This will be Silsbee's 6th regional final in last 7 years and 11th in last 17 seasons. Huffman's first ever regional final. This will be a very tough game to predict.

Who cares about HJ/HH. This is Silsbee vs HH. Does Silsbee try to speed up this game? Has HH played against a pressing team like Silsbee? Has Silsbee played a team with Huffman style this year?

True. That's why the Wharton game was a little closer. It was Tigers vs. Tigers. I was just thinking, humans are the most dangerous mammals by far. A fancy record over the years doesn't mean anything if you got nothing to show for it. At the very least a few region appearances would be expected if you're that good. I heard somewhere this was Huffman's first time past round 3. Some teams have those records cause they hardly ever challenge themselves. Look at how Hamshire Fannett handled them and their fancy record last year. It's no wonder they didn't want that other kid to play for Fannett this season. Not saying Silsbee is gonna win. I didn't expect Silsbee to be playing past playoff game number 2. This is still a young team rebuilding. Everything has just been icing on the cake these past few games.

I hate the idea of rating the skill of a coach solely on wins/losses. Keven Foster is without question the best coach in the area and arguably anywhere in the state for these reasons: Character and effort of his players, adaptability midgame, experience, poise, and yes.. success. What a great coach and better person. Big Sandy is very fortunate to have him. It sounds like this would've been an excellent game to be at.

I think that can all be thrown out the window anyway. Silsbee played several games at the beginning of the year without key players, then had the covid stuff. Since the playoffs have started they look like a totally different team. I'm going to take them over huffman by 10. I'm hoping so anyway, because all of the stupidity (instigated by huffman fans) at the end of the HJ/HH seeding game is the only reason that HJ lost their first round playoff game. There's a decent chance had that not happened HJ would at least have had some chance in still being around, as easily as this side of the bracket has played out.

I've worn one quite a bit, but I'm out and about a lot. I figured that I would have long since gotten sick, but I guess I haven't. I've worn mine mostly so that I don't infect anyone else, and also in hopes that I won't look like one of those old a-holes walking around with an angry look and MAGA hat, but no mask. I rank those guys right next to the ones that have their pants sagging below their butt cheeks.

I don't know they seemed uncharacteristically ragged in the first half and went in trailing. Everybody knew what was going to happen in the end. Huffman would take the lead back and keep it. But the game was still in question right up to the last 2 minutes. Being the last ranked team in the Region Huffman has to be considered the favorite. But go to Silsbee's Maxpreps page and check out the highlights of the Yates game. Silsbee took down the 2nd ranked team by 15 points scoring 99. The Falcons haven't scored quite that many points all year against anybody. I'd say the Tigers have a good chance.

When i was given an explanation in this thread (the first time i've ever heard it), i said if that was the case then he earned his suspension. If that's the case it sounds like HJ's coach did the right thing. As for the rest, it can be tough for folks to get past certain behaviors of leadership to be unbiased towards the kids. If HH was playing a houston team I'd pull for y'all, but given another setx option, GO SILSBEE! I'm a big fan of your boy's soccer team, though. Great leadership there. Good dude, much respect. I apologize for bringing all this up, and am done talking about it. Back to the game at hand. Go Silsbee!

And I'll go further. If Shan Gilder gets another dunk the Tigers will definitely win the game.

I don’t think it’s the kids people have a problem with

Since Huffman is in “our area” as is Silsbee, I’m excited simply by that. I don’t know how long it’s been since two SETX teams fought it out for Regional, but I’d guess it doesn’t happen often. There will be contrasting styles, Silsbee using speed and HH being methodical, which sometimes frustrate opponents. I still say it’s going to be a whale of a ballgame. Those that have seen both teams play have a better read on the victor, but most of them have a little bias, lol. Any more than a six point difference at the end will surprise me.

Coach Foster is the best in the business, I was lucky enough to work with him side by side for 4 years, he never missed one of my playoff games unless he was at a softball playoff game. He takes care of his players, coaches, teachers, admin and the community. The gym is named after his Uncle but I hope one day it is Kevin Foster court. I will always pull for his teams, and Kevin is one of the best to work with.

The handful of times I've seen one of his teams play I've left with the same reaction. No matter the skill level he's working with or the level of competition.. It's the same every time I've seen.

I've been high on HH all year and boy have they delivered, only 1 loss all season... Amazing but I still take the Tigers by 5 here, Silsbee has played a brutal regular season schedule compared to HH and even had the tougher path through the playoffs. They are battle tested and hitting their stride at the right time. Sell out to stop #10 and lets see what the rest of their guys can do vs that Silsbee defense.

I went to get my DL renewed and a lady in a Darth Vader suit comes outside. She asks me 15 questions and takes my temperature. One at a time they “allow” us in as they sit behind protective plastic “force-fields”. The same thing happens when I go to get my tags. Yet as a first responder we don’t have this “luxury”. You call 911 we simply come out and handle business. I never once wore a mask. Life is a risk. Every time you drive your life is hinging on a 6” center stripe dividing you and opposing traffic. If you feel safer wearing a mask - by all means continue wearing it to your hearts content. When my son had cancer and we made weekly, sometimes daily trips to MD Anderson those that were in serious immune-system jeopardy wore masks. You could tell who they were and tried to keep a safe distance - but not everyone wore one. The “outrage” at this confuses me. Every time we go to the store, probably 30% don’t wear a mask, 40% don’t wear one properly (rendering it useless), and 30% wear one. To each his own.

Of course. I expect to see a lot of employers continue to require workers to wear them. Most places can't afford an outbreak that would close the business for 10-14 days, and they could also find themselves being sued for transmissions that might have occurred between employees in the workplace.

He is good, but GCM never made him run the floor or play defense. When he did, he looked out of shape. I thought their game plan for the Manvel big man was more effective. Live by the 3. I’m a strong believer in the immune system i understand some people have health issues so yeah get the vaccine i will go out on a limb and say most people in this world have been exposed unless you wear a hazmat suit on an island. my immune system says thank you for letting me deal with this virus I agree with @bullets13 as far as timing....should ve never mandated it. vaccine isn’t going to make it go away.....just like the flu. issues will rise now with local and city officials, businesses, and the people they serve. United has a guard that girls from the 6a the last 2 years couldn’t defend. Her ppg and steals are way up this year. So they’ll have a matchup problem as well. Everything else will factor on which team has the most experience. Both teams have it.
