Too bad we don't have a passing game. Foster doesn't have his security blanket this year in Cartwright to sling it to. We play a good passing team that can stop the run and we're toast. I'm glad we won, but don't get carried away. Some of this is Lumberton ain't that good.

Actually, but for the mistakes, it was a dominating performance, especially in the 2nd half. There were times that Vidor was ticking off 4-5 yards per run. Brazosport was not shutting down the running game.

Must be nice to have a goal of state title every year you two lol. We just want to win the dc and make a little noise in the playoffs. Lucky to be 1-0 right now but if we beat Jasper I think that 0 might be there until the end of the season.

And it could have been worse. A few called back TDs. But the layoff hurt Newton with there young kids than jasper. Newton kids weren't understanding there assignments up front. But they will get better. Its easy to run a td in when no one is touching u. Jasper did what they were supposed to do. What they will have trouble when they meet 4a school that has as much talent. 34, 4 is not gonna beat top teams. And i still honestly believe in my opinion that if Silsbee and jasper would've complete that game that Silsbee would have came back and won.

Foster I've noticed gets better and better every game on his passing. Are he has the last couple of years.

The Eagles certainly deserve to have the best equipment and uniforms that money can buy; if I was Nike, Underarmour, or Adidas, I would sign them to a multi year contract. I’m pretty sure Underarmour has multi year deals with Southlake Carroll, Duncanville, and Euless Trinity. The only difference between those schools and Newton is size; the Eagles have been every bit as good as them on the field

Tell me about it, I didn’t realize we held BP to only 168 yards of total offense. While Root had 164 all by himself with the Pirates rushing for 323 yards on the night. [Hidden Content]

Player of the game is Silsbee running back Malik Jones. Jones had 8 carries for 170 yards and 4 TD's, all in the 1st half. Never played a down on offense in the 2nd half. Silsbee rushed for 388 yards (total yards was 414)

lumberton coaches need to sit down and try to figure out why they are so bad. Are they not teaching fundamentals, is the new offense too complicated, are they playing the wrong personnel, is it a lack of talent? Hopefully they can figure it out. After that they need to meet with the team and try and find out why they won’t compete. I know Silsbee has much more talent than Lumberton, but this score is ridiculous

Defense played dang good and offense was solid. May just be me, but having to do that snap from the semi-gun just adds another ball handling problem to an already hard to synchronize offense. But I bow to the Coaches. Maybe I’m just to old to appreciate it, lol. And hey, a win is a win, especially against a good team.

Newton upfront isn't that gud against bigger teams.there inexperienced is showing right now.they have a long way to go. Jasper will need to do something besides running limerick and thomas.thats not gonna work against better teams.

Great game!

To be honest not good. They have good size on the Oline but zero push so the RB’s are shaking tackles before they even get going. Diboll still sets up in a pass option offense but does not pass the ball with any effectiveness. Madisonville stacked the box and Liberty is stacking the box with no answer from my Lumberjacks. Nobody they play at this point will respect a passing game from Diboll. They are still rusty from a limited off season but right now they are not a threat in 3A D1 in my opinion...unfortunately.
