  1. Looking at Hudl, Brazoswood looks like a team with a good coach that knows their assignments and is serious about executing and playing good football. Sterling looks like the same Sterling we have been seeing for a few years. Disinterested, confused and poor execution.
  2. Doubt Sterling gets any area ranking votes this week.
  3. King is a 6A school that has jumped in enrollment about 700 students in the last five years. They are on the North Shore schedule of going from afterthought to power house. They are even in the same area over there, same caliber of athletes. Think about the trouble Crosby had with Ridge Point and that was when Ridge Point had barely crossed the threshold to highest classification. Imagine them playing Ridge Point now. That's the same as playing King. There will never be a scenario moving forward where Crosby will be able to compete with CE King. They are a few years away from being like North Shore, Westfield, etc. Entrenched as favorites in the region in the highest classification.
  4. I figured after I hit reply.
  5. With the first team? They had three consecutive plays that went for 75, 86 and 65 for three tds on three plays. Maybe their second team brought it way down.
  6. Anyone that thought Crosby would stay within 30 of King was delusional. King has probably 22 of the top 25 athletes on the field. It has nothing do with injuries or a fumble. I don't want people that aren't watching the game to be misled. King would beat Crosby by 25 or more ten out of ten times. They are probably averaging 35 yards per offensive play
  7. Sorry to make things confusing earlier. I went to the Lamar Hudl and noticed the QB had the most views of any of the roster and then saw that he just moved in from Canada. Perhaps he will play more next year as he appears to be class of 2024.
  8. What happened to the receiver for BH?
  9. Interesting that a qb from Canada moved in to Lamar this year. His Hudl highlights are all Canadian football. Not ideal size, but he looks like he can sling the ball around. Wonder what brought his family all the way down to Houston.
  10. Those links don't work for me.. These rankings do look a little more like what I would suspect from this district.
  11. GCM and Sterling have both had horrible coaching for a while. Lee had horrible coaching for more than a decade but now has one of the better head coaches in the district. Prior to Finn showing up, Lee was 4-45 the previous five years and they have now gone 23-17 the last four years. They don't have the athletes to play with the big boys, but they get the most of what they do have. Maybe I am wrong about Sterling. It's just that they have done nothing over the last half decade to make me believe they should be getting top ten in the area votes. They have better pound for pound athletes than Lee for sure and GCM has better than both of them. Guess we will see.
  12. So now Sterling is getting top 10 votes. Are we all being trolled here or what's going on? Did Vince Young Jr move in over the summer?
  13. Nothing I have seen from Sterling leads me to believe they should be considered the dark horse to make any playoffs unless we have expanded to 6 teams. Their QB, who was pretty much a one man show, graduated. I don't see how they will be as good as they were last year even.
  14. Exactly him. I always look on YouTube to see if someone has uploaded some highlights of him in high school. I saw him play against Sterling on the freshman team first game of the year and later that year he was up on varsity playing on a team that eventually went to the state semifinals. He seemed like a cross between Tony Dorsett and Lawrence Taylor. He must have had 8 sacks and 250 yards rushing the game I saw him. It was against other freshmen, but man he was good. Future NFL player David Givens was evidently on the same team in Humble I later found out and I didn't even notice him. That's how much better Mills was than everyone else. Sorry to detail the thread.
  15. He looks ok. He ain't no Leo Mills as a freshman though.
  16. Ganders won 3-1. Don't know much about high school soccer, but they have sharps town next and they seem to be a good team.
  17. Good to see I am not the only one that has noticed what Finn has done at Lee. John Wooden had a quote along the lines of success is doing your best to become the best you are capable of becoming. I think Lee has really reached their full potential of what they are capable of being these last three years. I hope he stays a while.
  18. You think Liberty Hill would do better if they switched to the spread offense? I feel like they are maximizing the talent they have and achieving the optimal outcome possible with the talent they have on hand. Lot of other teams that throw the ball a lot would love to trade places with Liberty Hill these last few years.
  19. They made it to the state title game with that offense unless I am missing the sarcasm?
  20. Not sure what they are feeding them boys over in Austin. They must have 15 starters that are 6'3" or taller. They look like a team of half Ed McCaffreys and half JJ Watts.
  21. Looked at highlights on Hudl. That Crosby defense looked exhausted in just about every clip I saw. I don't think you can say holding them to 35 should be good enough. They needed to hold Texas High to what, 7 points? You have to hold them to whatever you need to hold them to and that Crosby defense was too exhausted to get the stop when they needed to.
  22. Crosby has the advantage that a lot of Dallas area teams usually have over Houston area teams. A one high achool district. Teams like DeSoto are always going to have the advantage over teams like Spring Westfield for instance. As soon as a Houston area team gets good, they split off and add another tram into that school district. Whether it's Cypress, Spring, Fort Bend, Manvel, Pearland, Katy. There is no continuity. Dallas area, due to different zoning laws, is surrounded by small towns. There are some exceptions, but typically those exceptions aren't winning state championships. The dynasties are Aledo, Argyle, DeSoto, Cedar Hill.... Crosby has that same advantage. CE King has it too and if left alone for a few decades will be a powerhouse. I bet they will be split up though into two high schools though if growth continues that way.
  23. Denton Guyer (13-1) vs Tomball (11-3), 7 p.m. Saturday at Waco’s McLane Stadium Katy (14-0) vs Austin Westlake (14-0), 2 p.m. Saturday at Waco’s McLane Stadium Katy Paetow (13-1) vs Corpus Christi Flour Bluff (12-2), 7 p.m. Friday at San Antonio’s Heroes Stadium
  24. Wow. This is an extremely impressive accomplishment. Can't imagine anything similar has been accomplished before. If so, it must be pretty rare.
  25. I don't understand if this is a schtick or what's going on so I will just say ok thanks for your input.
