Manvel is not a slouch team. They have one of the top programs in the state. Playing them is like playing North Shore. Remember BU didn't come in at the top spot in district also. They did show improvement from last year with a lot of underclassmen playing. Congrats to the players for their season. We look for even more success next year.

Who yah got? Whats your thoughts on this one? I watched them play Friday and Montgomery lake creek gave them all they could handle untill well into the 3rd quarter then began makeing costly mistakes. In my opinion Texas High is much like fort bend Marshall, having a great record with little to no wins over quality teams besides Pine tree who just won over A&M consolidated. My thoughts they are over hyped like FBM and this Friday will find out soon enough at Records mean nothing once playoffs are in full swing. I'm going with my Coogs 42-21 Come on Friday!!!

- Barbers Hill vs. Huntsville, Fri, 12/18, Woodforest Bank Stadium, Shenandoah, 7:30 pm I see this as a hard fought low scoring game. Huntsville will probably have the best defense the Eagles have seen this year. BH will have to be lights out on Defense to stay in this game. Huntsville also counters with a pretty good offense, so yeah this one has me worried. Thoughts?

I've never picked Argyle in a State Championship game.

Texas High is new to the Region this year so we really don’t know much about them. They seem to be the real deal and are considered to be one of the Top 3 in the Region. I think FB Marshall is definitely overrated. This week should tell us more about how good Texas High is. This should be a great game. Crosby will be the underdog but I give them an excellent chance for the upset.

Plus Carthage QB might not be healthy. Carthage dominated back in December. Both teams are different animals now. Gilmer is a product of PG not being healthy this season. One more thing, never bet against a man who has more state titles than playoff losses.

Dude just talking out the side of his neck. BU original non district schedule included Montgomery, which have won their playoff game this week. Also had West Brook, a team also going to the second round of the playoffs, and PN-G, who also was a playoff team.

We missed 2 dunks 😟 I do believe this is the first game we've had our entire roster active. Be interesting to see if Coach Sigler keeps subbing 5 in and 5 out from now on. Miller ended up with 8 - 12 points for the night. I think that Silsbee roster is fairly accurate with the heights. One of our kids really did grow 3 inches going into his senior year. That's quite a late growth spurt.

Maybe the “opt out” culture, that’s been prevalent in college and pro sports this year, has now spread to HS sports. Many college football players have quit on their teams this year. The transfer portal plays a big part in it too.

If there are any returners that were among the players who refused to go in the game, they would not be part of my program going forward. TBH, they wouldn’t have continued to wear the Jersey on the sideline. Send them straight to the lockeroom, and if their parents were there, send them home. Those type of individuals are what keeps a program from taking another step forward. As a teammate, I don’t even have to say what should happen to them, y’all already know how y’all would handle it. I don’t even have a connection to this team, with the exception of being district mates, but this has been eating at me all night, Bc there are kids and coaches who bust their ass every day during off season, during the season, to get the opportunity to play in a playoff game, and they never reach that goal, and then these kids are scared of a challenge and don’t appreciate the gift, the opportunity that they have earned, and I’m sure they worked hard to get there too, but they will have to live with that the rest of their lives, every time they look in the mirror, or drive by a stadium, or run into old teammates 20 years from now. It will always be with them, and deservedly so. Congrats on a great, historical season United, that community should be proud of y’all! See y’all next year!
