I think it’s time for the Mustang Faithful to realize that the past is gone forever and isn’t coming back. You can’t simply hire an old assistant who has struggled elsewhere and expect a return to greatness… that ship has sailed. A decent coach will get y’all some wins, but unless you land another HOF level guy (and none of the former assistants y’all are yelling for are even winners, much less HOF level guys), you’ll be above average most years and that’s about it. Personally, I’d like to give a big shout out to all of the people who signed the petition to run CT out of town. Y’all got what you ordered… eat it up.

He's a Silsbee alum. I thought he wanted to prove them wrong when they fired him as DC. Almost looks like a well orchestrated plan to infiltrate and kill the competition from within. Kids are paying the price for this. We will have no D1 scholarships. Shaw got lucky that he was already being recruited before this fell apart last season. The sophomores that were starting against CS 2 years ago would've had a chance. If not for the administration's efforts to please the people that aren't here supporting our kids. Voters have spoken will continue to step up for what's best for the students. Might even see WOSdrummer99 signs next election cycle. This experiment has to be stopped. We want Bevil, Locks, Toby, DPG, and all other candidates to have a fair chance for employment at our equal opportunity school district. No more discrimination. No more demanding hiring anyone based on race. This is what we get when quality candidates are turned away and leaders of young men are hired for the wrong reason. I wouldn't be surprised if more move to LCM on Monday. Or if this ends up like the 96 season when almost all the senior leadership quit. WOS 112% 112 was also the total points scored tonight btw

West Brook has taken down several schools with much higher enrollment. That's never been an excuse until recently. It's all about having the right coach. Stump, Peavey and even Flanagan put together playoff teams with no issue. Nobody had more obstacles than Coach Durley and he brought home a championship.

I'm a Mustang through and through, but I'm also a realist. This game won't be close. We (WOS) might hang tight for a bit, but in the end it'll be a 3-4 TD loss, if not worse. The Mustangs can't even do the little things on defense... things like containing the edge are long gone. It's really hard to watch.

Keep your heads up WOS. This is a tough loss, but you have a really god team. If they grow every week they will be stout come playoffs. This Indian is pulling for you. Best of luck.

I also had a RBs dad in front of me. You realize this staff told the kids they were only playing the first half and resting for next week. How do we have such an ego that we overlook a program that has more titles than we do? Swallow your pride and admit that it ain't working

That drives me crazy when these kids don’t wrap up. They’ll make a big hit with their shoulder and the runner will bounce off them and keep running sometimes.

WOS put up 50+ points. Newton a premier team scored 50. Both defenses are struggling but its still a good game. Just a lot of griping on here

At least the players aren’t being harmed by being called the Chain Gang Defense anymore - a name that used to strike pride into WOS players’ hearts and fear into WOS’ opponents. We’re all so relieved they’re being protected from the nickname they gave themselves. Really a step forward for the program. (Sarcasm, if that’s not clear)

The Mustang defense just can't shut down teams like it has in the past. Too many changes going on.

It has nothing to do with the color of a man/woman/person's skin. It has to do w the leadership from the top. These coaches and kids are starting off behind the 8 ball. All Coaches and kids not in athletic periods. It is hard for any coach to build a program if they don't have all of their kids in their athletic period (both in and out of season). Also, the facilities are garbage. BU's weight room has been there since that fieldhouse was built for Ozen. I'm sure WB's weight room isn't much better. There is a lack of quality practice facilities for both schools. They are trying to compete against schools that have indoors, turf practice fields, etc. All of this is important because when weather hits in the middle of the day, there is always somewhere to go, instead of the small gym. BISD needs an AD that will fight for his coaches and get both programs back on the same playing level as other programs. The UIL puts these teams in a district, so that is out of anyone's control, but give everyone a fighting chance and at least a shot to compete. Unfortunately, it's that way in every sport, with the exception of basketball. Do Better!!!!

I made a mistake and made my prediction of this being an easier game for BH than previous years. Some of it based on what I know about the BH team, the rest was how hard the Cougar faithful bad mouthed their coach and this team in this forum. Those boys came to play and I believe more than anything, depth hurt them and they got tired and some players hurt. I could definitely see Crosby in the playoffs. I was impressed. Also impressed by the way a banged up BH defense played in 2nd half. Good adjustments to try and stop those big runs by Crosby. Good luck to both team the rest of the season. BH offense sputtered at times but showed lots of poise to carry the team to a win.

Could be gone in 1 season. When I crunched the numbers last winter. Southlake Carroll could surpass us if we go 0-10 and they go 10-0. It hasn't got that bad. But they are steadily gaining ground on us. We are currently at .795 .804 after the CS loss 2 years ago

Beaumont, Texas has and has had some of the best high school talent in the state. Getting the right person to led them is the key! ( and it shouldn't matter what color they are). There it is I said that. Give the student/athletes the best chance to win.
