  4. HF is definitely the favorite and my pick to win tonight. But I will not be surprised if the game is much closer than last year's game. I'll be on the sidelines for this one tonight. Rice balls and a bowl of rice and gravy please!!!

  6. I disagree that the wheels are going to fall off and that its going to get worse as the season goes on. It's all relative of course, but the district games while tough for sure aren't as tough as their non-district games. They have a lot of talent, young for sure, but very talented. I'm choosing to believe they can put it together on the field. We shall see.

  9. When Dad hit 84 or 85, we were trying to get him to stop driving. Around that same time his drivers license was up for renewal. We (his kids) kind of celebrated in our head because we knew there was NO WAY he would pass the vision test, plus he was starting to struggle just simply walking.....but he was determined........ I'm not sure how he did it, but he passed and got his license renewed......to this day I think he memorized the eye chart or something....... I agree with you but the test should be a actual driving test......

  10. This is Coach Toomer getting it done right here. Replaced a defensive coordinator last year that shouldn’t have ever been in that role and was not a leader or role model. Got an offensive coordinator that plays up to the strengths of the players he has. The Northbrook win was not all that impressive , seemed like Brazoswood was struggling a bit from last week as well. Either way, Congrats to them! On to Barbers Hill now. If they get that victory…look out, they may go from being picked next to last to being in the playoffs. Next week will tell me how good they really are. They play “The Hill” close or perhaps get that victory , that entire district goes on notice, and no team can overlook the rangers on the schedule then….But we are a week away from knowing if they are truly for real. Great Job, Coach Toomer.

  21. yes that's what I was implying, they will wear down their opponent throughout the night hence why conditioning is a must for whomever they are against

    Sure is Weird

I remember as a kid (60s) it was 107* and the neighbors down the street were frying eggs on the driveway. It was hot a few days like that, but it went back to the 90s where it belonged. Linda Ronstadt sang about a heat wave, but I think that was a totally different concept. Lol

  24. I think people don’t really appreciate what you’re saying here. It is extremely difficult / rare for a HS we to execute a true RPO, there were real flashes of something special last Friday. Could be an equalizer over the course of the season as Ned gets better at executing in game speed situations against elite speed.

Heck I've never been as hot as it was this last month so many days in a row. I don't think 2011 was as hot as it has been this year. Maybe I am just a wimp now. These guys laying asphalt in the 107 degrees on US59 I just don't know.

  31. Thank you Gametime5. I saw Sterling last week and they looked very good. Their opponent was indeed week but Sterling "got after it" from the opening kickoff. Their team had some new spark and swag. As I mentioned, they appear to have a partially new staff. Their arrow is definitely pointing up!

We’ve actually been to Jerry World though. Only time you’ve seen it is when the Cowboys are playing. We do what I think we’re capable of tomorrow and I’m going to go ahead and clear off the Thanksgiving calendar though.

  33. United had 2230.5 enrollment last alignment and cutoff was 2224. They barely slipped into 6A. Huge difference between them and probably 80% of their district in enrollment and athletes. They’re doing fine on non district schedule. I have a feeling they’ll have a chance to go 5A D1 after this year it’ll be a mute point on non district scheduling. Some things are out of their control like travel budget.

  35. Montgomery is not the best team. But, so what? They do appear to be "improved" from last year though, and they are at home. Probably good enough for now. BH does not need to play the KC Chiefs to get work in. I don't stress about pre district opponents or scores. Its meant to be a workout. We will likely have different pre district opponents the next two years anyway. In week 9, 10, 11 it won't really matter who we played in week 2, thats JMHO.

  37. Jacob Johnson is unlike any back BC will see this year. By far the most complete back in our district and one of the top three backs in the area. Should be a good one both hard nosed teams. Don't forget our senior QB he don't mind throwing that rock around too. Look for a good one up in Buna Friday night.

  38. I'm with Coach Morgan. Their RPO game concerns me. And after the high of beating the $5 indians(again), the Men in Black could be caught slippin,. PA wins but Nederland covers(+36 according to Dave Campbell)

  39. All of you guys are right. Btw, WB is playing Manvel. another 5A program. Y'all have to remember, February of '20, once the districts came out, coaches had to scramble to find opponent. I'm sure that also determines who to scrimmage and whether to have spring ball or not(2 scrimmages vs one) That's why you see Brazosport and Mavel Lamar etc on the schedule. Travel gets involved big time which cost money. So when they get to play a local team in any copacity, they jump on it. There was a cycle which PAM had a home/home with Midland Lee and Alice so stop with the complaing please
