  1. Lufkin punted and ran into the receiver trying to catch the ball at midfield. The guy fumbled and they said the guy was blocked into him so they gave it to kufkin. Next play Lufkin fumbled but they called him down. All of this with under 3 minutes to play. Not at the game but it seems like both were horrible calls according to the announcers.
  2. Png and Crosby were evenly matched. We know Crosby gets boatraced once they run into a team from fort bend and the fort bend teams have trouble with the college stations of the world. Didn't seem to be a good matchup for png.
  3. Didn't gilmer have Carthage down in the 4th quarter? Silly to think Carthage would be able to stay within 50 of any number of 40-50 6a teams. A team like manvel in 5a would beat them by 80. This isn't early 80s daingerfield here. This is a very good team, but not generationally so.
  4. Yeah but I don't root for temple. I pull for Baytown schools and the rest f the teams from those districts.
  5. Just too much speed in manvel and the fort bend schools. Not sure what setx can do to get over that hump.
  6. Which middle school? I live in Houston now and don't get much info on the middle schools any more.
  7. Better talent coming. Will never get back to what it once was. Just looking to be more competitive. The freshmen were competitive this year.
  8. Way to hang tough ganders. Next year should see improvement.
  9. Crosby just doesn't have the speed to play with manvel or Marshall. Would be surprised if they stay within 3 TDS of either
  10. Eat em up ganders. I think with the sophomore qb and freshman RB, they are a year away from winning those ozen and Lumberton type games. Maybe 3 and 7 would be a realistic goal for next year.
  11. Anyone got anything on the 8th grade teams in Baytown this year?
  12. Way to fight ganders. I think the new coach might just be able to make them competitive in a year or two.
  13. Once the game starts grinding along and you have to make play after play and maintain the consistency of carrying out your assignments, that's when Lee starts to run into trouble at this stage in their program.
  14. Yes #33. Big and strong for a freshman. Had no where to run against gcm. If they go with 14 at qb, the soph qb needs to be in the game somewhere. Too good of an athlete to stay on the sideline.
  15. I am going to assume he went to Baytown junior. I heard about a good back two years ago in 7th grade on this site at Baytown junior so I bet it was him. He's also their best linebacker type already. Lee has a good freshman class relative to what they normally have and a good sophomore qb. They may not be too bad in a few years.
  16. Evidently Lee scored on a 42 yard run to take the lead there but was called back on an inadvertent whistle, then subsequently fumble. Tough luck for a young team needing something to break their way.
  17. Peterson went for 155 yards on 22 carries according to the chronicle. He's a pretty good athlete. Wooley went for 148 on 16 carries for Lee Lee had 18 carries for negative 16 yards outside of those 148 by wooley.
  18. Lot to be excited about for Lee tonight. Gcm just too big up front defensively. It was Ike a meeting of gcm front 7 five yards deep in the Lee backfield all night. The qb for Lee may be more useful as a slot receiver, to get him more space. If he was playing for gcm tonight he would have ran for 400 yards. The backup QB for Lee is a better passer and a respectable runner. The freshman running back slash linebacker for Lee looks to be a good one. Probably one of the four or five best players on the team already. Simply had no where to run tonight with three guys hanging on him three yards in the backfield as soon as he got it on most carries. He did have a four of sacks as a linebacker. Im actually excited to see Lee play for the first time in quite a few seasons. They played hard and got the most out of their talent.
  19. The Lee qb was in no way shape or form close to being in the tackle box. It was 2nd and 3 after that play meaning he was seven yards downfield when tackled, or four yards past the tackle box. The tackle box caveat of that rule looks much different to the naked eye than the play looked tonight. The Lee qb was in the open field, running seven yards downfield. It just so happened to be directly after the gcm coach acted the fool, and (likely) subconsciously, the official leaned towards finding a reason to pick the flag up when no reason existed.
  20. SECTION 34 - TACKLE BOX The Tackle Box is an area between the outside edges of the normal tackle positions extending from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team’s end line. After the ball leaves the tackle box, this area no longer exists.
  21. Gcm qb runs one in from about 45 out on 3rd and 15. 28 to 16.10:29 left
