There is nothing like being at a Playoff Game in-person. The Weather, The Crowd, The Stadium Atmosphere. I will be exhausted driving up to Nacogdoches after work & having to drive back to be available for a church program on Saturday, but you can bet your booty I will be glad for the in-person experience of PNG Indian Football. This is season number 59 of PNG Football for me!!!

I miss those days going to the best games in the area every weekend. We ate a lot of good food and had a lot of good fellowship. And our convos weren't always about football rather life. Covid and life kind of put a stop to a lot of that.

On a related subject, I believe that Derek Gholke could have been the first freshman to start a varsity game at PN-G in the early 2000s. That first start was actually against Nederland, and Gholke started at middle linebacker and had an interception with a nice return early in that game. Derek was later moved to running back. Does that last name sound familiar?

Congrats to La Porte and Angleton on cleaning out the region. Both team drew good stylistic matchups in the regional semis and took advantage of them. Angleton looked like they improved their passing game against College Station but I would probably still lean La Porte by a score. I think I would favor either of these teams over Smithson Valley but I think La Porte would have the best chance against Aledo in the title game.

I think they'll be fine. After all, they were playing the 4th ranked 5A team and they're just now getting the football players back. I think they'll still win the district. They won't go undefeated and there won't be many blowouts. It will certainly be more dramatic but the end result will be the same. And that's some 5A district. No. 4, No. 6, No. 7 and No. 17. Never bought it in my 60+ years. Used to attend games weekly with my wife, old classmates, & friends met in HS football forums up until about 5 years ago. We would travel around to see games together. Got my info direct viewership & convos during games & pregame meals. We used to have a great time (I think anyway). Since my wife has become unable to care for herself, I try to keep up via this forum & broadcast games. So, I’m very appreciative of games being streamed at least. She still enjoys watching with me as well. Hopefully, with LP’s new stadium, we’ll be able to attend games again. I’ll push her wherever & however to get her to ‘date night’ at DQ & the new handicap seating area it’s supposed to have. Nothing against DCTF. Just always preferred to see for myself. As far as history, I try to keep up as best I can, and remember as I can from memory. What I have left. 😊

I have been buying the mag for over 50 years and still have them all, but never saw this happen before. I guess instead of the magazine being the main thing like in the past, the "digital subscription" is now. I think most people just want the magazine and don't want the subscription. Why should I pay for recruiting news when I can get it free. And I have no need for "7 on 7" news as that is not real football. If it was, it would have blocking and tackling. I can even find predictions for free. And the magazine hits the stands if at all very late now. You use to be able to get it in early July. This year I kept looking for it and finally found it about mid August at Walgreens after practices had been going on for awhile. As far as I know that was the only outlet in Angleton that ever had it. I never saw it at Walmart or any of the other usual places.

No matter what, I LOVE watching the UIL’s “daddy ball” agenda with moving PNG to Region 2 totally IMPLODE…Liberty Hill gets to watch from the COUCH while the INDIANS are on a path to completely ELIMINATE the “darling” DFW and North TX from the 5A div II State Championship game! I think those Neches River boys are still hungry. That game last Friday blew my mind. This MORON thought that PNG's season was over. But, the defense was in attack mode in the 2nd half and I knew that if PNG could run they would win. I honestly thought PNG would play catchup the entire game. The Damage, Inc. Defense + Clock Mgmt + Hunger is Dangerously effective. I'll take PNG -6.5. Calpreps has SOC by 14. That's better than last year. Stay hungry boys!

PNG's defense has improved drastically. TH would've scored 50+ on PNG's defense from earlier in the season and they held them them to their lowest points of the season last week. TH offense in my opinion is more explosive than SOC. SOC by far has more talent but PNG has proven the last 3 years that doesn't matter. If the Indians can hang around like last week I think they will win.

Hey, it comes down to a bunch of high school kids vs another bunch of high school kids , each team under the guidance of a coach. Execution & game management is always the key. That goes for whether you are from the Dallas Mecca High School of SOC, or the chemical plant Reservation of PNG. Let's play the game & see who wins!!! You’d be hard pressed to find a community that supports their football team like PNG at any classification. It wouldn’t be a money issue, he’s gonna be taken care of.

It's really confusing because it's a systems that have been proven to work are the opposite of this system, Crosby is at its best when it puts all its athletes into space and lets them be athletes, Running downhill has never been the culture of Crosby teams and does not exemplify the advantages Crosby typically has on the field which are superior athlete's and positional play. I think these kids could thrive is a mode spread out system, and the Sophomore QB showed signs of being pretty good throughout it's just a shame that #2 and #0 go out without having a winning season as top contributors when we saw how great they were as sophomores. Feels like a bunch of wasted potential, but I'm sure those two kids will go on to be undervalued prospects in college and will have great college careers. This team underachieved and that's honestly on the coach at the end of the day 7-16 is not a Crosby Coach. The only thing this coach is gonna do is reinvigorate the two HS talk because go to 6a completely unprepared is going to be bad for the school and community.
