This is what any of them don't get!! They all on this site always think everyone be against the coaching staff. We love them all as a person.but, the coaching has no discipline at all! All the unsportsmanlike penalties and all the penalties as a hole.great teams doesn't do some of the things they do.and that's why ppl are so critical of the staff!! It's not Abt the past !! It's Abt now.west orange still will win. But, been sooo undisciplined doesn't make sense4 points

FINAL — Silsbee 30 at West Orange-Stark 38 — Discussion
Gasilla and 2 others reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
Back to the kicking decisions. Hernandez could've put 3 points on the board from 5 yards farther back. Silsbee broadcaster even said he threw his hands up going back to the sideline. His only miss all year was last week with a bad snap. When he has punted he's dropped it inside the 5 when possible. He has talent. Things like this could be why the last kicker didnt return play his senior year. Even though he broke every record at WOS. At times they've shown zero confidence in them. Flashback to the OT loss at PNG few years ago. It went to OT because they wouldn't let the kicker kick. But Joseph did and the kid nailed it. How many times did we hear CT talk about winning all 3 phases?3 points -

Colmesneil is a very physical football team. Lot's of tenacity. Get after you every down on both sides of the ball. #1 runs hard for them and #32 is a beast at WR. Their defense has a bell cow in #55 on the line. Controls the inside. Lot's going both ways. I would say at least 8-9 play every snap of the game. Credit to West Hardin for not quitting after going down 24-6. Kept battling till the end. Those guys can hit as well. Oilers just couldn't get anything out of their passing game like the Bulldogs did. Both teams run it 85% of the time but Colmesneil was much more effective when they did pass. I think Colmesneil has a real shot at West Sabine. Their physical play can wear on a team that doesn't like that style. Glad I decided to attend this one. Very good football game.2 points -

I missed it live but went back to the broadcast. You're right. Levi was in for KJ too. Really?!?! Its the same staff that called a TO on 3rd down of opening drive. Next play went -2. Then they went for it on 4th and lost 10 more yards. Why not punt from midfield? I'll get back to that. Then at the end its like he heard me say "we cant play prevent on offense." And replied back... hold my beer. Same coach ran down to call the TO. Put in the FG team. False start. So now lets try to throw to the end zone. Athleticism can only bail him out so many times. Will they have another KJ next year? Is Spears or Alexander gonna be another record breaking savior? Tonight we played a sloppy undisciplined game and escaped with a win. Think Silsbee had 14 points from scoop and scores. We couldn't make a 1st down after 2 of their turnovers. Penalties cost us numerous times. This wont work in December. Loved the cooler weather tonight but I want them to play indoors at some point. Only one place to do that.2 points -
Halliburton's account of WB's win in the Beaumont Bowl
AggiesAreWe and one other reacted to Small fry for a topic
Anderson, WB pound United 28-14 By Tom Halliburton Tammeron Anderson never expected to run so much Friday night but the West Brook senior handled his heavy workload ‘ok’ by his own estimation. The Bruins quarterback and his big-play receiver/runner Brandon Jackson dazzled Beaumont United’s defense when it counted as the west end squad convincingly reclaimed the Beaumont Bowl title 28-14 at wind-blown Doggett Family Stadium. How convincingly did coach Chuck Langston’s red and blue (3-4 and 2-3) restore their 5A Division 1 playoff hopes? They outgained the younger Timberwolves (6-2 and 3-2) by a commanding 422 yards to United’s 246. How involved was West Brook’s field general in compiling that 422 total. The University of Louisiana pledge, Anderson ran a seemingly excessive 26 times for 151 yards and threw for 198 more. Tam tossed three scoring passes and dashed to paydirt for a fourth score. Anderson’s busiest receiver, Jackson, collected five of his passer’s nine completions for 166 yards and two touchdowns while Brock Anderson added a touchdown catch which shoved WB in the lead for keeps. There’s no way anyone expected the Bruins quarterback to take off and run that often. Not even Tam himself. But the Timberwolves defense had to stretch the field and assign a defender to guard each potential weapon as the Bruins constantly lined up in an empty backfield. That permitted Tam to dash into the wide-open spaces. “The game plan was to get the ball to my receivers but United has a great defense and our receivers weren’t always open,” the Bruins passer said. “We had to give them some unique looks (offensive formations),” said the head coach’s son and WB offensive coordinator Justice Langston. “We thought we might have to put it on Tam’s back.” When the rivals shook hands, Timberwolves head coach Drenard Williams spoke with class, complimenting the Bruins. “They kept our passing game contained and we couldn’t punch it into the end zone,” United’s second-year head coach said. “I take my hat off to them. It’s all about execution. But we sure don’t have time to hang our hats.” Anderson would be the first guy to admit that his night would feel far less than perfect. He lost two fumbles in the game’s first 15 minutes. United linebacker Myles Andrews jarred one loose in the end zone and teammate Justice Johnson covered it for touchdown, giving United a 14-7 lead less than a minute into the second quarter. From that point, WB’s offensive line decided to take charge, often escorting its quarterback to large yardage chunks. The Bruins tied the game midway in the second quarter with an 87-yard, 15-play drive. They grabbed their first lead late in the third quarter with a 62-yard, 14-play possession. The fourth-quarter trip to the end zone covered 64 yards in eight snaps. “I thought our offensive line played extremely well,” the Bruins head coach said. “We were very physical up front. Tam is a special young man with an unbelievable character. We put a lot on him tonight.” Senior offensive lineman Michael Richard felt his unit definitely took command of United’s defense after halftime. “I could tell by the energy we had,” Richard said. “We just had to make sure we executed and stayed together… The main thing is we just locked in on all of our plays.” As for the game’s most productive yardage gainer, the West Brook quarterback preferred to downplay his contribution. “I had an OK game but I could have done much better,” Anderson said. “I feel happy not for me but for the team, for our school and all the people on the west end.” Tom Halliburton is a Beaumont Enterprise senior sports correspondent2 points -

