I watched the whole game and Ned was clearly the better team and my friend the scoreboard agrees with me -

Tend to agree. He had 141 yards and 2 TD's on just 6 carries against Bridge City. That's 23.5 yards per carry. Even if you take away the 81 and 25 yard TD runs, he still averaged 9 yards per carry on the other four rushes.

Scott Surratt is really hard to beat. Happens on rare occasion but really hard to do. These are high school kids so anything can happen but I'm guessing Carthage is at least 21 points better. The private school last week was big and fast. It looked brutally physical from my vantage point.

Probably pretty close on the spread. GCM can get some explosive plays if Ricco has a little time. But, our game was really 52-14 if you take away the fumble return TD on first play, and the 2 late garbage TD’s. (The last 2 irritated me because it looked like LP kind of let up. Bad habit. Especially when you’re not an elite D right now to begin with.) Like I said though, with a Hurts calling plays, you’re never really sure what they might try. So, you do have to be on your toes. Run D is pretty porous. Doesn’t bode well against PAM. To have 10 Seniors on D who were used to playing against NS, Cita, CEK, and SC, I thought they’d be a little more stout. LP racked up 540 yards with all backups on the OL, and Simon had to sit the first half. I was really tempted to put NC ahead of them in my weekly thoughts.

Chambliss is special for sure...best QB in college football IMO...Leavitt is good, not special IMO...he misses too many throws to be considered special, such as the easy throw to a wide open TE at the goal line and a wide open WR over the middle on a critical 3rd down that should have been a huge play...he is dynamic with his feet, but not as much with his arm...Chambliss is special in all phases

I agree. These coaches know what they are doing and it has shown in the past. This year has been a bit different then those past teams. We are smaller in size in the trenches and you have to adjust as to how you execute the plays.This is what is going on right now in preseason and these bleacher coaches who think they are better coaches then the ones on the field just need to keep their opinions to their selves. This set of coaches are going to make these adjustments and put the best product on the field they can with this group. This is how it's been done in the past it just wasn't as obvious as this year. That is what these bleacher coaches don't understand and it shows that they don't know anything about putting a team together with different players every year and adjusting to that groups abilities.

This is not quote from me but I appreciate and agree with your statement. WOS didnt look like the team we've seen since last years pre-district loss to FB Crawford. The Oline failed miserably causing sacks to our QB and KJ scoring his only TD by pass. But lets look at this positively... I'd rather lose now when it doesn't count. Same with next week vs THE Carthage state university. Better get prepared for district and HF because they are firing on all cylinders and havnt been slowed down by anyone yet. Thats gonna be a "game of the week" at their place on 10/9 after our bye week. We've lost the past 2 times playing there. Hopefully weather will be better than the last trip. As fans we can look ahead to those circle games. Staff and players need to focus every week on that Friday's opponent.

PNG is a more explosive and better on offense as a whole with Gohkle as QB1…. May be time to make him the full time starter for a game

Tarkington D did their job last night and have been improving, I know final scores won’t reflect that but no D can stay on the field 70% of the game and be efficient. Offense played their best game of the season but is still coming up short on key drives and red zone. Stupid penalties are killing us too. At the very least, we will have competitive games going forward minus EC, OF and Buna maybe.

First time listening to the guys that provide the audio broadcast. The play by play guy is really quite good. The color guy you can tell is HF through and through and that is fine. I hope they are good friends that gripe at each other, because it is very entertaining to listen to them as they "argue" over jersey numbers. I can just imagine the ride home as they accuse each other of being old and unable to see. My money on being right more often is on the play by play guy.

Well, it'd be easy to say that the 3rd quarter is PNG's nemesis so far this season, we've been outscored by a total of 68-14 per MaxPrep box scores. But the truth is that we're a smaller team all-around, and just a good team this year, and struggling to be any more than that. It'll make for an interesting district race. Always a good competitor, but last night we were over matched, unlike any game I've seen since the SOC game in '24. When and if we clean up some mistakes, and the o-line develops, then we'll be better. There was one play where it looked like our whole o-line just stood straight up, and a defender came straight through to tackle the QB, like a play you'd see at the peewee level. The D-lineman that played against the Brenham left tackle (6' -7", ~275 or so) did the best he could I guess, but the D-line as a whole really struggled more than any game I've seen so far this year. Will they bounce back and make it a race in district? We'll see.
