Trump has the lowest approval rating in the last 80 years
thetragichippy and 3 others reacted to SmashMouth for a topic
I don't agree with everything DJT does. If I did, then I would be a mindless automaton like many people seem to be. But I can tell you right now, between DJT and Crazy Uncle Joe or Kamala the Ho, the choice is simple and crystal clear. Those were the choices. I made mine, and I'm happy with it. The choice to me was to go in the exact opposite direction of where I thought we should be headed (Biden/Harris) or head in the right direction with a few roadblocks and detours to navigate (Trump). It may take longer than I'd like, and the detours may be a little bumpy, but I'm gonna have a better chance at getting where I want to go with DJT. The alternative choice (ultra-progressive) was not only never going to even get me in the vicinity of where I wanted to be, it was going to put ALL of us in a bad place. Piss...moan... do whatever you like, but we will be in a better position when this is all said & done.4 points -
I will be fasten and praying for your wife’s complete healing. Thank you for her testimony. She is definitely beating all odds. Aren’t you glad we know a man who can move a mountain, can feed a hundred and forty four thousand with fish and bread. But God!!! 😇3 points

“Winning wise” it is a step up from Elgin to WV for a single season. It is a massive step down from Aledo. Also, there are many coaches who would rather make 6A money vs 3A money.3 points

I understand. This will be a long post, so don’t read if you wish. I’ll try to explain my thoughts. To answer your gas questions, this was my business for decades. Gas is a commodity that fluctuates with the seasons & barrel pricing. While Brent & WTI are low right now, Spring seasonal blends (required for environmental regulations) add significant cost. I wouldn’t expect prices to come down a lot until late summer if the barrel price remains low. Mudbugs are expensive everywhere this year. Plus, core season isn’t until Mid May. You’ll pay more the earlier you buy. Now, to the core with some background. I grew up on a farm in far north Texas. We were literally poor as the dirt we farmed & went bankrupt due to a bad season & weather. My dad was able to get on at the local DuPont La Porte plant starting out bagging 100 lb bags and paid back all of our debts. I learned to be frugal at an early age. My wife & I have always lived well below our means. I shop for basics at Aldi as I find them much cheaper than anyone else. Other groceries I typically buy at Kroger using digital or regular coupons. If it’s not on sale—or I don’t have a coupon—I don’t buy it. We only eat out 1 or 2x a month. Then, it’s usually Chilis, or Subway, or our local Texmex. Sometimes, Popeyes—if I have a coupon. I use my Veteran discount everywhere that allows. My wife’s disease is untreatable & incurable. It is a Parkinson’s Plus disease (CBD/PSP) which has a life expectancy of 7 years. We’ve beaten that already by almost a year. Every day is a blessing. I’m sure you know what I mean & Im sorry for your cancer. Wishing you the best! What I don’t want is to lose her prematurely because of a side effect that we can’t get medical care to address. For the first time, I didn’t vote. So, I won’t slam. But, I can critique with—what I try to be fair—criticisms. I wouldn’t have voted for Harris—period. Trump scared me with his stance on medical. But, I felt he would be better on immigration & the economy. Not a fan of tariffs, but I understand his goal. I wish the tax cuts being permanent had been first on his agenda. I’m good with immigration. Basically, I’m okay for now with his performance. I haven’t seen a large spike in prices because of how I shop. The prices that are higher have been higher since the last administration and are because of ‘sticky prices.’ Once they go up, they rarely come back down to Pre-inflation levels. We’ll see how it goes from here.3 points

I have enough sense to not base Trumps term on his first 100 days. I also have enough sense to say I could change my mind in time.2 points -

I was joking with my "listen to the OC comment". Based off the WV posters in this thread it would seem they think they lost to Gunter because last year's HC didn't listen to the OC and open the offense up. I ain't from WV and do not think they improved their situation with this hire.2 points

Curious, who did you have in mind to be the new AD/HC out of the applicant list? If not out of the list, then who were you wanting? Realistically1 point -
Nine consecutive quarters of GDP growth under Biden. The Weasel announces his tariff plan, Wall Street tanks, GDP goes red first quarter in 3 years. That’s pretty danged instant results. But go ahead. Blame is an excellent way to solve problems. [Hidden Content]1 point

Elgin didn't have a winning season from 2015-2020...Clawson takes over 2021...they bottom out year one 0-10...next year 7-4 in 2022...area playoffs in 2024 gotta give him some credit for turning Elgin around1 point -
I want someone who takes accountability for their actions, good or bad. To take credit for every success and blame someone else for every failure is not normal. Today, for instance. First quarterly shrinkage in GDP since ‘22 and he blames Biden. True leaders don’t do that. [Hidden Content]#1 point

Ain’t it funny how people have an epiphany when their cash cow gets cut? Lmao [Hidden Content]#1 point -
Lol. There will always be a whataboutism from both sides. It has to be done because if one is not consistent with their outrage, then it is simply whining, not conviction.1 point

Just take a look at what’s happening with cargo coming into our west coast ports. Or not coming in, as it were. It’s the New Golden Age (don’t forget to stock up on toilet paper). If it turns out in a few weeks that we’re dealing with pandemic-like shortages based on Trumps Willy-nilly tariff debacle, he won’t have any place to hide. Neither will his supporters. China is about to put the hurt on the USA. “Nuh uh! They need our money!” Wrong they’ve still got plenty of our money, and especially not when we have to keep sending piles of cash their way, not for consumable goods, but to repay the loans that they’ve already made to us. And if we default it will destroy our economy. How’s that retirement check gonna handle $100 for a loaf of bread? My opinion is that we’re in a bad spot. How soon can we expect trump to announce that somebody… ANYBODY is willing to make a trade deal with us? So far the tariff policies have resulted in exactly zero agreements. They aren’t blinking, so Trump paused them for 90 days. We’re in an exceptionally bad spot.1 point -

Correct, and Reagan was concerned that lots of these folks were being treated like slave labor and this was a way to allow them out of their situation. Like the idea or not, it is nothing like what we had under Biden. Also, as you have indicated, there was another important part of Reagan’s plan, assimilation. Pretty sure he wouldn’t have coddled MS-13 members either.1 point

He could right the ship on this and you’d simply move to another topic you don’t agree with. Biden IS responsible for the economic mess we are in. Bidenomics….remember? Trouble is, you expect instant results when you have never expected that from anyone else. When you can admit to that, then maybe we can start to agree.0 points
