Getting licks worked..... My son was acting up trying to be a comedian in I think 4th grade. We had a teacher/principle conference including my Son. They wanted to put three post it notes on his desk daily and every time he disrupted the class they would remove one note. When he ran out of notes he would be sent to principle. The punishment there would be running on a treadmill. I listened to this discipline plan with a grin. When they asked me my opinion, I told them I disagreed. He will have one post it note, not three. This would give him one warning then a trip to the office. In the office he would receive three licks, not run on a treadmill.....he was an athlete, that was exercise not punishment. My Son looked at me in disbelief when I said licks....lol The principle agreed, I signed a form, and he NEVER made it to the principle.......but my guess is he lost that one post it note daily......lol3 points -

Hereâs my statement: The Cougtalk moniker fits you well. Keep talking. Iâm not sure who you are trying to convince about how great Crosby is or why you come on here all bowed up saying yâall are ready to take on (get beaten) by the top 4 in the state. Are you mad because youâre only ranked 10th? Is that what brought this on? Keep plugging away and let the record speak for itself. I come from Lumberton. As a program, we have never had success on a statewide level and only glimmering moments on a district level. I know who we are. A couple weeks ago when we beat Huffman Hargrave (the district nemesis and reigning DC), I never tried to say anything more than âgood jobâ. Your problem is you spout so much crap that the smell becomes normal to you. Look Crosby has a very good program. Good job. Thatâs about all yâall deserve right now. But I know you need more hugs from mama, so here it goes: Youâre a very important person. I wish I was you. Men aspire to be you and women dream of you. Heck, even men dream of you. Youâre so smart too. And handsome. I wish I was you. Would you PM me so I can show everyone at work that I know you⌠âŚHopefully thatâll get you past supper time anyway.2 points -

I really do appreciate that. I know we give each other unwanted hell every once in awhile. But y'all did beat the best Slot T in the state with Liberty Hill, which is where Mathews goes to every few years to learn moe about the offense. But I wish y'all nothing but luck and success for the rest of the season to Crosby as well!2 points -

It helps to generally have the top 2 players on the field every game Kirkwood and Miles are a dynamic duo that people will need to figure out to beat this Crosby team. We aren't just overthrowing receivers by 15 yards like we did in the first three games.2 points -

yes sir O line play & get rid of the JR High playbook. 92 by no means am I saying a run to state title, but if the DAWGS can get to 2-3 scores a game with the way the DARKSIDE(defense) has performed thus far Jasper can really make things interesting in Region III. Malcolm Bronson has done a superb job as a first year defensive coordinator! The 3-4 sophomore starting on defense have been fun to watch.2 points -

Totally understand and apologies not needed. I hold no grudges. That stuff will kill you. I respect everyoneâs opinion on here even though we may disagree, especially TVC. He has a way of bringing people back down to earth and knows his law up and down. One thing he has taught me is there are variances in laws from state to state. I found this article that covers New Mexico law. Not sure it will hold water, but it lets me know I am not alone in feeling the way I do. I guess if the director of Twilight Zone the Movie was acquitted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Vic Morrow and two child actors, Baldwin will get a pass, but still face civil suits. The guy that shot and killed Brandon Lee on the movie said did not check the weapon. Why was he not indicted? Yes, if John Voight had done the same thing the liberals would be coming after him. The conservatives are doing the exact same thing to Baldwin. Why should politics enter into this? Youâre basically making your case for prejudice against Ballwin with your examples.1 point -

He was practicing drawing the gun from a holster and reholstering it. It's pretty easy for me to envision a scenario where someone without much gun handling/gun safety experience would accidentally (or intentionally) pull the trigger in that situation. Since he was told it was a "cold gun" he might very well have pulled the trigger expecting to get only the sound of the hammer clicking.1 point -

Most likely not undefeated but looking at the season schedule results, BH beat FW2-0 , Sterling 2-0, TC 2-0 and Lee 2-0 in tournament season and lost 1-2 in the championship of a tournament to Manvel. Beat LaPorte 3-0 in the regular season. Did not play GCM or Santa Fe. I think you could probably say Manvel would not have gone undefeated either.1 point -
Coach should work this game backwards. Start with 4 Th string then increase a string each quarter and have the starters begin the 4th quarter. That would be interesting đ1 point

