  1. Agreed it’s going to be a great game. Only down fall for PNG is they picked Dayton for homecoming so Dayton is coming with a mission to show everyone they aren’t an easy homecoming win like years past.

  3. This is yet another straw man. So the ignorant make the claim that a police officer should not shoot a guy with a two foot long knife. They turn around and say the same officer should bring a one shot electric weapon. If the weapon doesn’t work (and reportedly it did not) or if it misses, the officer is likely dead Don’t bring a gun to a knife fight… bring a Taser. A Taser is meant as a use of force to replace a baton. When I started in police work, almost 40 years ago, we had no pepper spray, and no Taser. We had our hands and a 26” wooden baton. If a person resisted arrest, and it was not a deadly force situation, the options were to put hands on him and strike with the hands or strike with the baton. That seemed crude to some people. The Taser is meant as a hands on weapon to keep from having to beat a man down. It is not and was never intended to be used against deadly force.

  4. Checking this one out on Texan Live! Looking for the Broncos to get over the hump and beat a pretty good PNG team at the Rez. for old time sake though Dayton Sucks 👍

  5. Good grief, what are folks thinking? They know it’s against the Law so they can’t keep it in their pants? Just another example of the failed morality in our society. Definitely a “C’mon man” moment. Good grief!

  10. You could be right, but PNG has a lot of young players on the team and they look to have a pretty good few years.

  12. PNG arrogance seems misplaced. They only beat Dayton by a TD last year while Dayton was in full transition/rebuild. Dayton is still a "work in progress" but will bring quite a bit to the table that has not been available for the last several years. Dayton will have a "machine" built within the next couple of years. If PNG happens to win this one, they should savor the moment as Dayton will be a dominant force in the district in short order.

    LCM at Livingston

This game, prior to District starting, wasn’t even a blip on the radar. After LCM losing to Vidor and Livingston kicking the dog poo out out of Huffman, it’s become very interesting. The Lions showed some high powered offense Friday throwing up 69 points against Huffman. That’s a shocker.

  14. Definitely is fun to look at and think about. I find myself looking at the potential matchups as we get later into the season. His analysis makes that much easier. The potential 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round matchups give me something to over analyze. We have to take care of district first and then the 1st round but still fun to look into.

  15. Here is the huge difference. There always have been and always will be fringe elements of any stance. That isn’t new. The difference today is that individually there are people who are far out on either side but the parties are not. The GOP/RNC isn’t putting out any radical agenda. We can always say the nut job who lives at the end of the street and who supports Trump (or anyone else) is crazy. For the Democrats, it isn’t the nut job at the end of the block, it is the party. In fact, several times I have said in this forum that the rank and file Democrats probably don’t think nearly the way the Democrat leadership does. They are either stuck backing the home team or more likely, completely ignorant as to what is happening. When Florida passed a law that teachers can’t talk about transgenderism or sex changes until they are 10 years old and the Democrats went crazy, it wasn’t crazy Bob down the street but the Dem’s leadership including the White House. Therein lies the difference. The fringe has always existed. Right now the DNC “is” the fringe.

  18. You are too eaten up with your TDS or just tossing flames for entertainment. If Trump lovers controlled the RNC then it would not take Trump going out solo to endorse who he wants. He is hardly the darling of the GOP leadership so I don’t know who you are claim are controlling the Republicans.

  19. You're asking me to defend squishy moderate Republicans, sorry, can't do it. Let's see, it's cheaper to just kill the kid, go for it. There will be a day when you finally realize that argument won't hold up.

  23. I agree that PNG has seen a slight productivity loss at QB along with the RB situation! May need to consider some assignment changes in this area of the staff. On the other hand the LB play has been on point this year compared to the past! Looks like those staffing areas are pretty solid!

  28. Just between us, I talked to a friend of mine in Ltown. He’s asking the Coach there to take it easy on the Pirates. So if it’s not the slaughter you were expecting, that’s the reason. ☠️☠️😂😂😂☠️☠️☠️ Joking aside, might be a good game if we can sustain a few drives & eat up the clock. Your Raiders really are good. After the game I’ll be a Raider fan from then on. In 2018 Basketball my G’son hit the winning 3 in OT for the Raiders in WOS, so I’ve been a Raider fan before, lol. Even got Raider shirts 😂☠️😂.

  29. Yeah, cuz Vidor is a perennial topic like Carthage or WOS or (insert relevant team here). Leave them little ole Raiders alone.

  30. It gets me through the week to be honest. Outside of Lancaster, we've not been challenged much at all and 3 of the next 4 games for us are against the bottom of our district so it's just a lot of fun for me to look at all the different scenarios. Y'all's district is definitely a lot more interesting than ours. There's basically two games left in our district that will decide the seeding/top four.

  31. I can see this in her case. She has been a democrat officeholder for 20 years and the democrat party has swung wildly left in that period of time. She doesn't pretend to be a conservative, she is, without a doubt, liberal, but not liberal enough to stay with the lunatic democrat party. Her point is that they changed, she hasn't. I certainly get your point though, when you switch parties when the core platform principles are so far apart, it makes you not trust their voting moving forward. I sure wouldn't want Gabbard filling a Republican seat.

