Ben Featherston played on the D-Line with my son for the Raiders. He graduated this year with Academic Scholarships to Baylor. He is an awesome kid. Please read the Facebook post from his family below:

“Update for Ben Featherston!
10/31/21
For Ben, this weekend has been a time of rest and stabilization in preparation for a big surgery tomorrow.
As y'all know, Ben's body remains in a state of instability which is preventing his liver & kidneys from recovering. This instability is coming from his legs which were severely injured from lack of blood flow from cardiogenic shock when Ben's illness started on 9/29/21. Now, 32 days later, his legs have not been able to recover despite numerous debridements & surgeries. And, as his legs
worsen, they release toxins into his body that keep his blood pressure unstable & keep his liver and kidneys very sick. This is very much a life or death situation. The only solution in stopping this viscous cycle is amputation. Ben will have both legs amputated above the knee tomorrow. Ben is aware of the situation and has shown strength beyond his age. We have told him he has an army of Drs and nurses fighting for him and a second army of friends and family fighting for him and lastly, God's army surrounding him. His fight continues to amaze us!Thank you for your continued love & prayers. Ben needs them now more than ever!”

I beg of each of you that reads this to say a simple prayer for Ben’s health and recovery. I wish you could know what a great and decent kid this young man is. Thank you.

Wow. This is so sad to hear about for someone so young to go through! H👀 Ben's illness sounds alot like something my dad went thru a few years ago which led to both of his legs being amputated too. Sending all my love and prayers to Been, his family, friends, and all of Lumberton's community that he overcomes this obstacle in his young life.🙏🏼

Thank you. The illness is almost unheard of for such a young man who is otherwise in excellent health.

You're very welcome. My father's was because of renal failure but to hear of someone so young and great health really is mind boggling. Just keep the faith in God and the doctors!

Update for Ben Featherston from his sister’s Facebook page last night:
11/1/2021

“Thank you for your prayers. They are working! Ben is out of surgery and the amputations occurred without any
complications. Even better, once the legs were closed his blood pressure immediately improved and they were able to reduce medications to keep his blood pressure
regulated. Both legs were amputated just above his knees. Although just in the hours post-surgery, Ben still has a long road ahead but we are cautiously optimistic as we can now say we are looking forward to Ben's recovery & rehabilitation.

Thank you for your continued love, support, & prayers.. it'sworking and we are so thankful!”

    • He actually had a pretty solid year for a sophomore starting in that district. I can assure you, it hasn't hurt his recruiting at all and that will only improve with the move back to the Wack.
    • If Crumedy eventually has bigger aspirations than being in Jasper, every aspect of the program will be looked at when someone interviews him for any job. He knows that. The mindset needs to be that any time someone wears a Jasper uniform, that they're doing everything they possibly can to win. It matters.
    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up It's a poll but I could definitely see this as realistic.   From the article: Catholics in the United States have swung dramatically against President Biden in recent years, now boasting a significant statistical break towards his GOP challenger. Pew Research released on Apr. 30 a report exploring support for presidential candidates sorted by religious affiliation. The poll found that 55% of Catholics support or lean towards supporting former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head against Biden. Conversely, only 45% of Catholics support Biden in the same one-on-one pairing. The 12% margin of support in favor of Trump marks a significant shift from 2020, when he held an extremely narrow lead — 50% to 49%. Biden currently leads among Hispanic Catholics with a narrow 49%-47% split, but the close contest marks a major shift rightward for the demographic. In 2020, a similar poll from Pew Research found Hispanic Catholics preferred Biden to Trump with a staggering 67%-26% split.
    • You said a lot there. Truthfully, that is the root of the issue. Who cares what a kid thinks about how coaches are running a program? Kids play, coaches coach. For some reason, parents have this backward in a lot of places and its wreaking havoc.
    • He's already stated he's a huge Clinton fan.
