I think it boils down to this, there are sorry people in this world regardless of what they look like. There is hate in this world regardless of what the person looks like. There is racism in this world and, like it or not, there always will be. In both of these scenarios listed above there were sorry people with hate in their heart. And quite possibly, both scenarios could have racism involved but we will never know and we can't prove it.4 points

Out of pocket supporting the medical community yesterday. Enjoyed catching up, reading these literary masterpieces. I feel sorry for those that think Tolkien, Dickens, Christie or Huxley are the ones to be admired, while SETXSPORTS has a plethora of literary genius. Only problem I had, with all the cuts & chops, I wasn’t sure if we were talking football or how to run a butcher shop. One thing for sure, I hope neither team suffers any injuries. Everyone will need all hands on deck against District 9. Continue on gentlemen. 😄3 points -

They don’t want to watch their own team play or do they just want to watch Vidor dominate a team they are rooting for again? Seems like we’ve picked up some haters along the way, must be doing something right. Even if the Pirates win LCM gets a share of the DC and goes in as the 2 seed. I figured they would be happy either way, maybe they just want to see us fall to #4 again but it’s understandable after we beat em pretty bad.3 points -

This topic has spun way off of the PAISD mask mandate but as long as we are talking religion in school…. I have see opinions repeated several times that when they removed prayer from schools, our problems started. If your child is waiting to get to school to find prayer, your problems started way before that. I don’t understand how you can be a Christian or any other faith and be a true believer but when you get to school, if they don’t lead you in prayer, you have somehow lost the faith. “I am 18 years old and have been a Christian and been baptized into my church but my teacher did not lead me in prayer today so I am now at atheist”? No……. As far as prayer in school, the Supreme Court has never outlawed prayer at public schools as claimed by some people. That is a myth. What they have banned was the government leading the prayer. One of the big cases in religious history was from the Wisconsin Supreme Court. It originally had no bearing on the rest of the country but it was cited by the United States Supreme Court later. In that case it was Christian versus Christian. The school led prayer from the King James Bible but Catholic parents protesting because the Catholic Bible was not allowed. Therein lies the problem with the government, a public school district, determining what you hear. It was an atheist against Christians, it was them against themselves. In another case a Jewish parent brought suit. The children were told to put their hands together in prayer at the beginning of a class. The father who brought the suit said he had no problem with the Christian faith and their praying and he believes in prayer also. His complaint was that in the Jewish faith they don’t put their hands together to pray. Maybe they cannot force his son to place at hands together but that would make him an outcast an open to ridicule because the government has now determined what prayers they would say. But by Supreme Court rulings, can students pray at school? Certainly. They can pray privately or they can meet in non-classroom time in groups and pray. Being on school property has no bearing. The prayer cannot be led, encouraged nor discouraged by the school. Some schools have wrongfully attempted to stop such prayer and the Supreme Court has upheld that right to pray at school. The popular way at one time of doing so was meet at the flagpole. If there were students who wished to pray, they got together before or after class. Schools cannot restrict religious writings at school such as an essay in class. Some schools mistakenly believe(d) that if you write anything religious in a class assignment it is unconstitutional but that has been ruled incorrect. If the assignment in English class is to write an essay on McBeth, then the essay would have to be on that topic. If the essay was for example on anything that interests you, the school would be violating a student’s rights by restricting religious speech in such an essay. So prayer is not forbidden at school, it is not forbidden in essays if that fits the topic at hand and it is not forbidden on school property. In fact to try to restrict it would be unconstitutional. Supreme Court has said that a moment of silence in school is allowed but again prayer cannot be led and neither encouraged nor discouraged by the school. The only issue is when the government tells you which prayers you will say or listen to.2 points

As I am getting older I was getting concerned about my memory. It seams like I am forgetting more and more easily distracted. Then I came to realize that I have probably been like this my whole life. I am just getting sharper and more aware as I get older. I just wasn’t as alert or aware of my shortcomings when I was younger. I’m actually getting better with age. With age comes wisdom. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.1 point

That is almost the exact score and was the situation last season but in reverse with Vidor dominating Lumberton. I expect similar results this year, until Ltown proves to me otherwise. They just haven't had the size or physicality to match up with the Pirates in the past. I know they have turned it around somewhat but that would be one hell of a drastic turnaround to make a 60 point swing from last years performance. Vidor has improved a lot from last season also and might just have a better team than you're expecting with that blowout pull the starters prediction.1 point -

What does religion have to do with manners in school? When did we abdicate teaching children manners or discipline to a public school district? None of that is forced in any case. You do not have to send your child to a public school. In fact you don’t have to send him to school at all but the government does require attempted learning even at home. Apparently some people have a very difficult time understanding constitutional rights with laws that have nothing to do with rights. I mean by your argument, we should be able to drive 120 miles an hour do a residential neighborhood because of freedom. That is nonsensical. The freedoms that I am talking about all the freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution of the United States. None of your comment has anything to do with that.1 point

Youngkin doesn’t matter. He will not run in 2024 but that is not the issue here. What should have been an easy Democrat victory was a loss. Midterms are not usually kind to the party in power in the White House. In Obama‘s first midterm, he lost 63 seats in House. If only five seats flip in 2022, Pelosi will be sent out to pasture. Heck, we might even see Joe Biden get impeached if he is still in office by them. Anybody that thinks this is about Youngkin Is deflecting the issue. Biden carried Virginia by 10 percentage points. He has been in office approximately nine months and Virginia has now gone Republican in the governor, lieutenant governor and Attorney General. Youngkin?1 point -

Crosby versus Madison 7pm 11/11/21 First Round Playoffs
Mr. Buddy Garrity reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
Their rushing attack is legit in HISD but they run a spread and their qb only has 365 passing yards on the year with a 1/1 TD-INT ratio. If you're not at least a threat to throw it in that style offense then Crosby is going to tee off on that run game. I doubt Madison scores while the starters are in and wouldn't at all be surprised if we did them like we did FB Willowridge in the first round last year.1 point -

Update for Ben Featherston from his sister’s Facebook page last night: 11/1/2021 “Thank you for your prayers. They are working! Ben is out of surgery and the amputations occurred without any complications. Even better, once the legs were closed his blood pressure immediately improved and they were able to reduce medications to keep his blood pressure regulated. Both legs were amputated just above his knees. Although just in the hours post-surgery, Ben still has a long road ahead but we are cautiously optimistic as we can now say we are looking forward to Ben's recovery & rehabilitation. Thank you for your continued love, support, & prayers.. it'sworking and we are so thankful!”1 point -

TBF - This is something you should be trying to do with that offense. Liberty Hill did it on every play until they got flagged for it. then waited couple plays and started doing it again. Sometimes it is an actual penalty other times it is the o-line knowing to wait 1 Mississippi after the snap to move. ball snapped quick everyone else moves, line starts moving .5s later and defensive line wasn't watching the ball just the guy in front of them. That's why you have to be so disciplined against that offense. They can change the pace on your over and over, fast then slow, then fast and not just the play development but also the snap pace, the amount of time under center can all change based on the time of game, formation advantages, and reads by the qb. This is the Db coaches telling players to grab jersey on the players side to stay locked into them. They do it until they get flagged but if they don't get flagged for a game why would they stop doing it. Also, same as offenses that hold on the interior on purpose until they get a penalty called. Same stuff different strategy. All those things are fouls but if they don't get called give you an extra advantage, so coaches do them until they get called. Surely someone who idolize Ole Bill wouldn't shy from a little rule bending to win.1 point
