Goose Creek Memorial 28 Baytown Lee 16/FINAL

Lee has a freshman playing g both ways. Running back and defensive end. Just to give an idea of the lack of depth. -

Lee another 3 and out. Switched QBs for some reason. About to get ugly unless Lee can dig deep here. -

Lee qb wooley is easily the best player on either team. No blocking to speak of but he has 100 yards rushing after the 1st quarter by simply outrunning everyone. -

Gcm got something going now. I think gcm is going to prove to be too big and have too many players for Lee. -

Ijenea Woodley 7 yd TD run for Lee. He carried 4 or 5 times for 50 total yards there on the first drive. He was the whole offense that drive. 7-0 10:05 in the 1st -

No marching bands out here for either team. Free admission. Feels more like a scrimmage. -
Stallworth was not close to being ready to have a real game after going to the Lee scrimmage. Bathrooms under construction. Had to use port a potties. This is probably why they scheduled how they did along with the new bus barn being built.

For the first time in four years I can say that Lee looked pretty good out there. Couldn't stick around for all of varsity. Madison was over an hour late, so it didn't get started until 8:45. Lee freshmen were much better than Madison. Lee varsity was probably about even with Madison. Lee defense didn't allow a first down in the first 15 plays and also picked off a pass. The Lee offense was moving well until the starting qb got a little dinged up. I believe he is a sophomore. A bit small but extremely slippery and fast enough. Lee couldn't move after that when they tried to throw it more with the second qb. I actually think Lee could be a little more competitive this year assuming no injuries. They don't have any depth.

Hope he knows what he is getting into. Doesn't seem like the guy that would want to have to start from a 1-29 place at this stage in his career. That salary is a heck of a draw.

He was clearly right about the death by design. Opening a third high school has been an abject disaster by any metric one would like to use. -
TIM FINN NAMED NEW HEAD COACH AT BAYTOWN LEE

Coach did not have much to work with. I thought the guys played hard for him. He didn't do himself any favors by switching up offenses right in the middle of the first season and on into the second season then switching back to the original offense in season 3. -
Story in the paper says they are contemplating combining the three schools. That would be the first wise decision they have made in some time.

Comparing 2016 attendance at the state games to 2015
gary-us-bonds replied to dillonpanthers's topic in High School Football
All you have to see to say it should be rotated is that the one year it was in Houston, Dallas was shut out and Houston won all of the championships. It is not fair to have it in Dallas every year. Jerry world is nearly a decade old and will be reaching a point soon like all other stadiums do where it is just considered a run of the mill stadium. -
Surprised to see desoto at 11 in that poll. They had no business beating Collins last week.

So cougar underestimates fort bend schools and humble schools I see. -
Cedar park cut it to single digits for less than a minute after the 1st quarter. Manvel has much better return game so total yards is a little misleading.

MY RANT OF THE COVERAGE AREA,SO TO SPEAK
gary-us-bonds replied to pakronos's topic in High School Football
The Dallas area has a distinct advantage over the Houston area due to the fact they have so many distinct towns that have their own school district. Desoto and Cedar Hill come to mind. In the Houston area, cedar hill would be fort bend Hightower, then right when they syart flexing their muscles, Ridge point opens up. Right when George ranch starts flexing their muscles, a Greatwood high school will be built. Katy is sort of its own thing, but everywhere else the fractured aspect of the districts is a hinder and, not a help. Klein Collins is finally getting it going again. They will have another Klein school soon, book it. And this will set them back a few years again. PAM doesn't have any excuse. They have the one school and plenty of athletes. -
One am built around executing and not making mistakes vs a team built around overwhelming you with athletes. Reminds me of the katy and manvel games of the last few years. I don't think cedar park has ever seen this type of athleticism. It will basically be like playing a really athletic 6a team for them.
