  1. I always liked the old starburst kick off returns. Haven't seen one of those in a while.
  2. Didn't say they were definitely going to score. They just had some momentum and like I said they needed to play a near perfect game. The interception was a momentum changer.
  3. Ganders just don't have enough depth. That early interception when they were going to go up 21-7 was a killer. Everything needed to go right and that changed the momentum. With every player playing both ways it was just a matter of time from there.
  4. Coach just made a huge blunder I guess is the only way you can put it. Ball would be in the playoff hunt likely had 22 been starting from day one.
  5. I wasn't able to make the game but this discussion intrigued me. I went to see 22's highlights on hudl. It appears he only started playing qb against Memorial? Hard to believe because the kid looked like a poor man's vince young on the tape against Memorial. And not a whole lot of notches below Vince for that matter. He can't throw that well, but is he not considered a national recruit? I don't follow high school and college football the way I used to so I don't know all the names on the recruiting trail, but this kid could play for any college in the country.
  6. I'll never forget the time I drove all the way to beaumont after work for them to shoot off a couple of bottle rockets 25 miles away and call it lightning in order to reschedule for the next day. Had to be 2007. Lee should have never lost to laporte like they did. Lee beating gcm only surprised me after seeing gcm hang with Pam. Gcm had trouble with south houston.
  7. PNG pulled away at the end. Didn't exactly punch them in the mouth. Lee was driving for the go ahead score late in the 3rd quarter and made a bad turnover that directly led to a score the other way and that was that.
  8. I think you'd like to have seen the defense do a little more, but the offense is for real. Haven't really had a substantial test yet. We shall see in a few weeks where they stand.
  9. Baytown sun with a lame headline though. "Patriots still win in defeat" ...ok🙄
  10. I don't think Lee should be state ranked or anything like that, but Splendora beat them last year and Lee dispatched them this year with ease. Splendora is likely about the same type of team they were last year which means the Ganders are greatly improved. Lee nearly made the playoffs last year after many poor seasons, a few being winless. They are a much better team this year than last. Any sort of success gets me excited as a Gander fan.
  11. Wooley has gone from a run first guy as a sophomore with a lot of wiggle to a very polished passer as a senior. Two years ago I thought he could make it at the next level as a slot receiver. Now I know he can make it as a QB. Maybe not a big time school due to his size but he can play somewhere.
  12. Unfortunately I couldn't make it. I live in Houston now and had my son with me. Baytown Sun should have something online today.
  13. Ganders have four receivers, two running backs and a QB that can take it to the house from anywhere. Offense is better than last year. Defense looks about the same I believe all told Lee scored about 6 first team TDS in about 25 plays.they also dropped two other touchdowns. Pasadena had one good sustained drive. Could have had a few more had it not been for mistakes. They scored once. They actually looked pretty crisp on offense when not fumbling. Lee will need to outscore teams again and will likely be able to do it to some degree.
  14. You're right. I will go so far as to say they have the best offensive skill position players in the district without question. Defense should be better if guys can hold up to playing both ways which I am assuming they will need to do in many cases.