Texas City at PNG
Justafan72 reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
If PNG is going to be successful running the ball on TC it's going to be up the middle. Your interior offensive linemen have a lot better chance of getting movement against their D-line than your RB does trying to hit the outside against their speedy linebackers. TC's d-line is their weakest position on that side of the ball. Again, if PNG is going to win Friday they're going to have to consistently move people off the ball at the line of scrimmage as well as try to hit three or four big pass plays against what's probably the best secondary in the district.1 point -
Woodville at East Chambers - HUGE Game
Sugarbear reacted to oldschool2 for a topic
From what I'm told by some coaching friends, Woodville is athletically deeper. But.. I heard that Anahuac had the ability to beat EC as well. It didn't matter. If the game comes down to tradition over unorganized (which often happens), then EC gets the nod from me. But that's why they play. I wouldn't feel comfortable placing a bet on either to win. That's me.1 point -

Malcolm was destined to end up in Kansas City. He was part of the Legendary 2007 DAWG baseball State Championship team which lead to him getting drafted his Senior year of 2008 by the Kansas City Royals. Instead, he went and had a GREAT college career at Mcneese State. 2013 Kansas City Chiefs signed him. He played 2 years before going to Chicago for 2 years as well.1 point -
âŚ. and you are assuming that anti-gun Hollywood actors have a clue about gun safety? That is why they hire supposedly experts. Apparently in this case one of the experts screwed up big-time or maybe as has been rumored, they hired someone who claimed to be an expert that was not. In any case, high-speed chases, explosions, shoot outs, fight scenes, etc., depend on those experts. I doubt that John Wayne knows much about high explosives, putting out oil well fires, TNT, nitroglycerin or anything of that nature but I sure saw him do a lot of it in HellfightersâŚ.. or maybe it was just the experts1 point

Many or maybe even a majority of prop guns are actual working firearms. The word prop just means used on a movie set. There are even items under Texas law that say that certain things are illegal⌠unless used for a dramatic interpretation. Basically if itâs a play or a movie, you could even have some illegal items. I have read it before several years ago but I read it again after this case, the death of Brandon Lee. There is a sequence of events that caused his death. Sometimes they use real bullets but hopefully modified by the âexpertâ. Like when you see a movie where a person is loading a gun, they want it to look like a real bullet. The expert supposedly makes dummy rounds and sometimes puts a primer in the pocket and the actual bullet in the shell casing but not the powder. Then they use the same real shell casing with powder but do not load the bullet and use some kind of wadding to hold the powder in. In the case of Brandon Lee they had a sequence where the gun was shown being loaded and they had a shell with a bullet and a primer but no powder. Unfortunately the actor pull the trigger and the primer was just enough to push the bullet slightly into the barrel. The expert then loaded an actual blank charge with a real shell casing and real primer and powder to make the flash to make it appear that the gun had been fired and when the trigger was pulled with a bullet stuck in the barrel that they did not know about, it was enough to shove the projectile out the barrel and kill Brandon Lee. There are other cases where they actually fire real bullets to break windows and such as that. Maybe they have gotten away from that in recent years but I donât know. I am sure they will make changes after this tragedy just like they did after Brandon Leeâs death. Anytime they use firearms with real powder and special effects with real explosions, then such things might happen. The me it is like in the other industrial site with certain dangers. Look at the death of the actor Vic Morrow and two children while filming Twilight Zone: The Movie. The special effects explosions caused a helicopter in the scene to crash on top of them, killing them instantly. There are certainly people who are financially responsible but does it rise to the level of a crime? So much depends on the circumstances and the wording of the state law. I would assume that much of the cases go by the culpable mental state such as intentionally or knowingly or recklessly or criminal negligence.1 point

Rez reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
It really has nothing to do with red or blue but two things. First, the person most instrumental in helping secure refining permits is your US representative which has been a republican for the Beaumont area since 1995. Second, my company is expanding its Beaumont refinery so what ever needed to take place at the city happened also. The issue is that there is a lot more automation and more contractors in the refineries now. That leads to a need for less permanent resources(residents) and creates a more transient workforce(guys living in travel trailers in these RV parks). That transient workforce usually doesnât bring their kids and companies are figuring out how to operate with less and less so thereâs not some huge need for employees at these refineries even when theyâre expanded. These big refineries now are operating at about a quarter of the permanent personnel they used to 40 years ago. People are trickling from the smaller towns to the larger metro areas to take advantage of the job market in this places. Thatâs why you see contraction in SETX, not because some union guys are locked out right now.1 point
