  3. If LCM would have just ran the two TE set like in previous games the game wouldn’t even been close, I talked to a Vidor (source) and the Vidor coaches couldn’t believe that they went back to the spread against them with an average QB throwing the ball, He can scramble though. LCM o line is huge, two TE set (extra blockers) run the ball 70% and they win by a lot.

  6. They just wanted a chance to make a playoff game. Nobody expects them to be playing on Turkey day. They will have an easier path to round 1 in 4A D1. Can we all at least agree with that statement? Try leaving the personal stuff in the political forum too.

  8. I just dont see how vidor loses to LCM by 4, and all of a sudden BC is 21 points better than vidor? Is BC 17 points better than LCM by the same standard?

  11. Dude, I wish it weren't so, but my Raiders ARE an easy out. I still cheer for them every game. Be happy when they win and sad when they lose. But I have no rose-colored glasses on. Unlike our little buddy Left_Back_Two_Times or whatever his names is. He could use a dose of reality! Lmao.

  16. If you opt up to face bigger schools than your classification, that's alpha. Why did Newton collect all of those 1A/JV trophies? Because they, unlike BC, weren't willing to opt up. "We just play who they tell us to" says Newton fan on the way to a blowout win in the second round over some team none of us have ever heard of. Just a couple years back the Lyins from Livingston tried to cheat their way down for a competitive advantage. Not us.... we filled out the form opted up. And I distinctly remember just a few years back when Lum fans were GIDDY about dropping back down to 4A D1... then Vidor felt the same way two years later. All of those those schools and fanbases were ecstatic... they no longer had to face the larger, more talented schools in 5AD2. Every year on snapshot day, Lumberton fans celebrate on this very board if they stay under the 4ad1 cutoff number. Did they "flee" down? Nope.... and we didn't "flee" up to face bigger schools, either. The only people calling it a "Loophole" are the ones that either 1) just got beat by BC or 2) are worried they're about to get beaten by BC. Y'all wouldn't be complaining if we were 0-4 after moving up. That's beta.

  17. Lufkin wins this game, maybe not 56-7, will see.. West Brook is playing at home and Lufkin is coming off the big win over BH, and the Bruins have had two weeks to prepare. The travel won't bother Lufkin, because they've traveled forever as a program. Lufkin has already traveled to Texarkana 3 hrs to play Little Rock SW (W 57-12) and 1.5 hrs to Tyler (W 39-27) . This one is no problem either. The head scratcher in the WB schedule is they played a close game against Eisenhower, then barely beat Lumberton and lost to Silsbee. Something is not quite right when a 5A DI program barely beats a 4A DI school Lumberton and then loses to a 4A DII Silsbee. I think the BWB defense might be the strength of their team while the O struggles to score. Just saying Lufkin, PAM, BH and Ball win over those two 4A teams by several scores and sit the starter after the half. Lufkin will be without a few starters again this week, LB, WR, QB and maybe a RB. Thankful the team has depth this year. Looking forward to off week after Friday to get healthy. Anyway this could easily be a let down game for Lufkin if they are not careful, I think they already know this and are preparing for that not to happen.

  18. It was perfect timing for me, I'd never thought I'd be pulling for BC as an Orangefield alum. I've got family playing for BC now, so naturally I root for them. On another note "fled" is a very accurate description, but it doesn't bother me as much as I see it bothers others. BC is not near the level of program as WOS, Silsbee, HF (In recent years), and Jasper. Opting up to a District where everyone, including the players, think they have a shot only benefits the team. I know what BC is/isn't and some of the claims about them are crazy. BC IS much better than last year, but they are not a deep playoff team from what I've seen so far. Do I think they would beat WOS, Silsbee, HF and/or Jasper? It wouldn't surprise me if they beat one of them, but I don't think they do. However, I don't think it would be blowouts week in and week out like last year. If/When BC is legit, no-one will have to say it.

  20. I started posting that in hopes that others would post in that thread what games they would be attending that week. Just a fun little thing. BTW, district standings are posted each week. You just need to look harder. Here, I'll hold your hand: [Hidden Content]

  24. Bridge City has improved, that's a fact!! But what I want to see is what they can do against a a team with a fast, quick defense. I also want to see if they can defend a speedy offense. Can the BC secondary hold up against a strong passing game? I have seen BC twice this season. Scrimmage against Silsbee, game against Orangefield. On the sidelines for both. So I have seen with my own eyes, up close. I just have some doubts what BC could do against some fast, athletic teams. I think they would struggle some. I just don't think they WOULD beat Silsbee, Jasper, HF and WO-S. Could they? Well maybe.

  25. I'm jealous for other reasons. Not the red shirts nor the concession stand. Maybe it's the FREE YouTube broadcasts? Naw. It's the community and kids embracing the new staff and the culture change they brought with them. Winners rub off on others. Cardinal country will no longer be known as a baseball school. Although I expect winning on the gridiron to help on the diamond next spring.

  33. We can always put polls in the, “for what it’s worth” department. The Real Clear Politics average of several polls is Harris at +2. The Atlas Intel poll which almost nailed the final outcomes in 2016 and 2020, has Trump at +3 nationally and +3 in Pennsylvania. The RCP average has Trump at +0.3 in Pennsylvania.

  34. [Hidden Content] Can't make this up...from the article: A U.N. human rights group confirmed Hamas’ leader in Lebanon, who was recently killed by Israeli strikes, was their employee. Fateh Sherif was killed Monday in an airstrike on the al-Bass refugee camp in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, along with his wife and children. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) noted that Sherif had been on suspension with the organization since March but had not been fired.

  37. I wish they would have scheduled a couple of the four teams in their original district. Buna, Kirbyville, and OF did nothing for the Cards. I know the OF game is a rivalry game but the other 2 could have been better opponents.

  38. Run FROM teams?? All we do is RUN ALL OVER TEAMS now, See below: VS Buna 54-6 VS Kirbyville 50-0 VS Orangefield 28-7 VS Lumberton 28-7 Combined scores of 160-20

  40. Frustrating watching LCM's screen/short passes sailing over the top of the receivers. I thought Fuller ran the ball great when called upon. Other than the broken coverage Vidor scored on, I thought LCM's Defense looked good against the Slot-T, especially if you think about the amount of time they were on the field.

  41. If everyone had this approach y'all would've never even seen me in a BC thread.

  42. Actually, it did affect those 4 teams. Had BC, HJ and Liberty stayed in the district, HF, Jasper, Silsbee and WO-S would not have had to scramble to schedule a 5th (maybe even 4th) non-district game. When you are just a 6 team district, getting a 5th non district opponent is difficult. With Shepherd and Tarkington moving up that helped fill the district but had they not, that district would have been staring at having a 4 team district. Then having to find two more non district games. Trust me, having those three schools opting up affected the other 4 schools.

#9 vs #10 Ball vs PAM

I saw Ball play the 2nd half vs Sterling, but it should be a good game and like most football games whoever can run the ball better and least turnovers will win. This is a district game that Ball has needed the past 2 years to help them get ready for the playoffs.

    Week 4

I know that it’s not part of y’alls discussion and I don’t know how long it will last but: Lamar is 3-1 after tonight. Last week they beat 1AA #22 ranked Weber State. On the NCAA website they have Lamar listed at #22 in the country and possibly moving up after tonight’s win. The honeymoon might not last long with some big games on the schedule but how long since Lamar football has been listed on the top 25 in 1AA football…. if ever.
