    Png 2023 ??

PNG had a great gameplan to slow Liberty Hill down last year....it was the best job anyone had done against that offense since SOC in the 2021 state game....if Liberty Hill had their two running backs maybe its a little closer, but still think PNG wins that game comfortably

    Png vs Pam

With 9 weeks until the start of the football season, I decided to get the conversation started. After taking one of the worst if not the worst home loss in school history to PAM the PNG Indians were able to quickly get the train rolling behind their first-time and first-year head coach. They finish at Cowboy Stadium with a loss in the state title game. From the looks of it on this forum, Indian fans are gearing up for another great season with key pieces and big names returning. Across twin city highway the Titans were finally able to get the 1st round playoff loss monkey off their back after 2 victories and opening up the 3rd game with promise but eventually falling to Longview. This year's football team looks to be the most recruited class since the 2012 class with multiple players with D1 offers and might have the best player in the class of 2025 & 2026 in Setx. With each team opening up the season in the Top 10 PAM(8) & PNG(6) this game is shaping up to be one of the best if not the best games to watch in week 1 in the state of Texas.

  7. It was the wort season opening loss for PNG. 2022 Port Arthur Memorial 50-15 (35 pts) 1926 Orange 41-7 (34 pts) 1955 Nederland 34-6 (28 pts) Worst losses on the books all-time for PNG 1944 Port Arthur 89-0 1987 Aldine MacArthur 75-0 I thought they lost that MacArthur game on the road though. The previous meeting in 1986 was 28-7.

You'll change it 50 times before August, it's what you do along with bothering the UIL and TASO about officiating 😁

  15. It is not necessary to pick a side. I'm not gay so I have no idea why people are, so who am I to speak out against something I don't understand? Over the years I have hired and became very good friends with gay men and women. None of them were mentally ill. ALL OF THEM added value to the business. I think the problem is trying to force people to believe in something they either don't understand or don't agree with. Calling them "homophobic" is not going to change their minds, and will only make them pick a side......which is counter productive. A business that sells to the public is making a horrible decision getting in the middle of cancel culture politics........ How about we live and let live.......

  18. But a man's life was turned upside down over teaching true science. Win or lose his lawsuit, the loony left will have succeeded. The school should have told the 4 snowflake democrats that walked out of the class to hit the road.

  19. I wonder why they would want more practice time? Hmmmm. Is it because it’s beneficial? Is it because in their experience, it was better for their team as a whole? No, I’m sure YOU’RE right. I’ll tell the experienced coaches what you said. I’m sure they’ll agree. 🀦🏽

Understood. The conversation began with folks saying PNG should be ranked ahead of LH. The reply was listing the reason/logic why LH was ranked higher. Many folks have applied a set of logic for PNG and something different for LH. For those who want to detract from LH body of work and success as if PNG is something better, is silly. PNG won the game last year convincingly. To say that LH not having their best players did not make a difference is nonsense. LH offense and defense is predicated on successfully running the ball. If RB1 and RB2 are not available, it impacts the whole game. all of the mentioned factors are why LH is currently ranked higher than PNG. BTW, I happily pull for PNG.

  25. So your argument is your son played D3 and another son walked on at UIW because their high school coaches didn't do enough to promote them? I swear, some of you guys clearly don't understand how special a talent has to be to sign a D1 scholarship for football.

  28. Agree!... When I was in school mid-90s we had summer workouts (lifting and conditioning) and we worked. Luckily, I worked for the school during the summers and was able to get off for a couple hours to make summer workouts. During those couple of hours there was no running of plays, no talk about schemes, or anything else related to football. The only thing football related was "hey let's meet at the field and throw the ball a bit" and to say kids are out in the heat more than kids back in the 90s, 80s, 70s, etc... is crazy talk lol

    Png 2023 ??

Preface: I live a stone's throw from Liberty Hill these days and spend a lot of time there. The day PN-G and Liberty Hill played last season, I threw on my PN-G gear and stopped at the Liberty Hill Dairy Queen for lunch before hitting the road to Katy. I respect everything the Panther program has accomplished. By no means should this post be construed as me downplaying their success. It's asinine to reduce PN-G to "a good story" and suggest the Indians haven't shown longevity comparable to Liberty Hill's when, over the last ten seasons, the Indians have won 71% of their games, finished four seasons with ten or more wins and finished the season in the third round of the playoffs or higher five times. Keep in mind that one of those ten win seasons occurred despite a game cancellation caused by Hurricane Harvey. Granted, Liberty Hill sports a better playoff record and a higher win percentage (79%) over the same time period. Liberty Hill was also 4ADI for seven of those ten seasons; didn't contend with three hurricanes, record-shattering rainfall from a fourth tropical cyclone, undue humiliation wrought by undeserved national media hysteria and a major industrial explosion during that period; and plays in a generally weaker region than PN-G. Liberty Hill is also a fast-growing and much more affluent community than anywhere in Southeast Texas, and has been showering its school district with extravagant resources for well over a decade. A recent former Liberty Hill school board member told me last year that roughly half of LHISD students today have out-of-state birth certificates. If we're going to bring longevity into the argument, let's account for the wildly disparate levels of adversity. There's more to this game than the surface-level numbers. Put the two teams on the same football field and I'll take the purple and white over the purple and gold any damn day of the week.

SOC lost a lot especially on defense...Melissa brings back a lot (9 and 6) they are growing like crazy so they have depth and a couple of out of state move-ins that will contribute and they went toe to toe with SOC in a very physical game in the 4th round last year..it was 16-16 going into the 4th Qtr....SOC scored to take a seven point lead..Melissa drove down got in the red zone and turned it over on downs and then SOC put the dagger in with a minute left....its not far feteched at all to have Melissa over SOC IMO
