We love him and the rest of the staff! They are pouring into our kids and we are thankful for that. The amount of senior leadership we lost last season is proving to be the difference. La Porte (4-0, 6-1) travels to Cougar Stadium to take on a surging Crosby Cougar team (4-0, 4-3) that's coming off a 57-0 shellacking of Fort Bend Kempner. The Cougars have been steadily improving each week, and are executing very well in all 3 phases of the game. They feature a fairly balanced attack with a very strong, opportunistic defense, and dangerous special teams. Jr. QB Robison is having a solid year behind an OL that's been giving him enough time to make some plays downfield. La Porte has become a team some may not recognize after line-up changes, and scheme additions. They are no longer simply a power run/misdirection team. They alternate QB's between Sr. Saenz, and Soph. Wells with solid passing game results. Teams that load the box to slow down the Bulldog rushing attack have paid the price by getting beat by an effective passing attack featuring TE Reynolds, WR's Smith and Godbolt-Carr, and RB's Simon and Ruffin out of the backfield. LP's defense has recorded a defensive TD in each of the last three games. Will the Dawgs lock their jaws, and clamp down on the Cats, or will Cat Scratch Fever take the night?

There will be a major overhaul of districts in this region due to enrollment changes and I have focussed on the 2 districts which we now call 9-5A an 11-5A. District 10 will probably stay pretty much the same as well as disrict 12 which is out of our area. I have come up with a mock realignment for these two districts although at this point we don't know what the cutoffs will be and I just projected what the adm's would be. I made a few assumptions, one that Angleton and Barbers Hill will not survive in 5A and will become 6A. Another that The UIL will not do another major rescrambling like they did in 2024 bringing some Houston area teams back from Region 2. I tried to arrange the teams into a district 11 that has a west/south of Houston orientation and district 9 that has an east/north of Housto orientation. Some of these might surprise some people, especially Lamar Consolidated ISD totals which have changed fairly drastically because of the opening this fall of Tomas HS with 3 grades. Tomas will also be a 5A but even after you apply the 1.33 multiplier should still be a D2 school. I think all three New Caney ISD teams may fall into 5A D1 numbers. At least that is what I have been hearing.

I never said the Dallas defense is good. (even though they did play better today than they have been) But constantly bringing up the fact doesn't change anything and gets redundant. I watch plenty of games (much more than you do). But I don't have to point out the bad all the time to make myself feel important and be some know it all. I think Silsbee has the best DL/LBs in the district and I would say Top 10 in 4A. Very soldi group. Silsbee weakest link for defense has been the secondary. They are pretty young but have started to get better.

How did we ever win this game? Defense had 4 sacks, 11 hurries, 2 takeaways (1 being a pick 6), 7 tackles for loss, and 6 QB hits.
