Silsbee has now won 5 straight and 7 of last 8 against Jasper. This is also the first time Silsbee has had back to back 10-0 regular seasons.

Everyone got plenty of playing time, even Adams came in to take victory formation honors. Galena Park has a very good band and drill team. The football team is few in number, and mostly small, but there was some hitting going on, especially from their offensive line, regardless of the outcome. Congrats to the Indians, district champs.

As far as this game goes, BH lost it more that Porter won it. BH up 21-0 in the 3rd and can't seal the deal? Thats on them! Not the refs, the weather, clerical errors or any such thing. BH is soley responsible for their 2nd half implosion. Our short swing passes were working great but we could not connect on a long pass to save our lives. Every single one of them were overthrown. All...night...long. Why keep forcing that when you need 3-4 yards? That, and the tackling was terrible.

I think PnG will be ok. Brenham is soft on defense, and doesn’t have a lot on offense. Not to mention being pretty mistake-prone. I expect a comfortable 42-21 PNG win.

Well…….regular season is over and I hate to end it on a loss but now I’m a fan of La Porte, PAM, and Porter. We have TONS of talent in this district. I really hope we can all get it to together and make a run. I’m sick of the same teams going deep every year.

Thanks for the info. My Silsbee part of the family will like this. It will allow them to attend the Jasper game with our family of Jasper supporters. Congratulations HF and WOS also. Anything is possible. WOS could pull a surprise.

Downfall? It was the literally the only way we were in a position to win. If we were done in, it wasn’t because smith was chosen to run one more time. It was because Silsbee showed grit and finally made a play to stop him and not have him mowing through several defenders for chunks of yards at a time. hats of to coach c. on saving a weapon all season. 4 clearly showed why he is a prized recruit.

If this is a complaint I'd love the details since I'm not sure what is the problem.

Chester v. Medina (Funky Cold), TBA. I had to look it up, Medina is SW of Fredericksburg. They are 9-1 and won their district. Wow, safe to say this one will involve travel for both teams.

I’m just saying BH got more flags at important times in the game. When Porter got penalized it was always a wash with an offsetting penalty. Home cooking does happen meaning the refs seem to pay more attention to what the visiting team is doing than the home team. If you have never witnessed this you don’t watch football. Also I thought the O line did a pretty good job at least protecting the QB ,the running game though they weren’t opening holes like the last game. BH beat themselves last night regardless and there is multiple factors that played into that.

Not a popular opinion amongst those who post a lot, but LP has actually been the most consistent team in 8-5A all year. Nothing flashy. Just steady. A throwback to the old LP as I’ve stated multiple times. They didn’t even settle on a QB until Week 5/6, and have also had their share of injuries and players out as did other district teams. Still, they just steadily plugged along. All this without having a ‘true’ home game all year. I consider that fairly impressive in itself. (Not sure where this first round PO game will be either since we don’t have a home field right now.) Until 2017–and a string of multiple coaches that didn’t work out, new district leadership, and other changes—La Porte was a PO team for basically 30 years straight. (Even as typically the smallest school in whichever district they were placed.) Teams always knew—win or lose—they were in for a ‘dog fight’ when they matched up with La Porte. This group of young men have never known the PO’s. So, we’ll see how they fare. But, I’m sure the staff will have them as ready to play as possible. Good Luck to all the 8-5A PO teams. I’ll be rooting for all.

Congrats to Porter what a huge win for their team, coaches and Seniors tonight. BH just wasn’t there tonight. Between home cooking ( I know y’all don’t want to hear that, but there was some terrible calls against BH ) BH QB off on the long throws, two blow coverages allowing 2 big runs for 14 points and the BH coaches just imploding in the 4th and OT! BH up by 21 when the 4th started just absolutely terrible all around. After all of that it looks like somehow we get 2nd seed and a home game next week. Throw this game in the garbage work hard this week and beat McKinney Nirthb!

When was the last time Silsbee had a QB that was threat to take off for a big play? Yeah, we're importing one in from West Brook next week, but I don't know how much he'll do this year. Used to be unheard of for Silsbee to have slow, unathletic QBs that just sit back in the pocket. Be nice to have that threat again for opposing defenses to worry about.

Very true. But what I ve mentioned has been in the works for awhile i know the border has been a mess here lately but we should’ve been rejecting entry to certain people a long time ago. These college students are clueless and universities have no standards
