The Lee qb was in no way shape or form close to being in the tackle box. It was 2nd and 3 after that play meaning he was seven yards downfield when tackled, or four yards past the tackle box. The tackle box caveat of that rule looks much different to the naked eye than the play looked tonight. The Lee qb was in the open field, running seven yards downfield. It just so happened to be directly after the gcm coach acted the fool, and (likely) subconsciously, the official leaned towards finding a reason to pick the flag up when no reason existed.

SECTION 34 - TACKLE BOX The Tackle Box is an area between the outside edges of the normal tackle positions extending from three yards beyond the line of scrimmage to the offensive team’s end line. After the ball leaves the tackle box, this area no longer exists.

Lee turns back gcm and gets the ball on own 14 after punt. The arguing by gcm coach just bought his team a flag being picked up for an obvious horse collar.

43 yd FG into the wind as time expires in half. 21 16 gcm up. Lee has a pretty good kicker all things considered.

Gcm 3 and out. Lee moving. Fumbles on gcm 18.

Lee has a freshman playing g both ways. Running back and defensive end. Just to give an idea of the lack of depth.

Lee another 3 and out. Switched QBs for some reason. About to get ugly unless Lee can dig deep here.

67 yard TD pass gcm. Lee is gassed already. Too many guys going both ways.

Wooley throws interception. Gcm ball on own 15

Lee qb wooley is easily the best player on either team. No blocking to speak of but he has 100 yards rushing after the 1st quarter by simply outrunning everyone.

Gcm got something going now. I think gcm is going to prove to be too big and have too many players for Lee.

Lee gets a first then stopped on 3rd. Bobble punt snap. Gcm takes over around 50

Ijenea Woodley 7 yd TD run for Lee. He carried 4 or 5 times for 50 total yards there on the first drive. He was the whole offense that drive. 7-0 10:05 in the 1st

No marching bands out here for either team. Free admission. Feels more like a scrimmage.

Stallworth was not close to being ready to have a real game after going to the Lee scrimmage. Bathrooms under construction. Had to use port a potties. This is probably why they scheduled how they did along with the new bus barn being built.

For the first time in four years I can say that Lee looked pretty good out there. Couldn't stick around for all of varsity. Madison was over an hour late, so it didn't get started until 8:45. Lee freshmen were much better than Madison. Lee varsity was probably about even with Madison. Lee defense didn't allow a first down in the first 15 plays and also picked off a pass. The Lee offense was moving well until the starting qb got a little dinged up. I believe he is a sophomore. A bit small but extremely slippery and fast enough. Lee couldn't move after that when they tried to throw it more with the second qb. I actually think Lee could be a little more competitive this year assuming no injuries. They don't have any depth.
