    Lumberton at LCM

Welcome to Lumberton. After 1/2 time the stands cleared. Probably a 1/3 of the stadium (band parents) got up and left. I get it. They want to see their kids perform just like I would, but have a little respect and community pride. A few weeks ago, the band was set to perform after the game. The players and cheerleaders were held hostage and made to sit and watch the band before they could leave the field. It was disgusting. Not the performance, the band is good. But the fact that the band parents (not all, but many) cried and whined and complained that they didn’t get any support from the athletic department. Stupid. The band is a part of the game, and I enjoy them. But when the FOOTBALL GAME is over, the kids who’ve been playing all night, bruised and banged up, hungry and ready for a shower shouldn’t be held hostage. And if the football parents, players, cheerleaders are forced to stay and watch the band, isn’t that just false support and a lie anyway? I wonder if after the next band competition, the band members will be forced to watch the football team run some plays or lift weights. Pure crap.

    Mid-County Madness 2020

Ok, we can call it temporary. That might be true. Might not be too. And it depends on what the definition of temporary means. 5 months, 5 years...who knows? Cure probably won’t ever happen. Just like the flu. I wear my mask at the games and try to sit away from people in the stands not in our family. I do that so they don’t stop the kids from playing. For that reason, I hope the MCM attendees do what’s asked. You know what’s really freakin ridiculous? The kids lining up 5 yards apart to “shake hands” after the game. They just had their bodies in a massive tangle with blood and sweat and spit being passed amongst one another, then at the end of the game, they have to march 5 yards apart and wave and be like, “Hey girl...”. Stupidity from above. Never ceases to amaze me.

  3. Pretty much. The Diboll/Crockett game this week should be for the district title. Coldspring will be third quite easily. I'll probably go with Westwood to take the final spot. Not sure the Trojans will have Buna in bi-district though. The Cougars still have some work with Anahuac and Kirbyville still on their docket.

  4. Personally, I wear a mask in public. Don't necessarily like it but it is a requirement. It will be interesting to see how, or even if NISD officials or NPD will handle any situations that may occur. We shall see.

  5. I disagree with the "leading" part. If you were to see his career stats and the game film that I have seen, I think you would understand some of the fans disappointment in the QB play the last 3 years. Foster is the safe play right now.

  6. If both coaches and refs agree to run out the clock..i dont see any problem with it. Rule or no rule
    2 points
  7. If this is from the UIL rule book then there’s no rule violation being committed regardless of interpretation. The periods are 12 min long, intermission (halftime) is meets this requirement, a min between first/second and third/fourth qtrs and no period ends on a non dead ball. It says nothing about the 12 min period following the timing rules of NCAA or NFL football..... or a flat out count down from 12:00 to 0:00. A “running clock” is actually more within these rules than shortening a period/quarter length (makes mention below varsity level which is why you often see 10/8 min quarters for JV/JH games) at the varsity level (which I’ve never seen done) and adhering to standard clock/timing protocols. Bottom line if both coaches and officials agree to “run the clock” there’s no potential to violate UIL rules or present an opportunity for investigation, violation or protest in the future.

  8. I’m going to go with Vidor 28-14 just to be a contrarian. 😉

  9. Absolutely they can. Westwood struggled to stop the run against Diboll and Coldspring has a good run game. The Trojan offensive line just needs to do their job and Coldspring will be fine. #20 should have a big night against Westwood.

  12. I thought Jasper did good against Carthage, it let me know more about em. Now I think Jasper is definitely a contender come playoff time. For this game though: poor Shepherd.

  13. I doubt there will be a complaint. As you noted, the UIL does not provide for a running clock. So in order for officials to do it, they must have the consent of both coaches. So, the presumption is that both Prouse and Thibodeaux agreed to the running clock. As Red Jolly Roger noted, even the Deweyville second teamers (or as much of a second team as you could have at the 2A-II level) got significant playing time. I think we can be assured that every Sabine Pass Shark got significant playing time. So all of the kids got significant playing time. Both coaches agreed to it. What is your problem with this game going to a running clock again? If you wish, you can certainly approach the DEC, but I really doubt that messers Hodges, Willams (both Mark and Eric) and Miracle will find much merit in such a complaint, nor will their respective administrators.

We need a younger coach. Someone vibrant . I mean we are paying Crouch 102k year. 10k a game?

  16. Really the way this district is playing out I think I'd rather let either @WOSgrad or @AggiesAreWegive their expertise on how this district will play out if their thinking the same as me then we will be 3rd as usual with a match-up with Buna in the first round

  17. If we win against Palestine Westwood then we see the major 2 teams in our district... Hopefully we can pull out 3 wins (and I can actually see us beating Crockett) but then there is Diboll

  21. All I know is when the other starting QB was benched and Foster was brought in as a Sophmore, that’s when Silsbee football took off eventually en route to the State Simis...

  22. Good cartoon. The last thing we want is to bring a child into this world and then teach it to be self sufficient. We need cradle to grave government care.

  23. Man y’all have a great coach who just played one of the best teams in the history of 4A to a 17 point game. Job well done Coach Barbay and Bulldogs. Y’all are going to make some serious noise in the playoffs.

  25. All three??? Lol idk first time I’ve seen LCM play since the good old days when our Orange County brethren would meet us in the parking lot for a fight after the game. You know back when they had the mascot fighting indigenous people and stuff, LCM sure had the community part down pat back then. I think it was 20-4A and it was awesome, Vidor, LCM, BC, Lumberton, Nederland, PNG all battling it out for 2 playoff spots.

  27. I can already see those missed xp’s in my head lol maybe a bad snap or mishandle and a shank... we gotta get the cleaned up. We had 4 in a row executed perfectly between the Splendora game and the first 2 Friday night but you really don’t see the other teams we have played messing them up at all.

  30. he can play. U know the funny thing is I don't hear no one calling for foster job right now. Even against w.o I didn't understand some of the play calling. I said it from the start that kid was the problem!! We have alot of bad play calling in our area.BC fought but better team won.

  31. Jasper has a gud team. I can understand why they don't open the playbook up some. I've seen them play 3 times this yr. And they really could have been working alot more on there passing game and other plays to keep a team from concentrating on limerick so much. The penalties really hurt them.u can't do those things against Carthage.and the game swung when it was 7-7. And Jasper drove all the down field and didn't score.and then Carthage had that long drive on them. I dont think they recovered after that.

  34. Honestly at this point if we don't get our act together we may place 4th in district (although it's probably not going to happen) and we may have to play EC first round and that's definitely a loss tor

  35. They also only had 2 practices and a walk through after their monday game against Burkeville. Suited out just 15 kids vs Deweyvulle

  36. THIS!!! All the troubles that was going on at BISD at the time, I would not blame any parent for moving out to another school district. Particularly East Chambers. EC is an awesome school district. But, in the cases that I suspect some of you are talking about, it was family moves that brought them to EC, not athletics. BTW, I believe BISD has their act together now (or at least better than it was).

  42. with Mrs. brister at helm i am way more at ease with my kids going there shes truly a great person and leader. now football wise hopefully they get a new coach soon. all crouch does is holler a the officials and make a show on fridays every game while being complacent every week probably just there riding out a good paycheck..... Vidor is not that good(imo) but they are far better coached. i believe Lumberton is far better coached but far less talented. Lumberton by 6.... from a disappointed LCM Resident lol
