Sorry but the co-mvp thing is weak. There was one player in that district who was EASILY the best. But we live in the day of throw the second place team (or third place or whatever EC was) a bone.

Crosby went to the semi finals and Carthage beat them in non district game the same year. They beat them with 9 brand new starters on offense and two offensive linemen missing due to COVID. Just saying.

Kountze will be fine. Outside of Sells, 1 kid logged Varsity minutes last year. And those were very limited. They have played 3 games. The player that is no longer with the team is an athlete, and they miss his length, but the ones that are there are some hard working kids. I expect them to be pretty competitive in district this year. The following few seasons should be a fun watch as well. Couple really talented players coming up the line.

Senior day for maybe my all time favorite Longhorn. I think he still has a lot of football left in his career but he represents everything that college athletics should be about. Probably not what he envisioned (or what we envisioned) when he arrived at the 40 acres. But his time there won’t soon be forgotten by the Longhorn faithful. Well done Shug. And for the record, the Bears are my 4th favorite team in SETX and pull for them in 90% of the games they play. Also have family that plays for them. So definitely not a hater. Some of their fans can be super annoying at times but that’s literally every school (although some have more than others). My original post was an attempt to cheer up the OP and a little trollish at some of our resident Bears. On a bright note, the Bears should be formidable in the other two big sports.

You both lost in the first round of the playoffs and WOS beat you head to head. I know moral victories may be more of a thing north of the interstate, but what are we claiming here? 6-5 vs 5-6? In a year where teams were lined up to get their kicks on the Mustangs like below, the Bears still played the little brother role. You call it being a hater, I call it being non-delusional.

I don’t think they have a lot of length on that pressure defense this year. They’ll have some games where they blow people out when the 3 ball is falling and some where teams will beat them that shouldn’t.

That’s crazy and it’s exactly why their players didn’t get any of the top awards. They didn’t have any stand out players that I can remember like other teams did and without the stats there, they get overlooked. Sad. What are they looking at other than stats for these awards then?
