Lake Creek is probably the most overrated #1 team I can remember in awhile they gave up 27 points tonight vs. a terrible Austin Crockett offense...PN-G will have a field day vs Lake Creek defense next week that's my only prediction

Real playoffs start now. Montgomery will be the best offense we’ve played. We’ll be the best defense they’ve played. They won’t be the best defense we’ve played. And, we’ll probably be the best or second best offense they’ve faced. They haven’t looked nearly so dominant against good teams, and I’m not impressed by them running up the score against bad teams. I’ll have to watch more film on them, but I think PNG’s defense will be the difference.

I just want to address one part of this. #99 is good, no doubt. If Miller is 100% healthy, 99 won't be anywhere close to being the best player on the field. I've seen Miller completely take over games. He will be the best player without question.

Ditto!! I have been holding my tongue for a week. BBF061’s posts are always insightful and respectful. However, my boy 89Falcon seems to have much hate for Silsbee. Bandwagon fans are common, especially when the home team doesn’t give you much to cheer about. Bellville MAY (Falcon said WILL) beat Silsbee and Silsbee MAY beat Bellville. BUT…when the VOICES YOU ARE HEARING tell you that # 1 for Silsbee isn’t the best player on the field, sumpin is amiss. As a Silsbee fan, I have MUCH RESPECT for Bellville and what they have accomplished. I also have much respect for 99 and the bright future he has. With that being said, I would never STOOP as low as to make derogatory remarks towards another team or player. Hopefully both teams treat us to an injury free game for the ages. My biggest concern with Lake Creek is the zone read. If PNG loads up on 21 the QB will run it and is good at it. They throw a lot of WR screens and passes to the flats. Our OLBs will need to play very disciplined football.

As an HF and employee, I absolutely hated to see that. It’s not something we expect as longhorn fans. I’m hoping it’s addressed quickly. Good luck to y’all moving forward. Y’all have an excellent team.

No disrespect to LC cause I’m sure they’ll be our toughest test yet, however I agree the #1 ranking seems quite overrated. But same story last year with “big bad” FBM and Liberty Hill who were ranked above us right up until they WEREN’T….lol!

@89Falcon but remember that I said before the season began that if Coldspring had the same players from last season (which was true in a sense) they would not make it to the playoffs at all. Truth be told we did better in district last year instead of this year. The thing is that Coldspring always has had athletes there and that won't change it's all about the coaching for us but everytime we get a good coach ex. Barbay don't try to run him off especially when their football schemes have proven over and over again that this works. This is one of the main reasons why you see Shepherd made it to the area round instead of Coldspring sitting home watching them or others. I promise you if Barbay had our group of guys now we would not only would have not only won district but we would be in the playoffs now especially the only 2 seasons he didn't make it to the 3rd round or beyond was 2008 (my senior year) and 2009. Anything else after that Coldspring has shown dominance. Since then you've seen what has been happening and I think our players the program and the fans needs that type of mentality back.

Yes, that was the final score 24-7. The doo doo it what your shoveling no balls!! This was a good game and we had our chances, I believe the linejudge missed the Touchdown from the one yardline on 2nd down, that would've made it 21-14, still we should've converted and unfortunately didn't execute. The boys fought till the end, but lapses cost us. Going into the season we had alot of questions and some predicted a falloff, well I think they did what they could. Every group of Seniors hates to see it end, this group struggled with covid and losing Coaches(R.I.P.), but they will persevere and the lessons learned on the field will help prepare them for Life. GO EAGLES!!! OUT

Was at the game. Rouse came out chunking it. Coach McDaniel made an adjustment late in the first and slowed them down after half he adjusted and completely shut them out. The man is a defensive guru. The show tonight was complete domination. Blair has become a freight train. He is big and has the same second gear as Trahan did. He is now running with a purpose. What a great compliment to Nguyen. Bailey hit all the throws he needed to when it was asked of him aside from one overthrow he threw dimes. The team is headed for a clash of good teams next week. PNG is really peaking at the right time. They are healthy and playing mistake free football.

Rice with that series where he had two consecutive blocked shots.

I think a lot of the frustration stemmed from Cuero kids getting away with a lot of unnecessary contact being made after the whistle was blown. I saw headbutts, punches, and even one kick. It was pretty rampant in 1st and 2nd quarter and I don’t think there was one single call or talking to by a ref. Also the straight up hold on kickoff return with left hand of Cuero player. It wouldn’t be so bad but when they show these on the replay the kids see it twice and it really pulls at the emotional strings. Unfortunately the refs decided to wake up in 2nd half and keen in on HF then just really pile it on. I’m fine with refs calling them out but you really need to penalize both parties involved. At the end of the day you can’t bite on the unsportsmanlike conduct of Cuero players. You’ve got to be the better team no matter what and keep a cool head. Best of luck to Jasper. I think your DL could really be a problem for Cuero Offense. Also best of luck to Silsbee
