This entire thread is why we can't have nice things..... A 17 year old had the absolute most tragic thing happen to him and it's all on camera, which translates to televisions and cell phones all over the world. Think of the most tragic thing that is happened to you and imagine it filmed and broadcast all over the world.....and your a household name overnight....... Has anyone on this page been chased by a mob, and had to shoot shoot 2 people, and vaporize someone's arm while trying to make sure you didn't die in the process? I find it very, very reasonable he wants everything associated with that night to go away. I've been on these forums many years, and people that say they could kill someone and sleep the next night or it wouldn't bother them....has never killed anyone. I hope I'm ready to shoot if I'm ever put in that situation....but I hope more I'm never put in that situation.....

Yeah, they just showed up at Aledo. I watched Aledo's 1998 title game against Cuero and I didn't see one black kid on the team. Not that that part matters but somehow all of a sudden with the same 2% black population in their school you get Johnathan Gray, Jase McClellan, Jojo Earle, the Allen brothers, Jeff Carter, etc. ALL in recent years when they never had them before. Throw that in with their population explosion and Aledo is a total anomaly in the sense that their recruiting numbers look more like Arlington Martin's versus Southlake Carroll's like they should. CE King is good now. Is it because the new coach is that much better or is it because their enrollment grew by 1500 kids since they were in the district with Crosby 6 years ago? 1500 additional North Shore type kids is going to make it easier on any coach. Jon Kay has won 4 state titles in 8 years at North Shore. He might end up as the greatest high school coach ever but he's not beating Dodge, Samples, Carter and Joseph with Summer Creek's talent the way he's basically owned them while at North Shore going 11-3 in those contest. Meanwhile he's 3-5 against the Meekins brothers at Westfield. I know you don't consider them great coaches due to not having titles though. There's a huge difference between "low" expectations and realistic expectations which is where I think you're getting confused. I watched PNG play Montgomery and I would've given Montgomery a slight advantage athletically yet PNG still beat them. If PNG played Montgomery 10 times it would probably be 5-5. I watched them play Texas High the next week and the gap in athletes was more like a chasm. They could play that game 10 times and TH would probably win 9 of them. If PNG's administration can't can't objectively watch their team play and come to that conclusion then that's more on them than it is on BF.

Both the left and the right are using this to try and make political statements. The left wants to appear that the court is ordering this done as some sort of justification that Rittenhouse did something wrong, and the right is trying to make it out that his property is being unjustly destroyed against his will. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't want the gun to be bought and sold like a trophy. It's obvious that this would happen, and there are at least two comments in this thread stating as much. In a way this IS a stunt, as I'm sure there are people in Rittenhouse's ear telling him that it would look best if he went ahead and had the gun destroyed.

BH will probably be in a 9 team district, but I would like West Brook, CE King if by some miracle an 8 team district add Deer Park or Dickinson might as well see how we stack up for the near future (6 years)

It took him 24 years to get a state championship. He even coached at Liberty hill and was unsuccessful. He went to Mexia in 1995 and they won a state championship 1989. Keller is horrible. Pittsburg has one state championship in 1980 and is pretty below average. Kerens, San Saba and Corsicana is mediocre. Now look at South Lake Carrol do you see how much his coaching improved? Do you think he changed much throughout his years of experience probably so. But the one factor is that the talent was greater in South lake than those other teams he coached at. Maybe PNG should have gave Faircloth 24 years and he could have got them a ring. But what if he goes to Sulphur Spring and wins a state championship. Will your opinion change about him?

As I recall, the big play of the game was a Brenham FG just before the half. Without it the score would have 21-24 late in the 4th. PN-G had wind at its back and could have attempted a tying FG.

LOL! All State Champion-type head coaches were assistant coaches at one time. One never knows what you will get. At any one time, there are only around 10% State Championship-type coaches in the state. Why 10%? Because it’s hard. If it was easy then every coach would have 20 or more Titles!

I was told PNG had Jasper, Beaumont United and Goose Creek on the schedule. If GCM isn’t available due to a large district, WOS could take their place. None of that is official by any means though.

Would Surratt duplicate that success at Orangefield? Carthage was a sleeping giant…. Much like Jasper is. Sure, it takes the right coach, and some luck to get the ball rolling and the program up and off the ground. IMO Surratt is one of the best coaches in the state, but just because he’s done it at Carthage don’t mean he would replace Danaher and won titles there.

I’ll take a few guess. Got him for stopping N. Korea from shooting missiles? How about, gave military aide to the Ukraine to cause Russia to back off? Put tariffs on China to level the field? Put more people working than ever before? All good reasons to attack him for - if you’re a Democrat.

If I see smoke coming from the windows I don't have to run inside the house to tell you it's on fire. That's not how I would define good and bad reasons at all either. A "good" reason for being pushed out is poor job performance, personal conduct infractions or a rule violation like what happened to Jeff Nelson at Ozen. A "bad" reason would be because of administrative vendettas, town "politics" or the perceived notion that you should be competing at higher level when your personnel doesn't necessarily dictate that.

WOS will be WOS. They will just turn the page and move on. They haven't lost a district game in like 12 years and I see no reason for that to change. Recent events has some folk imagining premature tales of woe, raising hopes that after 50+ years the bully(WOS) is finally losing it. Not gonna happen. In the years being discussed, were Buna's most talented years since Coach Whitmire has been at Buna. They had alot more talent than "an O-Lineman" and a Connel kid. Kreston Richardson went on to play at UT-Tyler? Or something of that sort. Edwards was a very talented basketball player, along with Connell and Richardson and some good role players. Did Kountze have the better athletes, absolutely. But Buna was far from lacking in talent. I won't comment on who is the better Coach of the two. Back to the standings, Kountze should have at least a share of the lead as of tonight. This district is so tough and each game can swing the standings. I love it! Keep rolling Lions!!

Just watched my oldest G’daughter walk across the stage with her Masters Degree. Not a bad legacy for someone who had to brownose his HS English teacher 🥴. Proud of her. Wasn’t a gift. Using Ruth Bader Ginsburg as an example, I don’t believe she was evil or had any malice. Although she voted for some things on the Supreme Court that I agreed with, about 95% of the time I disagreed with her opinion. She was just opposed to what I believe on who should be taxed, on certain federal programs legality, police authority, etc. Maxine Waters however I believe is evil and full of hate. Her mind must be spinning with hate as she goes to bed at night and when she wakes up in the morning. Like Pelosi in her ultra liberal district, they both normally get at least 70% of the votes. She will be in office until she wishes to leave or until she assumes room temperature.