It was his ankle. He is pretty tough so I'm concerned for him. Huffman's lack of depth is rearing it's ugly head. They are having to put their two best offensive linemen in on defense to stop Lumberton's run game. They are getting tired and are less effective on offense.2 points -

2026 UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest Thread!
Mr. Buddy Garrity reacted to rocketfan86 for a topic
Greetings all and sundry! Bandtober is upon us and the return of the annual UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest is nigh! This year's contest will be held Saturday October 17, 2026 at Port Neches-Groves HS Stadium. The schedule shows 30 bands competing to earn that coveted Division 1 rating and the chance to move on to area competition and hopefully state competition. I am unsure of admission prices to the contest but last year, it was $7 ([Hidden Content]). As I have done the past number of years, I plan to attend and record all the bands. If y'all want, come say hi to me as I battle the weather elements and try to get the best video/audio recordings of our local high school bands. Once I get back home, I will start to edit the video and audio, then post onto my YouTube Channel. The weather might cooperate this year and actually feel like fall! As of today October 8, 2026, there appears to be a cool front arriving next Friday and might have temperatures in the 70s with a nice north breeze. Regardless, I still have to apply the sunscreen, bust out the big umbrella, and keep well-hydrated. A reminder that ALL classifications will have the opportunity to advance past region to area/state competition. Keep in mind that we have separate open class (contemporary-style) and military class tracks for state marching band contest. Some of my thoughts: - The contest is starting a bit later than last year (10:00am compared to 9:30am). - All bands that performed last year are returning this year to compete. - Lamar University is playing two exhibition performances, one after all the 3A bands finish and after all the 5As complete their performances. - Currently we have 3-2A, 9-3A, 12-4A, and 6-5A bands participating. Best wishes to all participating bands as they finish learning their music/drill and polishing up their shows in the next week.1 point -

I don't care what the scoreboard said, (which was mostly due to the PNG defense, btw). I tend to watch the linemen. And the over-all blocking last night vs what I was seeing against TC was a great improvement. We used to receive individual scores on Saturday mornings for how we did, and for a couple of the linemen vs TC I would have probly got a "c". But, no matter, it was a good game last night. Next Friday should be a good game.1 point -

Was concerned HF might look a little "flat" and they did. Wasn't horrible by any means but a bit lack luster. Hard for teenagers to play inspired football after last week. You would hope for an angry squad trying to regroup, but HF was a massive favorite and again it's teenagers. HJ is not the HJ I coached against 10 plus years. With 4 teams making the playoffs from every district they could very well be the best team in the state that doesn't make the playoffs. Not much consolation to the players and coaches, but that's a decent football squad.1 point -

The amount of people on here with zero football IQ is appalling. I counted at least 6 huge drops by the WRs who were wide open. How is that bad play calling? Also calling to put in the backup QB? Delusional.1 point -
RJ was targeted 12 times tonight in the passing game. Almost 50% of the passing plays were for him to be involved. I saw a young QB improve even more tonight, even though the stats won't show it. Moved in the pocket well, escaped trouble multiple times to throw dimes. One specific third down drop changed the momentum as the bad snap next play ended a promising drive. Silsbee missing couple starting RBs didn't help but the real story was WOS big plays. The touchdown with 26 secs left in the 1st half was devastating. Both teams had drives ended inside redzone tonight due to fumbles, penalties, etc.1 point

I had every single game wrong, but I still think all the teams this year are worse than last year's version except Vidor and maybe Livingston. I know Liberty beat Huffman last week but that says way more about Huffman than Liberty. I still think Huffman will mess around and not be the victim of the abysmal coaching staff on one night and rain on somebody's parade, but will not make the playoffs. That BC / Lumberton game was a head scratcher based on pre district results.1 point
