whatever y'all need to tell yourselves, I guess. I get that it's "just a scrimmage", but really? when you get beat so bad one team sits starters during the live portion that's saying something.

I know it may be hard to hear that they likely have zero players that will lose an athletic scholarship because of the football season folding, but the truth hurts sometimes. It's not meant to be offensive. It's an absolute fact that the chances of a Texas high school football player receiving a scholarship to play beyond high school is miniscule. Roughly 2% receive a scholarship of any kind.. less than 1% receive a full scholarship. If you line up 100 kids from the state (including Westlake, Southlake Carrol, Carthage, Aledo,.. hell... Katy, Barbers Hill, Nederland, WOS..), you honestly think that 2.. or 1.. out of that 100 will be a kid that plays at Sabine Pass High School? Get your feelings out of the equation, dude. And.. believing that a kid incapable of (catching) as a sophomore can somehow be "coached up" and become a scholarship player brings your knowledge of the game into question.

Don't know how accurate any of this, but an anecdotal note realted to the list. I work in Houston and people from there ask me often why I live anywhere near Beaumont because of the danger....like it or not the reputation of Beaumont is poor. When people from Houston feel their town is safer than yours that's not good.

He has participated. Would be no different than a player transferring after playing last season. If it is determined the transfer is for athletic reasons (which this one would clearly be) then he will be ineligible. I can't see any DEC ruling him eligible. No matter if he establishes residency. Also, the word I am getting on this situation is this young man has got the wrong people in his ear telling him he doesn't have to go by the team rules. They had some issues last season. Not a team player. Thinks he is above the team and should be treated special. He came in this season with the attitude that you can't win without me so therefore treat me that way. Brenham will never sign off on him and whatever district he transfers to (if he does) that DEC will not rule him eligible. I will say, if he were to transfer, his best bet would be with Navasota. It's possible that the two Fort Bend schools (Crawford and Willowridge) along with Stafford, could vote in his favor just to keep the opportunities open for themselves when transfers come their way. He would need to transfer now so that DEC can make the ruling. Next year a different DEC could be in play with realignment.

lol. Sometimes, when someone got up to adjust the rabbit ears, just them touching it would make the picture crystal clear, and we would make them stand there for a few minutes. The first remotes simply turned the dial and you would have to go from 4, 6, and 12 till it got to the right number. lol

I sold my home in Lumberton to go remodel my childhood home in PA after my Father passed. I'm waiting on rates to sell it and get back to Lumberton or Silsbee, preferably Lumberton. When I first moved to Lumberton in 2000, I received 2 speeding tickets 10 days apart......Stupid ones, like 44 in a 35 on Westchance cutoff.......I was mad at first, but learned to appreciate a clean town and very little crime. Lumberton has it's problems, but I would choose it over anyplace in our area.

Vidor did way better than expected they had 5 tds in the scrimmage part and 2 of those were passes. They allowed one td per both teams. On the 12 minutes scrimmages they had one TD pass and Nacogdoches had one Against Jasper had one rushing td and Jasper had none.

Lumberton is losing this battle bad. Lumberton is pitching a shut out.... against itself. Dang!!!

If I am the Navasota coach, I'm telling him to take his ass back to Brenham. If he isn't compliant there, he won't be compliant at Navasota. It's a tale as old as time. He needs his dad or an uncle to snatch him up by his shirt collar, drag him into the Brenham field house, make him apologize to his coaches and team, then get his behind in gear to be ready to roll before district play starts.

In Orangefield/Silsbee scrimmage: OF 1st team scored on 3 long TD passes. Silsbee 1st team scored 3 rushing TD's and 1 passing TD. Orangefield had lots of trouble running on the Silsbee defense. Silsbee run game looked very solid. Tiger secondary will have to improve. Lot's of blown coverages. With no contact on the QB, it is hard to assess how the Silsbee QB will be. Many times he could have tucked and ran with it and they never really ran a read option due to the no contact. I think he will bring a dynamic to that position that Silsbee has not had since the Jeremy Johnson and Patrick Reed days.

This hits home....the random fan just doesnt realize all that goes into doing some of those remote shows etc...a lot of moving parts, you need a certain level of expertise and you need people willing to do grunt work to make it come together...podcasts are a way simplier medium w/less moving parts
