Diboll was an excellent football team, and had one of the best defensive fronts we've seen since being in this classification. I can see why they held teams to negative yards and no first downs throughout the season. How'd the sub-varsity play out in the district this year?

That was a disappointing game for WOS fans, even though we won it. Salado was never a threat to win. We shut down their offense, but we should have scored more. I think our players went into that game a little overconfident because we knew we could stop them. Our offense was just flat. Madisonville and Wimberley were both better than Salado.

And here we thought SFA beating Duke was the biggest miracle last night. Watching the video (and Mack’s above might have been the most incredible I’ve seen) I would have said it was impossible there weren’t going to be a lot of casualties. Hopefully the 3 injured will make full recoveries.

I agree with this. I was at LSU and their fans repeatedly told me how impressed they were with our OL. That's a damn sight from where we are as a group now. Can't run the ball to save our lives. Me thinks Herman has lost the locker room. He'll get at least another year, but he's gonna have to make some moves on his staff. Injuries or no injuries, this year has been a miserable disappointment.

Exactly, I think people have this preconceived idea that you have to be a certain color to play a certain position: qb- white, RB/WR- black But look where we are currently in the NFL. Some of the top performing qbs this year: Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, Russel Wilson, Patrick Mahomes... all have one thing in common. And arguably the best RB in the NFL this year: Christian McCaffrey. Its not about race. One of the best examples I can think of is Manvel vs Highland Park about 2 years ago for the state championship. All black vs all white, athletes everywhere, amazing shootout.

This old Newton guy was pulling for the L-Train. Good season Raiders. Most teams in the state never made it to the first round. You make it to the second. Good job, well done and wishing your team the best in the future.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s absolutely pathetic that grown men get on here to bash the Lumberton football program and the kids. My question is for what? Lumberton is a program that has historically struggled. It’s a huge accomplishment for Lumberton to get to the 2nd round of the playoffs in consecutive seasons. Great season for the Raiders. They got beat by a team who quite possibly will be holding up the trophy as state champs at the end of the season.

That’s pretty duh statement, of course you can only win games with Hispanics in those places because that’s all that freaking lives there. You’re killing your own argument. NS used to be basically all white and sucked at football, now “Hispanics have taken over” and the black and white population of the school combines to less than 30% of the total and they’re winning state titles. You can apply the same logic to Duncanville who’s majority Hispanic now as well. My wife graduated from Dallas Skyline. They’re 75% Hispanic and have a similar enrollment to NS. Up until recently they were basically DFW’s version of NS. Now they suck because their coach went to Duncanville. Go look at the before and after records for both teams and you’ll see the differences. Hispanics moving in make your enrollment go up, they don’t make you sorry all of a sudden. Dayton doesn’t have a problem with Hispanics ruining their football program. Dayton had the fewest black kids I can ever remember seeing on their team the past couple years we played. They have a problem with a crappy coach and low participation rates. You’re misconstruing regentrification with simply having additional enrollment that happens to be Hispanic.

North Shore has 5,000 in high school; quite a few more to pick from. People always point to NS as the ONE example of a Hispanic dominated school that’s successful in football. Let me rain some truth on y’all; unless you’re in the valley, west Texas or El Paso, you’re not winning football games with a bunch of Hispanic kids. Period. It’s not happening. There are tons of glaring examples of once proud, competitive teams all over the state(Houston, DFW, and East Texas) that are now downtrodden because of the Hispanic takeover.
