I would like to say Thank you for all the support for the Port Neches-Groves Indians. You have been amazing on here. Several Indian fans have commented to me at the number of area schools supporting this seasons run. Last week I spent most of the time standing up between the two decks.I saw so many people representing their respective SETX schools. This past Friday night I saw someone from every school in SETX. A group of what look to be LCM football players, many from PAM, folks from Beaumont, WOS, Silsbee. Vidor, BC, Orangefield, many from Dayton, a guy from Crosby, several from Brenham, and a large contingent of Nederland Bulldogs there. I am in know way saying thats all these are the people I personnaly saw. First please if you make the game we welcome you, we thank you, and though I cant speak for everyone. I have been to many other teams games in my life. I remember driving to Houston to watch Central play in the Dome. Many years ago. I say all of this to say Thanks for your support not only on the game but the support from staff and members of the SETXSPORTS.COM site. You have been most gracious and covered us well. Thanks for the love and suppot.

Just an observation on the last 2 semi games. Last year when the clock struck 0, the players went wild celebrating and rushed the field. All that work and they achieved their goal to get to state. This year when Shea took the knee in victory formation, there were hugs and handshakes. A lot more subdued and businesslike celebration. They expected to win and expected to be back at state. They have unfinished business to take care of. It may take a near perfect game to win, but I don’t doubt they can pull it off.

This will be the biggest test for the Indians. We must play fundamental/Disciplined ball for 4 quarters.

SETX Football is a family! Like any family we have our individual disputes. However, rivals or not, we support any team going to the playoffs to do their best. Thank everyone for your support in the Indians run to state. God bless everyone through this Christmas season, in their travels & that it may be a blessed time for all this year! God made us all.

Made the mistake of going and reading the smoaky thread. Somehow I now find myself rooting hard for Bellville to curb stomp them, whereas before I was just going to be an interested observer.

I think they are pretty close. OF is a bit more but not significant. It’s conceivable Brandon could tell them thanks but no thanks. He has a good thing going there and they love him.

Pat Foster was so underrated as a coach that it's ridiculous. I remember that Duke game well. The Cards outplayed them for most of it.

In defense of your coaching credentials months ago, you posted a video of an underclassmen kid mentioning you as one of his coaches, and a video of you helping warmups as a north shore assistant coach. Why would I make that up? You should be proud of your career as the “ball slap together guy.” You’re the reason North Shore was so good. Except for the fact that coaching doesn’t matter, so I guess you had nothing to do with it.

That’s not the only adjustment. It’s a little shocking that you’re a coach and you only noticed one adjustment. Seriously. They also moved a guy over in the interior to take away the run, thus forcing us to throw. And, PNG could have responded to their passing game sooner by putting Shea Adams in the secondary to take away their height advantage (we eventually did, but it was too late by then). And, png could have modified its offensive play calling to drag out drives longer, move the chains and keep themselves out of trouble. By no means did SOC’s talent (which was far superior to PNGs) put that game out of reach. PNG was outcoached and outplayed in the second half. I’m not disagreeing that talent matters. I’m disagreeing with drawing a hard line. Coaches develop talent, bring in talent, use talent, and train talent. It’s no mystery that the best coaches seem to also have a lot of talent. A good coach gets more talent out of average players, and helps players discover abilities they didn’t even know they have. I’d rather face a super talented team with a terrible coach than a more “normal” team with a top tier coach. Napoleon is credited with saying something along the lines of “I’d fear a thousand sheep lead by a lion more than a thousand lions led by a sheep.”

Bout Carthage? until the Lord of the Rings came along they had 1 appearance in state title game in the early 90s. He takes over and suddenly a record breaking juggernaut is created with the same bloodlines and talent that has always been there.

Sure do, Coach Foster is doing well, yes he is currently retired. Will private message you more info... Great Coach who mentored me alot both as player and then again as a young coach and Defensive Coordinator.

Watching SOC on YouTube. The RB #21 Green is quick and elusive. Yikes. Not the biggest guy, but he can take a pop and bounce off tacklers. PN-G has seen some good RBs this season, but I don't think the Indians have seen anyone with his combination of quickness, vision, and the ability to slip away from tacklers. The SOC QB #18 reminds me of PN-G's #9...cool under pressure and making the right reads and throws. #18 can sling it. SOC defense is fast at all three levels, but I think PN-G's OL will be able to create some running lanes. The game will come down to PN-G stopping the run and PN-G winning some one-on-one battles in the passing game when SOC loads the box. Stopping the run is easier said than done. SOC has some DUDES on the OL and #21 zips right through their lanes. They are playing well. Glad PN-G has a shot to play the last 5A-DII game of the year and taking a shot at the defending champs. We've got a shot...what more can you ask for? Should be a good game. Tip of the cap to SOC coaching staff...they lost 11 scholarship kids from last season and they are back at the top, in the state championship. Impressive. P.S. One more thing. No turnovers this year. The Indians need to hold on to the ball. No safeties this year.
