I’m hoping they actually have the right guy this time. I was leaning with some of you that it looked more and more like a professional job. Hopefully we know the truth. I am going to post one thing here though in general. Reading this thread is almost as depressing as social media, on both sides. At least no one is celebrating a man’s murder here that I’ve seen. But those of you who are proclaiming it’s only the liberals or the Dems who do this need to expand your source of information or remove your head from the sand or your nether regions, as applicable. Specifically, I would direct your attention to the murder of Melissa Hortman, the speaker of Minnesota’s House of Representatives and her husband, both democrats (oh and their dog). The man indicted for their murder, is a self proclaimed evangelical Christian. He allegedly targeted them and other prominent democrats in Minnesota because of their politics. I didn’t read every single post in this thread so I apologize if this has already been mentioned. But these murders occurred less than 90 days ago. I did go back through this page and couldn’t find a thread dedicated to these senseless killings. I am very glad that I didn’t find one blaming Republicans and/or evangelical Christians for their deaths. Because that would be as dumb and/or unfair as blaming an entire party or segment of a part for Charlie’s death. We know next to nothing at this point other than a good man, husband and father was senselessly executed. And while I think a lot of many of you who post here, whether I agree or disagree with you, if you are one of those who rushes to get to a keyboard and politicize these tragedies, I hate to break it to you but YOU are part of the problem.7 points

According to reports the shooters father is who turned him in. His father is in law enforcement. Both his parents are Republicans. This has to be tough on the parents. Particularly his dad. Just an example of being law abiding citizens who try and teach their children the best they can on right and wrong but still sometimes a kid goes wrong in a bad way. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense in some cases.2 points -

I don’t know anyone that CELEBRATED Treyvon Martin’s death. They just said his killer was innocent of murder. Huge difference.2 points -

A radical hard right Christian dude killed a Democrat representative and her husband just a couple of months ago. I personally don't think the two sides are equal in these situations, but both have some blame.2 points -
Yep, not a professional hit, but I don’t feel bad for guessing that it was. Just another punk with hate in his heart. Hate is a very motivational driving force. Fascist written on some casings…..good thing it wasn’t a political hit either. [Hidden Content]2 points

A teacher from goose creek ISD , Jennifer Courtemanche, was on X mocking Charlie Kirk and blaming him for getting killed. I hope the ISD hears about this. I don’t think someone celebrating a political assassination should be anywhere near kids. I took a screenshot, but it won’t let me upload the picture because it’s too big2 points -

Not a gun on the democrats ban list, unless you think all guns should be banned. Maybe a more effective tactic would be for your party to stop labeling anyone they disagree with a devil, nazi, or dictator. But that’s the problem we have, folks like yourself that run on 3% of the information needed to make a rational decision still make one. These same folks can’t distinguish between Hamas and Israel as evidenced by how easily the left lathered folks up at major universities, staff included. While some may think it’s cool to say we should all take a minute and not point fingers, I’m aware and well read enough to know where most blame lies in this political mess.1 point -

The Minnesota lawmakers were mentioned. I also mentioned no flags were flown half staff, and the murderer was a professed Christian. I also brought up the fact I found no threads on the subject. These thoughts were covered on this thread. (Posted yesterday @ 8:52 a.m. this thread, and a subsequent post about the flag issue.) I tried to mention these things in a respectful--but questioning--manner. Good post. All of the killings were senseless.1 point

Righties on X were screenshotting celebratory posts and posting them and tagging people’s employers asking if they shared the same views as their employees all last night. And I’m going to be honest, I think it’s great. One of the biggest issues we’re facing today is that the fringe lunatic left was able to do and say literally whatever they wanted for a decade, often encouraged to do so by their political leaders. Never being held accountable for abhorrent behavior leads to more bad behavior. It honestly is likely playing a part in these assassinations and assassination attempts. When you’ve had it ingrained into you that the other side is the devil, while simultaneously being allowed to act however you want, it’s no surprise that some take it all the way.1 point -

PN-G Fans (Or others from out of area coming to the game)- Most of the restaurants are west of downtown--and the stadium--since the stadium is only a couple hundred yards from the bayfront. I usually recommend people coming early in the day if they can and make an afternoon & evening of it. That way you avoid the traffic on 10 (even 73 was getting bad before we retired) 146, and the Fred Hartmann Bridge. Come early and spend a few hours at the San Jacinto Monument and help support it. (Remember, La Porte is where Texas won Independence from Mexico.) It, and the Monument Inn listed below are only about 15-20 minutes from the stadium, and make for a great few hour trip. The museum is really fun if you enjoy history as a proud Texan. San Jacinto Battlefield Monument | Discover San Jacinto After that, eat at The Monument Inn. If a southern seafood fan, it's hard to beat. Eat a late lunch there, then you'll be ready for the game with plenty of time to park, etc. You can always get another snack at the game and help us pay for that sucker! lol [Hidden Content] Other places to eat that we recommend besides all the normal chain fast food places: Southern Komfort Kitchen - Rustic Steakhouse & Bar | La Porte, TX | Southern Komfort Kitchen Redesign El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant: (Tommy Taco Dinner is excellent. Get them 'all the way'.) - Mexican Food, Breakfast Tacos, Homemade Tortillas in La Porte, TX King's BBQ (Excellent stuffed Spud) Kings BBQ Chili's Chili's Grill & Bar There's also a Walk-On's Sports Bar & Bistreaux if that's your preference. La Porte Locations | Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux 568 There are other good places that I haven't mentioned. These are just a few. Of course, there's always the normal Whataburger, Popeye's, McD's, Burger King, Wingstop. Denny's, Hartz Chicken, DQ, Kentucky Fired Chicken, Waffle House, Subway, Taco Bell, etc.1 point -