  32. They can be extremely effective and in many or probably a majority of cases end a use of force incident instantly. It is maybe 90-95% effective against people who are not jacked up on drugs. It is both extremely painful and if there is enough spread on the darts/fish hooks, it can lock up large muscle groups. In one case I shocked a possibly armed man who was in a small restroom at a restaurant. He was making threats and we believed he had a knife. To keep from having to possibly kill him we were going to use the original Taser which is far different than what is available today. It kind of looked like the old Eveready 6v lantern battery flashlights. BUT…. and this is protocol today, if a Taser is going to be used on a potential armed suspect, we must be prepared to apply deadly force instantly. That means one officer at least must be in the range to use the Taser (like 12 feet) which is much too close to a person with a knife or even club. In this case I was the unarmed (no deadly force weapons in hand) and had to rely on other officers behind me to use deadly force if needed. Basically we had to pull the door open placing me within about 6 feet of a guy with a knife, if he was armed. That tends to get your blood pressure cranked up. One officer had empty hands to take him down in a fight if needed, one had a pistol and the other a shotgun. The guy was unarmed but when I hit him with the Taser he shot out of that restroom and we had a heck of a struggle getting him in custody. My sergeant who was on scene (the hands on officer) said he looked like a bottle rocket coming out of there. A point in this case was, it put me in a potentially extremely dangerous position to try to keep from just killing this guy. There were no rules and said we had to use a Taser and that kind of situation. We don’t hear that in the media however. The next time we were at yet another restaurant where another officer and I tried to get a drunk a ride home since he was passed out in the restaurant. This guy was about 300 pounds and decided to fight instead of taking a cab home. He charged and the other officer who sidestepped him in a great move and shoved him to the ground with us yelling for him to stay down. Wellll…. not when you are drunk. He came at me and I shot him with a Taser but 1 dart either didn’t hit him or it got ripped out. He threw my partner against the wall and made a Taser could have been used on his back but it is a one shot weapon and has to be manually reloaded. I used it as a stun gun (which doesn’t stun but is excruciatingly painful) and drove it into his back to get him off of my partner. He stood up looking away from me and picked up a metal sign made with square pipes. He swung it like a baseball bat at me but I couldn’t see it coming but the other officer could but couldn’t stop it. At literally the last moment I saw it and put my left arm up to try and block a pipe being swung by a 300 pound guy. Fortunately I caught part of the blow with my arm. The pipe still hit my face. My partner saw so much blood fly that he thought it knocked my eye out. I grabbed my face in an instant reaction and could feel the cuts open up. I was pretty much covered in blood and threw my Taser down and used my Asp metal baton. That ended it. I spent a couple of hours in the hospital that day, I think the 5th time in the line of duty. My left arm had about a 3 inch bruise from my wrist to my elbow where it took much of the blow. They X-rayed my hand twice because it hurt to move my fingers but there was no broken bones. I opted to had my left eyebrow glued back together in two places rather than being sutured. The reason for the stories is to emphasize the potential failures of a Taser at the risk of sn officers’s life. I almost lost my eye, possibly my life and spent time in the hospital from using a Taser in what was an unarmed man. So I have used one twice and neither time did it stop the attack and 1 time really cost me. I still think they are an awesome tool but the notion that an officer would face a deadly threat with a Taser is beyond stupid. I could give you other failures in my own department and at least two of which ended up causing a death, one from the Taser adding to a man’s injuries (I witnessed that one) and the other failure caused the suspect to be shot and killed.

  33. Ok, I found Corrigan, it's between Moscow and Wakefield, but it took me a few seconds to locate Camden, nestled amongst Moscow, Barnes and Barnum. Moscow appears closer to Corrigan on the map than Camden. I've always heard of this school district, and I imagine they have to look at the map to find Port Neches, and for sure Groves. Or perhaps not, they're likely smarter than me. But anyway, I looked at the highlights in the other thread, and it doesn't appear to be the same players/numbers as the highlights on maxpreps. But one thing's for sure, those running backs simply do not want to go down. Especially that #24 vs Hempstead, in the maxprep highlight. They hit him at the 20, piled on, and he pretty much carried the entire pile to the goal line.

  39. Two years ago they would have probably gone three rounds deep in the playoffs had they not had to play Katy Paetow in the first round who by the way won the state championship last year and is now in 6a. They should have been playing Galena Park and Houston ISD schools not Katy Paetow. Dayton was 2-8 last year playing more or less what is now the district Lee is in. No one is running down Dayton. They rightfully can't compete against teams like Porter nor should they have to. They are now in different divisions which is the point of having divisions. To put you in with other teams you can compete with. As for if Lee can beat Porter. That's the point. They shouldn't have to. They should be beating Galena Park, which they did the last two years by an average of 50 points each time. And Santa Fe, who they beat 34-3 three years ago when they last played. How many wins Lee would have in their appropriate division? I would certainly like to be able to find out one day.

  45. For me coach C is what is needed in Jasper. Born and raised bulldog through and through!!! And it took me a minute to realize that this is the first year in a completely new offense and it was going to take time but these young kids are catching on fast!! It will not surprise me if we don't get the W over wos but if we don't the silver and blue are going to have to earn everything that they get cuz these kids they are going to keep fighting and fighting and fighting and that is one of the best things that I love about this team and this coaching staff!!! Jasper Bulldog Class of 95 We are Family We Are one!!!

  46. This is a classic game of “whack-a-mole” for Ltown and “keepaway” for Vidor. Ltown must stop the Slot T to get the ball. Vidor has to grind out yards & clock to score. Ltown no ball - no score. Vidor’s best D is keeping the Ltown O on the bench. Vidor gets into 3 & out, this’ll turn into a slaughter. As I said last week, hope for a good game with no injuries. Go Pirates!

    Newton vs Trinity

Kickers are overrated , ( What ) If Newton had a field goal kicker, I kinda think they would have kicked a field goal at the end of the Woodville game for the win. If Field goal kickers are so overrated, why do all colleges, pro's and most high schools have one/ maybe they want to win close games. My reasoning is you need them to win against good teams JMO
