities. As I mentioned in another thread, take some of this & invest in the skilled trades/crafts. Somehow, I don’t see air traffic controller trainees, nurses, welders, heavy machinery operators, solar/wind/industrial mechanics, CODERS (as was famously mentioned) or those type very needed skills protesting much except having to take a liberal arts class for technical training.

Then you must disagree with Hamas whose charter states: "There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad". (Hamas Charter, Article 13) “Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it..." (Preamble to Hamas Charter). You may not agree with the war, but it's exactly what Hamas wants. They yearn for it. It's their only vehicle to eradicate the entire Jewish population. From the ADL, "Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Saleh Al-Arouri in an August 2023 interview: He expressed Hamas’ desire for 'total war' with Israel: 'Therefore, we are convinced that if a total conflict begins, the airspace and seaports of this entity will be shut down, and they will not be able to live without electricity, water, and communications."

  16. Since we are talking immigration, Obama deported 480,000 in 2012 alone. How many deportations were blocked by federal judges? Did they all receive due process? Of course not. All this federal judges BS is reserved for Trump. How democratic is that? Protecting gang criminals!!!! What is wrong with you people????

Still curious why and include myself in this statement. Why do we debate those with a disdain for reality to push their own disdain for those who don't agree that they hold the morale high ground. You folks and me, at times, would be better off facing the wind to urinate. Carry on with debating the faux superior because my colleagues at the colleges made them what they are and they will not and cannot change.

I guess if Harvard should allow Hamas supporters to do it, you'd be all in favor of the Klan camping out in front of the LBJ library for weeks heckling and threatening any minorities who happened to walk by in need of using the library. I don't believe you on this one. On free speech, sure. But taking over campuses? You're being disingenuous. There's no way in hell you'd support a radical movement that differed from your beliefs taking over a square or area of campus for days/weeks at a time, and support their right to harass, intimidate, and disrupt, all in the name of free speech.

would you take exception to white supremacist protestors being allowed to take over at UT, disrupting learning and threatening minorities? or would you support it? And would you support UT faculty allowing, and even leading those protests? I mean, it's freedom of speech, after all.

Those are fair points, but the flip side of that is he's going to be more physically mature as he goes from being a sophomore to a junior and he'd have a much better supporting cast at Silsbee if he indeed left...you have to take that into account too..I've seen the kid in person and he's an elite talent...there's a reason he's got the offers he does for football, because he's got every tool in the belt

You're not helping your argument. Lol. Generally speaking, stocks benefit from economic growth and stability while gold and silver benefit from economic uncertainty or crisis. If the stock market falls greatly, fear is usually high, and investors typically seek out the safe haven of gold and silver. That doesn't mean investors are right though... Just adding some context to your post.
