Because BISD will not allow a new coach to bring in his on staff they will only be able to hire hometown boys are retreads like Stowers. United will never be successful until they allow a new coach, with a good resume, and not homegrown, to pick his own staff. Beaumont has the talent to be really competitive but if you don’t bring in someone different to stir things up and bring in a new perspective. Your just going to go through the same ole routine.

I don’t think it’s about wanting to “see kids fight” but more to see for themselves what started it and how bad things ended up. I don’t think anyone wants to see it out of any kind of enjoyment, at least I hope not.

Probably the same reason some folks are worried about tariffs under Trump but not under Biden, even after he actually increased some of Trump’s tariffs. Just enjoy the fact that we have a president that is pro America.

I know the real reason Kountze and Silsbee didn't play this summer, but out of respect for my best friend who is the assistant coach I won't say. Just know Silsbee don't duck no rec.

There will be reprimands. Comes with the territory. I only posted about suspensions that have been handed out. I highly doubt either coach will be suspended for a game

Nederland is a well coach team, they beat us over the break, they play us now it will be a different story but I'm talking about Port Arthur, Beaumont united, Westbrook. and it's not on the kids they play who on the schedule, one thing I know about Sig he gone play a tough non district schedule even know we be in football. win, lose or maybe, we rather be 21-12 and be battle tested and go to state then go 30-2 and play cupcakes. and finally play somebody tough and lose. if this is one of ktz best teams and you know your district is weak just like our district. why not play all the good teams that surround you. iron sharpen iron, right?

Kountze pre-district schedule was nothing to scoff at. You can’t play teams that decline the games. I’m sure different teams turn down games for different reasons so no reason to speculate. It was a fun topic a few weeks ago, but at this point in the season it’s clear this particular game will not happen. Good luck to both teams on their potential runs to State.

yall know dang well ktz can't beat Silsbee, I try to scroll past the ktz and Silsbee matchups because I got ppl in ktz, but come on let's be for real Silsbee by 20 easily. ktz don't play none of the good teams in this area, it's a reason. beating up on Kirbyville can trick people into thinking they can beat Silsbee, again its levels to this. ktz is having a good season and I wish them the best. but every dollar in my bank account going on my Tigers vs Ktz , and my wife bank account.

DEC doesn’t have the power to do that, I don’t believe. It has to go to the SEC for punishments for Coaches/Programs. I’d expect, and this is just my guess after listening to prior hearings, that each HC might get a 1 game suspension/letter of reprimand over it for not being able to keep their bench from clearing out plus there’s also the possibility of a probation period for one or both of these programs and also for additional player suspension time added on by SEC. We’ll have to wait and see but there’s definitely gonna be SEC meetings with each HC/District bigwigs over this. I guess the bright side of all this is that with 5 RSS players out, maybe REL stands a chance of beating RSS tonight? Glass half-full here!

Not sure why both Head Coaches aren’t suspended for a game. Ultimately the HC is responsible personal conduct for all its players and coaches…

We used to leave dead deer on the entrances to Deer Park school buildings, burnt LP into their football field on the 50, and left birdseed all over the visitors side of Bulldog stadium where the seagulls from the Bay would shit all over their side before the game. They’d leave dead dogs on our steps. Fights, yes. But, never one like that I’m aware of. Rivalry started in ‘46.

When you & your co-workers spend 40+ hours a week working with each other, but on a certain Friday night, all bets are actually ‘ON’ from the game week wagers, and the loser has to listen to the crap for a year. Of course, when the game history is 75 years old or more, it’s pretty much grown into classic status—especially if the wins are fairly close. I find the best rivalries are between communities/towns. Not those between multi-school districts.

Silsbee plays teams like West Brook and United (sometimes more than once) early in the year, every year, knowing they're going to lose way more often than not. We don't just decided to call them up for a game when we've got a good team. If Kountze wants to play, then lets make it a yearly ordeal. It could be a fun event. I'm not sure what the Lions have coming up in the lower ranks, so this may or may not be a good match up past this season.

Warm up game ain't happening. It's kind of funny to me. I see lot's of Kountze folks on social media wanting this game to happen this year. But where were these people the last 12 seasons? Either play regularly or don't play at all. You can't "cherry pick" when or if you want to play. Take the bad with the good.

If they are shooting it well I would pick Kountze. Nothing against Silsbee of course, but if Kountze is shooting it well it’s gonna be tough.
